Avatar f tn I wonder too just like you about being on such a high dose of vitamin D. Did you have the stomach pain before or after they put you on vitamin D? It does a number on my stomach, making me feel nauseous. So you go back in three months to be tested again? I hope your levels are well within range then. I don't know about the red marks. It could be because of the high dose of D, maybe. If they don't go away soon, see your Dr again.
Avatar f tn I too struggle with vitamin D levels. Vitamin D is essential for immune function..something I found out the hard way when I was sick basically non stop for 6 months when my vitamin D was down to 12 ng/mL (30 nmol/L) with cold, flu, serious case of bronchitis, strep throat twice. I had vitamin D resistance from magnesium deficiency (magnesium deficiency causes a long list of symptoms that you mention actually such as pain, muscle twitches and balance issues).
Avatar n tn My daughter has been having shooting pains from the back of her skull to her tailbone. Also, the left side of her neck hurts her pretty bad sometimes. We have been told that more than likely she has an overlysensitive carotid artery because she passes out and sometimes has seizures when that is touched or she turns certain way with her back. She also goes out sometimes.
1318351 tn?1313381421 Having a low vitamin D level does not mean that you have cancer or some other illness. Low vitamin D levels can be caused by many things including a diet low in vitamin D (such as a vegetarian diet), and limited sun exposure, among others. I don't think that the vitamin D level is the cause of all of your symptoms, but it may cause some symptoms so it is important to correct it. The Vitamin D prescribed for you would be prescribed based on your blood level.
Avatar f tn So I would suggest you consult a doctor immediately and get some vitamin D supplements. Since you are feeling fatigued, you may also have B12 deficiency. So from now on you must eat foods rich in this vital nutrient or take supplements. Thanks.
Avatar f tn If it helps, my cholesterol is really high and I have low vitamin D levels as well. I also have horrible acid reflux disease.
Avatar m tn Low vitamin D levels will cause this because without D your stomach can't absorb calcium which will lead to cramping from dehydration
541196 tn?1293552936 I take a multivitamin daily with 800 iu of Vitamin D. I also recently added 4 gummy vitamin D's that total an addition 1200. I have been hovering with a deficiancy of around 19... today I got the labs back and now I am down to 14. My dr. said she needed me to add 50,000 iu weekly and then after a month go to doing the 50,000 iu once a month in addition to my normal daily 2,000. I am frustrated. I have hashimotos. I was just increased from 88 to 100 mcg of Synthroid this week.
Avatar f tn I'm new here. I'm so glad this forum exists as doctors seem to believe that a vit D deficiency only causes osteoporosis and ricketts. It's so frustrating. At the end of Feb 2013, I found out that my D level was at 19.6ng/ml.
Avatar f tn I was given two months worth of vitamin d once again from my new rheumatologist. When she asked if I remembered if the vitamin d worked for me when I took it back in October and November, I couldn't say for sure but now since I started taking it again on March 20th, which is once a week. I took the second pill yesterday and realized that the vitamin d makes my right hip hurt with radiating pain down my leg.
Avatar f tn If you are darkere skin or tan easily then you have a bigger resitance to obsorbing Vitamin D from the sun. There are a lot of factors so if you can get your levels checked.
Avatar m tn It took a few weeks after switching from leproxan to Zoloft but the Zoloft gave me back my orgasms after 2 weeks on them. Weight gain can come from the SSRI and thyroid issues. I also have a vit D deficiency from my thyroid. The thyroid can affect a lot of things and takes awhile to achieve optimal levels.
Avatar m tn I'm a 12 year old girl and every once in a while I have severe stomach pains and diarrhea. I get cold sweats and feel light headed and almost as if I could pass out. After the cycle is done I feel fine and only as if my stomach is sore. I'm greatly concerned about it because it has happened many times before.
Avatar m tn Than my stomach started to hurt and i was hit with anxiety/depression which i never had in my life i went to doctor they said it was possibly IBS and wanted to give me anti-depression pills which i took for 3 days made me even sicker. So i roughed it out as good as i could and read about LOW VITAMIN D so i asked doctor to check it and BINGO low my number was a 11 .I started taking 50,000iu in april and by june i finished meds and stopped taking them i must have been feeling good to stop.
Avatar f tn Hi. A couple months ago my doctor checked my vitamin D level and told me it was 20 and that it was low so I should start taking vitamin D. Since then I've been taking 1000mgs on and off sometimes on for 2 weeks then off for 3 weeks....well I keep getting infections like sinusitis, I've had a UTI, tonsillitis, and now the stomach flu... I also have random pain on my body but lately mostly my left arm has been hurting and I've also had palpitations...
Avatar f tn Also, should i be giving my kids vitamin D??? or should i just have them drink alot of vitamin d fortified milk?? I would do whatever i could to prevent them from getting it..Too bad they didnt know about it years ago when i was pregnant. I live in NJ--not enough sun year round here. I also was born in April...My one daughter born in May, the other February, although her due date was beg. of March. Again, had I known, i would have had fall or winter babies. Anyway, thanks for the input.
913053 tn?1245952849 I found out that my vitamin D was extremely low, and take 100,000 units once a week now..with a daily 2400 calcium/vitamin D. It is a bit better, but I'm thinking it is/can be a combination of vitamin D and hypo..or either or. Dontcha just ~love~ this race?!?! *sigh* I hope you feel better.
Avatar f tn In March I started to get aches and pains in my limbs. It developed traveling from each joint day to day, also giving me a sensitive sensation in my legs. In April it was still there all over my limbs moving day to day but a constant stomach cramp was present now. After doctor and hosital visits the main answer was "wait it out" "it will pass" even though no one knew what it was. I was then treated for kidney infection but urine results showed that was clear.
Avatar f tn org/posts/show/596183 That link is a thread that is on page two discussing Vitamin D and thyroid disease. It has Vitamin D in the title. It is a good read, although it doesn't go into the exact mechanism that causes a deficiency. There is a correlation between the two.
Avatar n tn There is reflux as the stomach will burp up contents of the digesting food from my stomach into my mouth, especially after drinking water. My stomach just has a constant uneasy feeling and I seem to have a very light tingle all over my body at times when my stomach is gassy and bloated, almost lik a low grade fever.I don't drink or smoke and eat very carefully.I don't even drink pop or coffee.I also seem to have a small amount of musous in my throat.
