Common Questions and Answers about Sonata for cello

sonata

Avatar m tn ve played guitar long enough where I over time developed calluses on my finger tips. However, now for cello I need a callus on the side of my thumb for a certain technique but I don't have time to develop it for weeks or months. If I regularly cut away at my thumb with a razor or something will a callus still build by means of artificial friction ?
924193 tn?1243876373 It is brought on by everything from writing to turning valves to cello playing to rock climbing. It most closely resembles the pain of a cramp, and when exacerbated by intense usage during rock climbing, eventually makes me unable to grasp holds. History, and notes: The pain first showed up about 10 years ago when I was playing cello regularly (2+ hours a day). Minor at first, the pain became more immediate and more intense during manual activities such as cello playing and writing.
Avatar m tn It sounds more like the Sonata is causing this, unless this is something you've been taking for awhile, as these are common side effects of it. I doubt the B complex is causing the problem, but I wonder, when are taking it and when are you taking Sam-e?
Avatar m tn My last refill for percocet was 10/19 and 12/09 for ambien and that was my plastic surgeon. My surgeon refused to give me anything else. He told me to find a PCP and I did 12/17 but this FNP isn't addressing my pain/insomnia effectively. On 12/17/10 she wrote me a script for indocin and benadryl. This didn't work so on 12/23/10 she wrote a questionable or I'm not sure who wrote it for sonata, percocet, and dicflonac.
Avatar n tn I agree about talking to the doc. You might consider melatonin, though. It's OTC, safe, and works well for some people. I've been using that off-and-on throughout treatment. Go with the lowest OTC dose, though. It's a natural compound and if the body gets too much it just ignores the signal. Also, talk to your doc about Ambien (lasts roughly 8 hours) vs. Sonata (lasts about 2 hours).
Avatar f tn The Z sleep meds, (Ambien & Sonata) can be hard to taper off due to their relatively short half life. Talk to your doctor about using a Dr Ashton style taper where you switch to valium & taper off that which should help minimize the side effects you experience. Your GABA receptors have become tolerant to these drugs & it won't get any better if you continue with them but you should be able to taper very slowly using valium without too much discomfort.
Avatar m tn hi i just finished my menstrual cycle on tuesday and this morning i went to the washroom and as i wiped my self a piece of plastic hard as tape came out. im very scared now for i do not know what that could be, im thinking since i use those ob tampons with no applicator its probably a piece of it that got stuck and i didnt see it while inserted. also i have a bit of on odour so im thinking my tampon is still up inside me.
Avatar f tn Hey, I took Seroquel for yrs for my anxiety and it worked quite well. But finally stopped working, I guess I built up a tolerance. But it never put me out.
Avatar m tn Anyway I have been with this replaced doctor for a yr and a half, I had been explaining to him that 2 vicaprofen in a 24 hour period is not sufficient he by the way had taken me off the motrin and changed my Xanax to Ativan. I also have been on sonata 10 mg for all these yrs. I was given a urine test which is pretty normal, before I took it I told him that there would prob. not be hydrocodone in it as we had been discussing that I needed more pain relief.
Avatar f tn My surgery was a leap of faith for me , due to breathing problems I did not have time to visit Dr. Cirri cello in Sacramento or Dr. Batzdorf// holly at UCLA.
Avatar f tn I have a real problem with insomnia I went to the doctor last week and got Sonata for sleep and I asked for clonadine because I knew that I would be out of pills this week and would be having w/d sysptoms. He did not want to give me that he gave me klonapin instead.. I have not told him I have a problem with pills. The sonata is not working for my insomnia so I have made an another appt to see him this week to see if I can get the clonadine.
Avatar f tn Returning after a long absence- diagnosed in 2002, treated in 2003 with good response, but relapsed. MedHelp was a lifesaver for me with all the knowledge, wisdom, humor, experience and sympathy. So, been lurking for a few years- checking on new treatments and how well they'd work for us type 1s, when my doc called and told me about a new trial I might be able to participate in: BI 201335 plus peg INF and riba.
Avatar f tn Have you tried Ambien or Sonata? I take Ambien (have been on it for about 4 years) - some nights it works well and others it's like I've taken a tic tac - but there are nights when nothing short of getting hit over the head with a hammer is going to help me sleep! I used to be on the CR version of the Ambien, until my insurance decided it wasn't going to cover that formula any longer, so now I'm back to the 10mg dose.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I started clonezepam for my sleep apnea, I twitch all the time in my leg/arm before I fall asleep and I seem to have slept well even without bipap once I felt this urge to write something and I started twitching like I had a seizure for a few minutes
Avatar f tn Just something fun for the mammas to answer what type of music calms your baby?
Avatar n tn I am a 35yr old healthy female with no medical problems before this. Approximately a year and a half ago I had ablation surgery for VT. Since my ablation ive been experiencing random dizziness followed by rapid heart beat. Ive worn halters several times but couldn't catch a lot. Yesterday my run of rapid heart beat didn't stop and I was taken to the ER where my heart reached around 300+ bm.
Avatar n tn my dr just put me on sonata for sleep and i am being treated for add w/ritalin,lamictal for bpd, wellbrutrin depression, and nerourotin for nerve pain and a few days ago i started grinding my teeth together, looks like i am chewing gum all the time and i also am making grunting sounds.
973741 tn?1342342773 I have had a wicked headache since last night! And it's been on and off for a little while. I was highly tempted to take something for it such as ibuprofen (which is best but I try not to take it) or tylenol. But I held off as I remembered somehow that you aren't supposed to take it prior to the vaccine. I thought about singing for everyone for entertainment since I can't play the cello but they looked so relaxed . .. I didn't want to destroy that with my fog horn pipes.
Avatar n tn A year ago i saw a rheumatologist who found i was negative for rheumatoid factor, positive for some vague inflammatory factor, and xrays showed no arthitis, so all very inconclusive. Im going back to doctor but wondering if people have any other ideas? i thought maybe RSI or carpal tunnel, my chiropractor thinks it could be arthitis.
217229 tn?1192762404 Kid wakes me up - THIS morning - tells me, "Oh yeah -- I'm first chair tonight at the Orchestra." "Uhm" Scratching sleep out of eyes, "What Orchestra?" "Tonight Mom." She throws cello in big padded bag over shoulder and stomps out... Comes back in room - hands me piece of green paper. "I kinda forgot to give you this last week." "I see... What the heck does this say?" Eyes haven't cleared enough to even focus yet.
Avatar m tn Yah, I took all that junk at 12 and it's now 1300 and I'm about to keel over. Sonata or lunesta both work for me, ambien did too when that's what I could get. But only when mixed with the other stuff. Folks have told me that my 'cocktail' is going to make my liver fail and that that's a very painful death. The death part doesn't bother me, but I don't want my last awareness to be one of pain.
Avatar f tn I am depressed over this as well as postpartum issues and have just been put on Celexa for anxiety and depression as well as Sonata for sleep by a recommended psychiatrist. The Sonata is too short-acthing though. I called the doc on call but he does not want to prescribe anything stronger until tomorrow, if adding melatonin and/or benadryl does not help. I am currently wearing a holter monitor and have also worn en event monitor recently.
