Avatar f tn Because some research has shown that women with PCOS are insulin resistant, we need to really watch our sugar intake, while eating LOTs of raw, whole, live fruits, veggies, and superfoods..This along with exercise, stress reduction, (yoga is the best for me) and supplements have been shown to help other women.. I have been pretty down lately, due to the hair loss and skin problems, and have yet to give the natural path a complete go of it.
Avatar m tn I have even stopped picking at my acne (used to be a bad habit) and am super cautious about my hair and hands touch my face. I even work out a lot more too-cardio and weights. In the past I've tried proactiv and prescription creams and they have not worked. I feel like I'm past the initial detox phase of my healthy eating (been about 2 months), so I don't know what it is. I typically have very dry and sensitive skin. All this to say, I have no clue what to do. PLEASE HELP!
Avatar n tn I would also go further and say that no chemicals of any kind should touch your skin. I use only natural lotions and hair products and soaps because everything your skin touches becomes absorbed into the body and eventually ends up in our liver. Also, I never eat produce from other countries because of the high levels of pesticides. I try to eat only organic but that can get very expensive so if I have to eat non-organic I make sure it is from the USA.
Avatar f tn I know this post is old, but I found it, so I wanted to share my opinion for anyone searching sandy stools. I would try clear liquids for 3 days and then switch to a low residue diet and see how it is after that.
2175366 tn?1337651654 Particular nutrient deficiencies are associated with reduced energy and chronic tiredness include iron, magnesium, B12 and folic acid (B9). Opiates often depletes the body of vitamin C as well. That is just a few notable mentions.
Avatar m tn You can also take vit B6 and vit A and E which are good for hair and skin. Try medicated shampoos for dandruff. There are a number of over-the-counter shampoos available that can help. The most effective ingredients -- antimicrobials -- to look for are zinc pyridinethione, selenium sulfide, sulfur and ketoconazole (also available by prescription). If your hair is colored, don't use products with selenium sulfide or sulfur.
7600327 tn?1393358885 t it way too early in the game for this? Can you ladies tell me if this has happened to you, or is it just a mental thing?
Avatar n tn You are an angel, many thanks for helping.
Avatar f tn When I started tanning, the lesions all over my body went away. I am now and have for some time now experiencing skin discomfort. It feels like I have tiny needles piercing every pore on my body. It is not itchy nor is it painful, it's just extremely uncomfortable. Wearing clothes really bothers my skin, so when I don't have to be out of the house, I am usually a cotton sheet with the arms and head holes cut out. I often feel like burlap or wool is rubbing against my skin.
Avatar f tn Yep, I second the coconut oil. You can leave it on your hair for an hour and wash it out with your regular shampoo routine.

Avatar f tn If you shampoo it all the time your taking away natural oils and your body is telling your skin to produce more. Try shampooing your hair every other day and use a dry shampoo in between washes to keep your style refreshed and your hair looking clean. This will al take a week or 2 for you to notice a difference as your body/skin is adjusting. Lots of ppl in my school (i am a licensed cosmetologist (hair stylist) and an instructor). Hope this helps girls!

Avatar m tn increase your intake for B vitamins and biotin... they are good for your hair... vitamins E and C for your skin... There is no evidence that bathing twice a day could make your hair dry... the only thing to that is... your removing the normal flora of your body thus making your skin susceptible for infection...
1657684 tn?1307375035 well I think the answer as far as I know to question 1 is that the blood vessels and the hypothalmus create heat and cold .,for #2 the hair and nails are dead but they are growing from living tissue ie skin ...
Avatar m tn Actually, dry skin and hair don't have to be anything at all. They might be just simply skin/hair problems. One thing that helps with test anxiety is to do them often, every year or every 6 month. This way, as you wait for the test results, you will know that probably nothing much has changed since the last test. Also, you don't have to go to an expensive therapist for the anxiety. Just go to your primary doctor, she might be able to recommend something or refer you to a specialist.
Avatar m tn Can herpes/genital warts be transmitted if uninfected skin comes into contact with a infected skin for 20 seconds or so? No rubbing was involved.. just purely touch only, like skin to skin stick together.. Secondly, if i touches the private area(with vaginal fluid) of a person infected with herpes/gential warts, and continue to touch my private area with the same hand, will herpes/genital warts be transmitted in this way?
Avatar n tn Thank you so much for your message, and I will keep you posted. kind regards.
Avatar m tn Things for anxiety slow you down. Things for energy sometimes speed you up, increasing anxiety. Ashwagandha is usually a good choice. Eleuthero is often a good choice -- I take both. Perhaps you just need time to get used to it. I've never heard of Organic India, so I can't comment on the company. I would have bought it from Planetary Herbals just because it's an old herb company owned by herbalists who started before this became big business. I trust them.
Avatar m tn No one can predict how the delicate skin on your penis and testicles will respond to hair removal products. And no one can predict how your brother will react to this product. Hair removal products have no effect on sexual functioning, except for the fact that if you develop a rash from using them, any kind of touch might be painful until you recover.
Avatar f tn Your reaction to the TX meds sounds very similar to what mine was. My hair and my skin hated the TX meds. I ended up wearing a wig for the last 2-3 mos of my 48 weeks of TX and fighting the itchy skin was a full time battle from about week 24 to week 36 and then it kind of eased up somewhat for the rest of my TX. I also lost my eyelashes (which originally grew quite long) and most of my eyebrows.
