Avatar f tn Hi. I'm just curious in people's opinions of something. I am an ex smoker. No longer have the habit. My child's daycare have been taught that smoking kills people etc.. so move away from people if they're smoking. A lot of parents from the daycare have come in abusing the child care Centre as they're smokers and there young children keep telling them they're going to die.

Avatar f tn This may be a good opportunity to start educating your 2 year old on the dangers of cigarette smoking. Teach him not to ever pick them up, especially when he’s older and others around him may be smoking.
Avatar f tn I disagree with the comment that we should accept it and not try to educate people about the dangers of smoking while pregnant. There are a lot of really young moms on here and notall do know all the risks with smoking.
Avatar f tn If that does not make your husband care enough to quit or at least to go outside to smoke and to change his shirt before holding the baby, I don't know what will.
Avatar f tn Not only is the action of smoking itself is detrimental to the health of the baby, but we do not know how cannabis intake can affect the developing brain.I understand that smoking is extremely addictive, but there are certain things we do for our kid that are very hard, and one of them is being pregnant, taking care of our bodies while pregnant and nursing (and I am not even talking about giving birth!). That is only the start of a difficult life of a parent.
Avatar n tn i am a 16 year old diabetic type 1 who would like to know the dangers of smoking cannabis?
Avatar m tn So I'm about to get health insurance for the first time, soon. I had a quick question about smoking. I've only smoked for the past month or so, ever in my life. Maybe had 6 or 7 packs total. I've since quit and won't be continuing it. Nasty habit. Now, I don't want to be charged outrageous premiums for smoking but I also don't want to lie on my application either.
Avatar n tn Is this your puppy? Or someone else's, and you are worried about the environment she lives in? Marijuana is generally not a good idea for dogs. But if it is occasional, the smoke is the odd wisp here and there (rather than a room constantly or completely fogged-up with smoke), there's plenty of fresh air circulating in her environment, and she gets plenty of outdoor time, then catching the odd wisp here and there will probably not do her too much harm.
Avatar f tn Since your only 7 weeks. It's best to stop now. Smoking during pregnancy is not safe, neither is smoking after you have you baby, especially if your going to be breastfeeding. There's Ton's of information about why you should smoke while pregnant. Do alil research & youll understand why its best to quit, for your heath & your babies health. Good luck momma!

Avatar f tn Hi ladies I have a question, me and my hubby used to smoke hookah alot but ever since I found I was pregnant I obviously stopped, I am 34wks pregnant and my hubby recently started Smoking hookah again but the VAPORIZOR one, the one that you smoke out the pen.
Avatar n tn During the winter my father heats the house with a wood stove. knowing what I know about the dangers of smoking (even though I still smoke outside) I began to wonder, with winter weather already going on in my neck of the woods, if the smoke from the wood stove might be as dangerous for his health as the smoke from my Marlboro. I've been doing some research about wood burning stoves and people with heart conditions.
Avatar n tn This development mandates an immediate end to smoking. Needless to say you also need an evaluation by a pulmonary specialist, as well as a cardiologist. It may be cancer or a cardiac problem, but the chances are it is not. Only a proper evaluation will determine this. There are medications available that will open up the alveoli and permit normal breathing, but the important factor is to end the smoking at once.
Avatar f tn Tea tree oil chewing sticks and black licorice root (which can be purchased at a health store) help greatly to calm the urges to smoke. It can take 8 min for the strongest urge to subside. Chew on a black licorice root, don't hang out with ppl who smoke for awhile. Find out what ur triggers are and replace them with new, healthier habbits. And most of all, don't feel guilty if u relapse, u can always try again. Dev new coping methods. I hope this may be helpful to sum of u!!!!
Avatar n tn Hi and welcome to the forum! I'm sorry you had such terrible injuries. Sounds like you might be lucky to be alive. Why not celebrate your life by giving up those smokes completely. Smoking one or two cigs a day will just prolong your cravings forever and ever and soon you will be smoking full time again. If your intent is to quit, why not start using one of the smoking aids offered today if you feel you can't get through the cravings.
1831849 tn?1383228392 I guess it can be hard to find the smoking gun unless there is a willingness to allow the eye to follow the smoke all the way into the barrel. I don't want drugs to be unavailable simply because of potential risk. I want to be warned of legitimate dangers and then allowed to determine (with the guidance of my physician) the degree of risk I am comfortable accepting. I'm sure this is a good drug for some PwMS. MS has already attacked my brain stem.

Avatar f tn An older woman I know recently learned that her husband was smoking crack and using her car to get get the drugs. She learned this when she was walking out to her car and people started shooting at her car. Luckily there are only bullet holes in her car and not in her body. I would certainly suggest calling the police the next time you smell this going on so they can be caught in the act. You don't need this around your baby - born or unborn.
Avatar m tn No, Nicotine is the drug in tobacco leaves. Whether someone smokes, chews, or sniffs tobacco, he or she is delivering nicotine to the brain. Each cigarette contains about 10 milligrams of nicotine. Nicotine is what keeps people smoking despite its harmful effects. Because the smoker inhales only some of the smoke from a cigarette and not all of each puff is absorbed in the lungs, a smoker gets about 1 to 2 milligrams of the drug from each cigarette.
