solumedrol for head trauma

What I need to help me keep going is that there is something in common with all 3 even though they were not looking for anything. If someone could give me an idea of what I am looking at head trauma, maybe it will be enough to keep going to hope for a miracle for a doctor that will help me.

She seems to respond to voices. There was no visible bleeding, or swelling to any part of the body or head. she cant afford for emergency services for the kitten, any information you can offer would be helpful.

This is my first time posting but I am very nervous about the condition of my baby. On Friday night my 3 yr old Yorkie, 'Dash', came running towards me in excitement - he jumped up and slipped - hitting his head so very hard on our tile. My mom, bf and I looked down at him and it looked like he was having a small seizure - he was stiff and unresponsive. We rushed him to the emergency clinic where they gave him some medicine for the head swelling & put him on IV.

He was involoved in a motorcycle accident a year ago, striking his head. Can this condition be caused by accidental head trauma striking ones head (with a helmet on) after being thrown off of a motorcycle in an auto accident?

You can consult a doctor for these conditions to get medication but if you can handle it try not to get into medication instead try other therapies like acupuncture etc., consider yourself lucky if you dont have other symptoms ( i suffer from many symptoms constant dizziness, fatigue, neck pain etc.,) so in my case medication is not that successful since it increased my symptoms and i got more depressed.

Searching, I found you and am excited that there is a group that may actually be able to answer some of my questions. The first thing he wants to do is put me on solumedrol for 5 days, I am not currently in a flair. Any reason I should put myself through that if I am not currently having symptoms?

However, the last infusion was not followed with Prednisone and it was the worst few weeks I have ever been through as the pain in my head did not abate (which was the main reason for the infusion in the first place) and I started having pain I think was related to Trigeminal Neuralgia in my face and gums. It was horrible. I also started to have severe fatigue upon awakening in the morning which is very frustrating.

ve had a horrible experience with Solumedrol as well.....Back in March I had extreme leg and groin numbness and went on IV Solumedrol for 3 days....I had a nasty reaction to it, but it DID take away the numbness and vision problems almost immediately....Well, within 48 hours anyway..... In May the left side of my head and face went numb and because I was visiting the MS Clinic at that time, I declined the Solumedrol treatment.....That numbness didn't go away for 20 days.....

My doctor prescribed another round of Solumedrol which is scheduled for next week (30 days from the first one). I am trying to decide whether I want to do the 2nd round of Solumedrol. It made me feel horrible and was a miserable 4 or 5 days. I guess my question is whether the 2nd round would be beneficial at this point or if the lingering effects are something I am going to have to deal with from now on. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

is she still a kitten? for a kitten I would be sure to give her 4-5oz of food for an adult she will need more like 10-12oz daily, broken up into smaller feedings...and the liquids too. I hope your Vet will give you some advice and guidance on this.

Hi my kitten just got diagnosed with head trauma and its been 2 days already. The doctor has advised us to wait and see and that she can get better. I want to know from all those who have gone through this what signs of improvement should i look for and in how many days please. She keeps on crying in a funny voice and my sister who is a nurse says she is suffering too much and i should consider puttinh her down. Please help.

30 my sisters dog bit her head protecting food, she flopped over with her tongue hanging out panting, I thought her neck was broken at first. My roommate and I rushed her to the emergency vet, where they told us she has head trauma and they were going to keep her for overnight observation while giving her pain meds, Iv fluids and mannitol. They called at 7:30 in the morning to say she hasn't shown any improvement, but she hadn't gotten worse either.

Anytime there is a possibility of head trauma, time is of the essence. Trauma to the head causes swelling to the brain in the skull. There is not enough room for the brain to swell so it can cause seizures and death. Steroids to keep the inflamation down are a must if the animal is going to survive severe head trauma. If you ever suspect head trauma immediate veterinary care is crucial to stop swelling. No amount of supportive care can stop the brain from swelling.

My mother just finished 3 days of IV soluMedrol on Thursday. She woke this am (Sunday) to find her whole right side of her face swollen up to just below the eye and advised it was very painful. She had very little energy, could not get comfortable and began taking Aleve.

I had solumedrol for the first time three weeks ago. After the first two days, I started feeling really shaky. That was the worst. I also started to feel queasy. I think it was from my lack of sleep. I did not get a taper dose. Once that wore off I did feel better. I think there is residual disability from this last flare. My legs aren't working as well and I still get tired easily. Starting copaxone hopefully next week. Good lick.

I have noticed that on the solumedrol thatnthe swelling and pain goes away for a day or two then starts to come back and raise it's ugly head. I finally took a picture of it at it's largest point and showed it to the gp. He said something about thyroid Titus and or ridsuals from the RAI? whe. I saw the dr the thyroid was only slightly swollen because I had just had 500 mg of solumedrol 54 hrs abfore walking in to his office.

He has a friend who had an aneurysm due to a paintball injury. How likely is it for him to develop an aneurysm in this area of his head? Do you think he may just have some brain trauma that will resolve in a few weeks?

I am scheduled Monday to do an IV for three days of Solumedrol. Has anyone else done that and if so, what is your opinion. I am alittle nervous about it.

I know steroids can make you susceptible to infections, but has anyone developed a UTI on solumedrol? I had the unmistakable first inklings of one a bit ago. I rushed out for cranberry juice and a blueberry smoothie (blueberries are supposed to have the same effect as cranberries, and it's a good excuse for a fruit smoothie!!) and I'm hoping I can keep it at bay this way, but I guess I'll know in a few hours. These things tend to come on fast for me.
