If I c/t off the lorcet and still take the valium will the dr. even give me the suboxone? The reason I need to know is I don't want to be in w/d's for 24 hrs for nothing. As I have 3 small children and I am unable to completely detox right now. I am desperate to get off the lorcet since i take 15-20 a day. I have done my research on suboxone and only plan to use it for the shortest amt. of time possible.If anyone can offer any advice I really appreciate it!
Does anyone know if it is safe to take valium while you are on suboxone? My husband is trying to detox with suboxone and we need to know if he can take it safely. Also, the suboxone doesn't seem to be taking away his withdrawls, he is antsy, has rls, hot and cold, sneezing, nauseaus, very very sick. He has been taking 24-32mg of suboxone and I thought that was a really high dose. He was on about 900mg of oxycodone a day, so maybe that has something to do with it? Anyone please help!
I am on suboxone prescribed by my doctor, well I resently moved out of town and found a new suboxone dr who has prescribed me all these medications to take along with taking the suboxone. I am soooooo scared to take what he has told me to take seeing all these horror storys online about mixing benzos and suboxone. Well if anyone can help me feel better or if they have had this experience also please post keep in mind I have never took any of these medications before other then the suboxone.
I've been on suboxone for 8 months for opiate withdrawl (8 yrs.methadone & 12 yrs 'H'). I started taking 3- 8mg tabs daily for a couple of weeks, and then I went to 2-8mgs a day, and thru time I am now down to 6mgs. It's been a rough road, but I have to get off all meds. I cannot afford them! My insurance runs out in Nov. or Jan. 2010.
Are you talking about the Thomas recipe? This is used for cold turkey or perhaps withdrawels AFTER your OFF suboxone. I don't beleive you mean Vicodin, you probably mean Valium, Right? Because you use Sub to get off vicodin, so you wouldn't use vicodin to get off sub. Anyway, IBKleen just put the link in a prior post, but here it is. Copy & paste

m not sure that suboxone is the correct route for you to be honest. What worries me is the dose of valium that you're taking per day. You can't quit that cold turkey as it will cause seizures and could actually harm you. Methadone and suboxone aren't quit fix w/d meds is the deal. You can't take them for a few days during the w/d and then just put them down, they don't work like that.
When he was weaning off of the opiates, before the suboxone...he was taking 300 mg of valium. His current cocktail is 12 mg of suboxone, 4 mg of klonopin every 4 hours or so, then 50 mg of trazodone with 75 mg of seroquel at bedtime. The doctor has only prescribed the suboxone, with .50 of klonopin and the trazodone. The rest he gets off the street.
What are the effects of that much klonopin? Does he get high from those dosages? And as far as the sex drive goes...
Do you really want to be done with the pills or just suboxone? To me taking valium to get off suboxone is like drinking beer to stop drinking whiskey. It's still gonna keep me drunk. Perhaps the doctor can recommend a good way to get off the subs. WD's are tough but we all go through them when getting cleaned up. You are not alone. There are folks here that can give some good advice on how to best deal with sub WD. I wish you the best in whatever you decide to do.
I have chronic panic disorder, depression and chronic pain and really need support in tapering off valium and suboxone they are prescribed legally but I have been on valium since 1997 and opiates and suboxone for pain management since 2000. I lately have gotten really bad with my anxiety and have an appt with a psychiatrist and usually take all meds as directed but lately I have been really leaning on valium more because of chronic panic and fear.
I'm on suboxone as well 8/2mg x 3 a day. I was addictded to opiates and benzos before i started the program. I went thru detox and started outpatient 18mos ago. I was on subs 24mg a day and valium 45mg a day. Dr. did a slow detox with the valium and 2 days ago i went from 16mg of valium (daily) to 60mg of phenobarbital (a day).. i was expecting to feel pretty much ok. NOT the case! I am hurting BAD... Has anyone had a similar experience?? or have any comments about the subject? thanks..

I have been useing fentynal , percocet 7.5 ,valium for more than 6 years . We are going to be loosing our insurance and i wanted to detox from these meds befor that happens .
I live in ohio and i found a center that will detox me ,but they use suboxone. I have read that this drug is also addicting and expensive. What do you think i should do ?should i go threw it on the suboxone?Is it addicting ? And what if they put me on it after i detox ?
also before monday i havent taken anything but suboxone. i have only been taking a valium in the morning and a percocet at night for the last 4 days... and its the only thing that has made life bearable. but am i ******* myself over? aand just prolonging everything. dont get me wrong i stil am withdrawling but it lets me atleast get 5-6 hours of sleep instead of 2 or 3.
Here me out. I was on suboxone 8 miligrams did ocs for 2 years. Suboxone is great you can deffianntly feel it ven if u are addicted your not high your just happy, and waht to get stuff done and feel like you used to. Now this si the fastest was I got off suboxon,. I had gotten methadone pills and took 1 a day for exactly 2 weeks, not one day more because then I would just get addicted to that.
i have a week off work to try and do this but need some advice. can i take valium for a few days while detoxing to help with sleep without it prolonging the detox.
Thankyou for your prompt response. To answer your question I got the suboxone from my dealer. I am taking the valium as part of treatment for epilepsy and anxiety. I only had my first seizure 5 months ago. My husband and I have been using every drug you can name for 15 years living and djing in Ibiza for 6 years did not help,. but have managed to cut it to a dabble here and there so I know it can suck you in as other drugs have with me before.

1. Valium (or another benzodiazepine such as Klonopin, Librium, Ativan or Xanax). Of these, Valium and Klonopin are best suited for tapering since they come in tablet form. Librium is also an excellent detox benzo, but comes in capsules, making it hard to taper the dose. Ativan or Xanax should only be used if you can't get one of the others.
