mirapex

1390101 tn?1281000559 Wow Kraz - I am sorry that you have had to deal with the problem from Mirapex. I too have RLS and have been on Mirapex for about 2 years, but fortunately have not had a problem with gambling. I am an addict, but have been doing good with that too. Interesting though, your post made me think, there are other things that if I really look at it, I probably do in excess - and have been doing more since on Mirapex. Wonder if there is a connection there.
749148 tn?1302860959 hands... she prescribed Mirapex. I have not started it yet and wondered if anyone out there is using this medication and what your thoughts are. She recommended a TENS unit for the rib pain I guess it's caused from a miss-firing message between my spinal cord and my brain, even though no lesions showed on my thoracic MRI doesn't mean they are not there...hummmm.
410281 tn?1254229064 PLMD, RLS and apnea. My neuro put me on mirapex immediately upon seeing the results. I actually feel like myself again. I had no idea that I was sleeping so poorly, especially after hearing about so much fatigue from my friends here. I can wake up and actually be awake!! I still shake, twitch, jerk and am quite tingly. But sleeping well sure makes it all more manageable... So for those of you with sleep disorders, or that think you might, ASK about Mirapex!
1305558 tn?1302728951 have tried stopping mirapex to find that out but my right leg twists and contorts before i take it as rls worse in evening, also if I skip the dose then my leg is even worse and i walk the house all night...i might have to bite the bullet and try and see. I hope that is what it would be.
1154672 tn?1262222616 I have severe Restless leg Syndrome. I have been on Mirapex for about 6 years now, and never had a problem. I am unemployed now, and do not have any health insurance. My doctor has been great to give me samples, however; they are out of them right now. My doctor tried giving me clonazepam 1 mg 2 nights ago, I walked the floors and tossed and turned all night. I called my doctor, and she said to increase my clonazepam to 2mg before bed.
1200450 tn?1317496867 The doctor put me on mirapex. She told me it would make me very sleepy and help to control the jerking and twitching at night to allow me to get better sleep. I spent most of my sleep time in phase 2 sleep with very little time in REM. My question is about the mirapex. Have any of you ever had issues falling asleep while on the mirapex? I find that once I do get to sleep it helps me stay asleep better.
Avatar n tn ve had to hire a cleaning company to clean apartment every week, and substantial enough that no combination enough medications seems to completely alleviate it - except taking four medications - Singulair, Claritin and Mirapex and Rozerem for sleep, since my sleep has been implicated too and has been substantially worse due to allergies.
Avatar m tn I think the one you are thinking about is called Hylands and it is a supplement.
Avatar n tn t know about the Monavie but what I take and is wonderful is Mirapex. I take it 3 times a day and have no restless legs unless I skip a dose or run out and then the RLS returns. I hope this has helped.
410281 tn?1254229064 I had been having a lot of unexplained symptoms such as tremor, muscle twitching and jerking, tingling in my extremeties and severe eye pain and facial numbness. Migraine was ruled out. Since I started on the mirapex most of my symptoms have either gone away completely or greatly diminished. Could they have been simply caused by the sleep deprivation? Thanks for your time.
405614 tn?1329144114 t answer that question without stopping the Lyrica, and I think it may help with my nerve pain some, so I suppose I don't want to try it. Just another episode of Body - Crime Scene Investigation!
Avatar n tn I'm on .25mg of Mirapex for RLS and am gaining weight. Has anyone else experienced this. Any idea as to why. Suggestions? Thanks!
398059 tn?1447945633 Because of the Mirapex and Gabapentin I can sleep at all. I still get uncomfortable though. It is pain really, except in my left arm anyway. But, the uncomfortablnes and pain in left arm is toerable. I just need more sleep than i am getting.
Avatar f tn 137 Diagnosed RLS 10/07 by neurologist. Besides known night rls symptoms had morning symptoms. Awakened suddenly early AM startled, stressed,wired/ tired, sense of dread, jumping out of skin, adrenaline rush. Difficult to describe, determined not panic attacks.  Somewhat relieved when I get up and move around Before told RLS, internist called this a Restless Syndrome. Had very low ferritin/iron at the time.Took the iron pills, values went up, symptoms did not abate.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your feedback. We would also love it if doctors would give out MedHelp's URL to their patients to help track symptoms. Then their patients could just click Email This on their trackers and send it to their doctors for review. We could easily add Restless Legs as a symptom and Mirapex as a treatment to the Sleep Tracker. Would that work for you?
487070 tn?1313665952 Secondly, I have been put on Pramoxile (sp?) Mirapex for it. Started at 1/8 mg and increased over time to now 1 mg. I hate the side effects but it seems to be working for the most part. I understand it is mainly used for Parkinson's diasease and sometimes RLS. Does anyone take this for their RLS? If so how much? Supossedly it helps increase Dopmine levels which PLMD and Parkinson disorders have in common.I'm not sure if RLS is caused by low Dopamine or not. I feel like YUCK.
Avatar f tn I loose a lot of sleep. I get in day and night. My arms even jerk and have that restless feeling. Mirapex is taken twice a day and don't help. No drs will address it and I'm miserable . Is this a lack of a vitamin or mineral. Do I ever get rid of them?
Avatar m tn Just to double check, are you saying that you take .75 mg. daily? If so, you are lucky that that is not a very high dosage and getting off the drug should be fairly quick. I am presently taking .50 mg daily and am planning to cut back to .25 mg since I no longer require the higher dosage.
Avatar n tn I have RLS and take Mirapex, .25mg about an hour before bed. It has worked great for me. I tried the Gabapentin and got up to 1200 mg - which was also taken before bed, but it did nothing for me. I have been told that Mirapex works much better than Ropinerol - you may want to talk to your doc about Mirapex as an option - it just went generic.
Avatar m tn I would see a movement disorders specialist to see if you have tardive dyskinesia (or one of its other variants such as tardive dystonia). There can be withdrawal dyskinesia after stopping Ability but after two months if it has not gone away tardive dyskinesia should be ruled out. Tardive dyskinesia is generally treated with Mirapex, Bachlophen, Requip, Aricept and Botox injections for focal dystonia.
1288270 tn?1301287612 You should never take medication issues into your own hands in my opinion. Stopping these medications cold turkey can cause many more problems than it is worth in my opinion. Why not go back to your prescribing doctor and ask about a tapering schedule? Why are you coming off of the Lexapro?
Avatar f tn But waht i wanted to comment was something i read here from a poster about some meds for RLS... mirapex and requip... it seems they increase the dopamine levels with some side effects not to get overlooked by someone with addiction issues... The poster shared her experience with mirapex of getting addicted to gambling. It can happen. She even left a link of a documental made in Canada about this terrible effect of mirapex.
1534233 tn?1523388856 You should certainly NOT suddenly stop beta blockers such as Atenalol. It should be reduced over several weeks. There are many warnings about suddenly stopping beta blockers, because it can precipitate heart attack and worsen angina, or other serious heart conditions. I've experienced coming off beta blockers and although only on 1.25mg of bisoprolol, I felt some strange twitching in my chest. I was restarted and cut down gradually over weeks.
Avatar f tn I do not have hypothyroidism, but was given rx of 75mcg of synthroid because i was experiencing some symptoms of hypothroidism approx. 3yrs ago. What would happen if i suddenly stopped the medication?
