solumedrol

Avatar n tn Hoping someone knows a little about this and maybe shed some light. I am a medic in the military and EMT and I have never heard unequal pupils being normal. But again, there are no other symptoms that I have noticed and I am not a doctor of pediatrics.
6012171 tn?1381679620 You will have no immune system during that time so avoid contact with anyone with the flu. Look up DMSO, which is available in a cream in many alterrnative medicine stores. Never use it UNDILUTED or in less than medical grade. But you must not have on ANY makeup whatsoever. It will drive the chemicals in the make-up into the bloodstream. DMSO is a far more powerful anti-inflammatory than prednisone.
Avatar f tn I just read some stuff Quix posted in 2008 about having solumedrol at home...scary. Today I went to the neuro and he said I am getting worse. I knew I had 2 new lesions, but some other things have been happening. He gave me an order to have home health come and do it, but unless they administer it and stay with me each of the 3 days, I think I'd rather be more comfortable at the hospital as out patient as I usually do. Tomorrow I also get to go get a foot brace for drop foot..how fun.
Avatar f tn He is 4 years old and the dent has not gone away. It’s noticeable at the right angle and in the sunlight. His pediatrician says nothing about it. He’s a healthy boy with no issues medically. Just concerned the dent won’t ever go away and what should I do?
Avatar n tn Hello I am a 25 year old female and four weeks ago I was diagnosed with optic neuritis, I was admitted to the hospital for 5 days of IV solumedrol therapy (1000 mg a day). After the treatment my vision mostly came back and the eye pain was completely gone. At the same time I also had a burning arm pain in my right arm with numbness and tingling into my fingers. During my hospital stay I had an MRI of my head, which was normal.
Avatar f tn m walking straight up and down (or very nearly) instead of leaning to the right because of the weakness on my left leg. Also the tightness in my muscles in my left leg feels significantly better. Numbess is the same, but the dizziness also seems to be improving so far. I hope it lasts. :-) So quick question: I know steroids can make you susceptible to infections, but has anyone developed a UTI on solumedrol? I had the unmistakable first inklings of one a bit ago.
Avatar f tn Searching, I found you and am excited that there is a group that may actually be able to answer some of my questions. The first thing he wants to do is put me on solumedrol for 5 days, I am not currently in a flair. Any reason I should put myself through that if I am not currently having symptoms?
1172359 tn?1310667693 i am as of yet undiagnosed, but a recent MRI revealed inflammation in my spinal cord at the end of january. in response to those findings, i underwent a 3-day infusion of solu-medrol in early february. my neuro did not prescribe a tapering dose of oral prednisone and i *strongly* suggest you ask your doctor to do so. from what i have understood from others, a tapering dose of steroids would have made it a hell of a lot easier on me.

97654 tn?1214348650 ve had a horrible experience with Solumedrol as well.....Back in March I had extreme leg and groin numbness and went on IV Solumedrol for 3 days....I had a nasty reaction to it, but it DID take away the numbness and vision problems almost immediately....Well, within 48 hours anyway..... In May the left side of my head and face went numb and because I was visiting the MS Clinic at that time, I declined the Solumedrol treatment.....That numbness didn't go away for 20 days.....
Avatar f tn Has anyone found a current specialist for Chiari in the state of NC, besides Dr. Rosner who no longer practices?
Avatar m tn We live in Hungary (EU members). In the EU are more conservative in these things, so tysabri only "secondline" drug to treat MS in my country. I heard about this drug, it is very effective!
Avatar f tn My 6 year old daughter' dentist told me she has hpv in her mouth that will require surgery. How would a child get hpv? How common is it in children?
97654 tn?1214348650 I have decided not to do the found of Solumedrol at this time. I have felt better in the past 5 or 6 days than I have in some time and don't want to do something that I know will cause me to feel bad. If I see my MS symptoms getting worse I will reconsider at that point.
Avatar f tn I have just started takeing care of my mother in law who is in stage 4 breast cancer and her dr gave her Morphine SO4 IR 15mg one tablet every 3 hours and Morphine SO4 ER 30ENDO one tablet every 12 hours and I am confused on how to give them to her, she says I can give them to her at the same time and I am worried about it causing an overdose and I am having a hard time reaching her dr for instruction on how to give it to her, do i give her one first and then wait a few hours to give the other
Avatar f tn I had a 4 day Solumedrol drip and then step down pack in February and it made me worse. All my muscles tightened up and I have more pain than I did before. Call it a major fibromyalgia attack. Even now in May, I am still as stiff and woozy as i was after the glucocorticoid therapy. Sigh. Did nothing for me that I can tell. I did sweat a lot during the treatment so maybe i lost a few toxins?
Avatar f tn s office and was told that the Solumedrol is in your system for about 10 days but my symptoms would be noted and related to t he neuro...never heard back from them of course. The pain in my head has returned intermittently but usually only lasts a day at a time...the final IV infusion did nothing to rectify the pain...it was just time as usual.

Avatar f tn To help with sudden and severe balance problems, and leg weakness in January, I had the mega dose oral steroids for 3 days followed by the taper off. That didn't help, so I had the 3 day mega dose IV solumedrol. I did not do the tapering off pills, because I was having a reaction to the medicine. Since the end of February my ankles are swollen everyday, all day. I asked my neurologist, and she said it is a side effect of the solumedrol. Any one else experience this.....

195469 tn?1388322888 Hi Heather, Yes I have heard of it. My friend in the UK who has Chronic now - but many years ago was R&R, she ON in the left eye, had the IV, then a few weeks later - not sure how many, I'll have to call here and ask - she then had it in the right eye. So she had another IV, with that it was all clear for her. Maybe this information you can pass over to Cheryl??? Hope this helps?? If you want I can call my friend in the UK and get more details, just drop me a note.
Avatar m tn I was complaining to the endo befoe RAI and after RAI that there was a swelling in my throat that was causing pain in the thyroid area. Chocking sensation. Food gets stuck. I have noticed that on the solumedrol thatnthe swelling and pain goes away for a day or two then starts to come back and raise it's ugly head. I finally took a picture of it at it's largest point and showed it to the gp. He said something about thyroid Titus and or ridsuals from the RAI? whe.
