Avatar f tn However, the symptoms did not disappear completely so I was eventually diagnosed with OAB. I am on tropsium chloride, which is very helpful, but I have a few questions: 1) I had assumed the OAB was caused by the coil since its removal made the symptoms so much better, but my doctor looked at me strangely when I mentioned it so was it just a coincidence? I hate to self-diagnose but I got curious and researched.
Avatar m tn “In people with an overactive bladder (OAB), the layered, smooth muscle that surrounds the bladder (detrusor muscle) contracts spastically, sometimes without a known cause, which results in sustained, high bladder pressure and the urgent need to urinate (called urgency).” “A malfunctioning detrusor muscle causes overactive bladder.

Avatar n tn Hi, You may have either overactive bladder or interstitial cystitis. Per your history you clearly don't have a UTI, STD or other infection. Your urnialysis is essentially normal. Frequency and urgency is the hallmark of overactive bladder (OAB) and about a third of patients have incontinence when they can't make it to the bathroom. Patients with (OAB) can also complain of a bladder spasm type sensation in the bladder.
Avatar f tn hi, I'm 22, female. after having 2 cistoscopies last summer for a hamaturia I was left with OAB. the doctors said everything is fine but I can't manage to fully recover. I don't have UTI and I don't have any problem sleeping. the urgency is due to stress ( in public, at school, when other people are around), thong, pants and traveling by car but sometimes even when I walk. I never had leakage but I'm terrified of having one.

Avatar m tn In a word "Yes". The bigger question is: can you remember to take it twice a day...at the proper time? If so, then you can ask your doctor for the chance to try it.

Avatar n tn HI, You sound like you have the classic symptoms of overactive bladder. Overactive bladder (OAB) is driven by the strong ugency to urinate. It commonly causes urinary frequency and many patients get up at night to void. About a thrid of overactive bladder patients can't make it to the toilet and leak urine on the way.
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed me trazodone hydrochloride for anxiety, sumatriptan succinate for migraines, zopiclone for sleep, I've been told I can take the trazodone with zopiclone, but I have the new sumatriptan tablets, it says in the medical pamphlet that it is an MAO-A inhibitor and can't be taken with antidepressants/anxiety tablets. Would it be ok to take both the trazodone hydrochloride and the sumatriptin succinate together?
Avatar m tn Morning - Olmesartan (H) 40mg, Metoprolol Succinate Extended Release 25mg; Evening - Olmesartan 40mg, Metoprolol Succinate Extended Release 25mg. Now, I have been further prescribed for 30 days, which I have started taking: Eltroxin 25mg empty stomach & Zyloric 100mg after breakfast. Kindly advise further.
Avatar m tn I decided for a 2nd opinion at a urologist and she agreed stress was the biggest culprit but thinks I could also have an OAB. Mind you I had a clean UTI at all the doctors, a good exam at my gyn but she sent me for ultrasound which was normal, and I had blood work done for all things including diabetes. Although my glucose came in at 101 and under 99 is the norm it wasn't cause for concern. I was worried about Intersitital Cystitis but both uro's dismissed it.
Avatar f tn Overactive bladder (OAB) treatment has many approaches, from medication, to behavioral changes, to a combination of both. Have you discussed the natural way with your doctor? Bladder training and pelvic floor exercises are just two natural treatments for overactive bladder. Research suggests that these non-drug remedies can cut overactive bladder episodes by about half, and they have almost no side effects. With combination treatment, there is a better chance of treating OAB.
Avatar m tn It is succinate, btw. is the succinate supposed to be extended release? It doesnt seem to be releasing at all.
Avatar f tn m Diabatic for 10 yrs. Now in control. Not hypertensive. Have OAB for last 40 years. No prostate issues too. But the foamy urine freaks me out. Please advice.
Avatar n tn I take the toprol xl and I use the generic and it cost me roughly $20 and I take 125mg twice a day. but you must make sure it is the generic for toprol xl because there is metoprolol succinate which is the generic for toprol xl and metoprolol tartrate which is the generic for lopressor. They both work in two different ways so they can not be interchanged at the same dose. I asked this question before toprol xl became a generic.
Avatar m tn My docror reduced my Diovan to 40 mg and gave me Metoprolol Succinate 25 mg because he said my resting heart rate was in the upper 80's. I started having strange feelings while sleeping, like my heart or stomach was shivering and I used to wake up at night after a few hours of sleep because of this feeling. I was still feeling dizzy and I wanted to stop the Diovan or the Metoprolol Succinate. My cardiologist said I should continue the Metoprolol succ and I can stop the Diovan.
Avatar f tn In an attempt to avoid an ablation for SVTs & going to the Emergency Department lately once a month to get converted with IV medication, (I'm older with co-morbidities, there's a pandemic, & really, my ElectroPhysiologist doesn't have a lot of experience doing ablations), my EP & I are trying different medications. I'm increasing metoprolol succinate (the extended release one) from 25 mg to 37.5 mg.
Avatar n tn Ok here goes: I'm 28/female, pretty healthy ... on 10/6, about 1 week before I was to leave for Vegas I was extremely nervous about flying. Out of the blue I started having frequent urination problems. No urgency (meaning I could hold it if I had too) but just frequent trips to the bathroom. No real pain or anything. I have an underlying anxiety disorder that is not controlled and I did start to panic about these symptoms which in turn probably made them worse.
Avatar f tn I have been with the same manufacturer of metoprolol succinate for 2 years and had no problems and now they went out of business and the new manufacturer of the same medication isn't working for me!
Avatar n tn But I developed a very embarrassing facial blushing problem which was helped by taking beta blockers (metoprolol succinate). Finally, around October 2010, my levels began to go hypo (TSH=13.8). So he put me on 25 mg levothyroxine and 50 mg metoprolol succinate. I will get my blood checked tomorrow but I bet it will show hypo. I think he will up my dose to 50 mg synthroid which will be good because I'm suffering from constipation and sluggishness and other hypo problems.
Avatar f tn It may just be anxiety, are you nervous or anything. You don't sound old enough for OAB, and doesn't sound like urinary or kdney problem, may be anxiety.
