Avatar f tn Classic rock. Poison, white snake, gnr, beatles, anything from the music at work on the radio.
Avatar m tn It sounds more like the Sonata is causing this, unless this is something you've been taking for awhile, as these are common side effects of it. I doubt the B complex is causing the problem, but I wonder, when are taking it and when are you taking Sam-e?
Avatar f tn My son is 15 yrs. old. His teeth have firmed back up and the front one seems ok for now, and no crowns are needed. But the next one over (9 or 10?) has darkened ever so slightly and the dentist says he needs a root canal on that one. We have set an appointment to have it done this week which I feel is hasty. When are root canals necessary? Would you be able to see on the x-rays if one is necessary and, if so, what would I look for?

Avatar m tn one night i decided to sit down and play the piano---i played for quite awhile and eventually my wrists started top hurt---but i think that was a carpal tunnel thing, not an arthritis thing. i worry that my arthritis could eventually get bad enough to affect my piano playing. i have atopic dermatitis and it can make my fingers hurt more than my arthritis does. i assume that what i have is osteoarthritis, but no one ever has said that for sure.
Avatar n tn Yet because of that I has the skill of making a guitar, trumpet, violin, cello, electric guitar, piano, and drums all with just my vocal chords alone =D If I get back to listening to smooth Jazz I should be able to reacquire the saxophone again =) IF this ability is not limited to me, then there may be others who go undiagnosed for ASD because we can talk- my question would be: Is he good at reciprocal conversations?
Avatar m tn It all started when one day I played the piano and guitar for several hours. The following morning my wrist hurt and were going numb. I had no swelling. I waited a couple days, then when I thought I was ok I lifted some weights. I realized it wasn't better. School made it impossible for my wrists to recover. I tried playing the piano a week later, but they still hurt. For months I've been trying to let them recover, but they won't.
Avatar n tn Hello I am 18 and have been playing the trumpet for about 8 years. For the majority of those years i had a very very bad technique which involved a lot of pressure. Basically the trumpet mouth piece would crush my lips and be pressing against my teeth whilst playing. To give you an idea of the pressure involved my little finger would turn red at the point where it contacted the trumpet due to it applying so much force towards my face.

Avatar f tn Wolf-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome is a name for a specific type of electrocardiographic finding that occurs due to the presence of an additional conduction pathway within the heart called a Kent bundle. When electricity goes down the Kent bundle, it results in the characteristic appearance on the electrocardiogram (ECG) called a delta wave. In many patients with WPW, a rapid heart rate called supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) may occur.
Avatar m tn My last refill for percocet was 10/19 and 12/09 for ambien and that was my plastic surgeon. My surgeon refused to give me anything else. He told me to find a PCP and I did 12/17 but this FNP isn't addressing my pain/insomnia effectively. On 12/17/10 she wrote me a script for indocin and benadryl. This didn't work so on 12/23/10 she wrote a questionable or I'm not sure who wrote it for sonata, percocet, and dicflonac.
Avatar f tn Sleep medications to induce sleep are helpful for short term insomnia. For long term use they are best avoided, and besides you may develop tolerance to the medication. So, try weaning away from them and slowly try to adopt good sleep hygiene measures to promote sleep. Also, being overweight can worsen the osteoarthritis, so to begin with try light exercises like walking and then gradually build up under the guidance of a physiotherapist.
Avatar n tn I agree about talking to the doc. You might consider melatonin, though. It's OTC, safe, and works well for some people. I've been using that off-and-on throughout treatment. Go with the lowest OTC dose, though. It's a natural compound and if the body gets too much it just ignores the signal. Also, talk to your doc about Ambien (lasts roughly 8 hours) vs. Sonata (lasts about 2 hours).
Avatar m tn I've got a discomfort in my neck, somewhere between my thyroid cartilage and hyroid bone, about 1 inch off of center. I'm a trumpet player and may have torn/streched something down there while playing a long strenuous passage of music about 10 months ago (Finale of Stravinsky's Firebird ballet)str. The discomfort is always present and is often greatest while playing the trumpet. The sensation is a dull tightness, as though there is a lump in the area or someone is pressing on it.
Avatar f tn I highly recommend this article, written by Kent Holtorf, M.D. It discusses a multi-system approach to treating both fibro and CFS. http://healthy-aging.advanceweb.com/editorial/content/editorial.aspx?
Avatar n tn I can see that, for instance, playing the trumpet would be risky because of the pressure in the head. However with singing the main pressure is in the abdomen. Is this a correct way to look at it?
Avatar n tn A monofocal lens does let you see well within a small range of distances, so if you were doing monovision, one eye being set for distance and one eye being set for near, you could set one eye at -1D, 1 diopter myopic, or perhaps 1.25D myopic, and that would likely let you see that sheet music well enough, with -1.5D being better but risking more trouble adapting to the monovision and reduction of stereopsis, 3D visual perception.
Avatar f tn How are you taking that many at a time and still alive broski? You took 30 of the ambien 10 mg in three days? What's your dosing routine? Do you take them during the day or just at night? Withdrawal from Ambien can be life threatening just like benzos. Your best bet would be to see your doctor and be honest with what is going on here and see about seeking some help with this mess you're in. I take one 10 mg Zolpidem a night and cannot fathom taking more than that.
Avatar m tn About 4 years ago I woke up one morning with an extrememy sore throat that felt really low in my throat. Speech was painful, but I spoke anyway. A few weeks later I laughed really hard, then woke up the next morning with my current problem: Whenever I speak, the right side of my face gets so tight it is indistinguisable from the numbness induced by novacane.
Avatar n tn My pain lasts all the time and I wear my orthotic (it's basically a night guard worn all the time) every second of every day. However, my pain still continues. Every time my mouth opens I get either a single pop or a double pop. Pain flares up in my entire jaw, though I only have the TMJ disfunction in my left joint. The pain also flares down badly into my neck and my shoulders. I have gone through physical therapy and am still going through massage therapy.
Avatar m tn Good for you. Being honest is a real step in the right direction. Doing what you did is a real freedom.
Avatar f tn I have my 34w scan booked late for next Thursday (I'll be 35 weeks) and then another one a week later when I'm 36.. What appointment would they most likely check me at? Is there a way to check myself?
