Avatar f tn Is it ok to drink slim fast while pregnant? I have gained too much weight so far. I started out tiny and now my mid section is huge! I'm not looking to lose weight but eating hurts. My lower back is in excruciating pain and I know it's from the weight gain and due to my belly sticking so far out. I'm only 25 weeks pregnant and I feel the only option is to eat tiny meals to keep up my energy because after I eat my stomach feels so tight b it just hurts.
Avatar f tn Most likely just a growing boy. I have two sons myself and wow, my grocery bill!! And as they get older, expect this to get worse. A round 12 plus when puberty hits . . . oh my. Unless there is something that is causing a red flag to his doctor, I wouldn't worry. Is he really active? My boys are in sports and have been for years. They have always been run and play kind of kids (although they can veg out with screen time too, sigh).
Avatar f tn And if you have to go to a fast food place they usually have some sort of grilled chicken snack wraps or salads. Like Kristi said, those kind bars are really good. They have those at the counter at Starbucks too.
1110747 tn?1295844043 I actually asked a pharmacist if it was ok to take, and she said that it causes a lot of problems with people. If you read the back you'll see a list of possible side effects. If I were you I'd try something like slim fast. I went to their website and they say it's ok to take before you get pregnant and even while you are pregnant, there's nothing in it to make you lose weight it's just a milk shake and the snack bars are like a not so junky candy bar.

1279364 tn?1280682588 m counting points but I am also chugging back a weight loss shake everyday as part of those points. There is no way I could ever do the Slim-Fast plan or anything like it. I just like the amount of nutrients in the form of chocolate milk i can get! Makes a great difference if I need a boost before working out or just need something to keep me going while I make dinner. ^_^ Anyways, some of them certainly don't taste very good. My favorite so far comes from Wal-Mart.
1303567 tn?1273720124 Its much more filling than normal snack bars but has 100% folic acid and a bunch of other vitamins. If I weren't able to take prenatal vitamins I'd be confident I was getting the important stuff.
Avatar f tn I gof some little chewy bars but its still not helping my taste buds I dont know what I want first its guacomole then its cookies then I want popsicles but soon as I get what I want I dont eat it this food situation is getting to,me I always feel hungry but dont feel like eating
Avatar f tn Nah, I have some fiber bars and granola bars (along with a jug of water) next to my bed. =-P That way I won't feel as hungry and can go back to bed If I wake up In the middle of the night hungry.

Avatar f tn i am losing the battle against calorie intake. I know you're not supposed to go over 2,200 calories per day..... but how? Every once in a while I go over and I'll feel super guilty. I do protein shakes, protein bars, healthy snacks and no meals and extra water. I don't regularly give in to cravings either. It is hard when all I can think about is my next snack. What do you do to stay under 2,200? Any recommendations to ease the pain of the calorie count?
Avatar f tn Well, my boy is 3.5 and still loves to sit in his stroller when he gets tired or needs a snack when we're out and about. I don't want him to feel that his sister is taking everything away from him so we are keeping to a double. We bought na adaptable stroller in the first place so all we need is a second seat, just have a capsule adapter for now :) Go by what your daughter prefers i reckon.
655875 tn?1295695107 Slim Fast was getting difficult to stay on track. I found myself cheating on the diet. My friend told me about the protien shake that Dr. Oz uses. There are a few recipes on his website. Right now I am using the Ultimate Breakfast Smoothie. It tastes awesome and it actually keeps me full for over 6 hours. I have zero cravings for food and sweets. I've cut back my dinner portion.
Avatar m tn My 7 yr. old son has been lying alot and just recently started steeling food. Or, at least I think it's recent. I found 17 snack wrappers in his room under his bed,during a "mom" clean. I asked him about it and we talked. He said he was taking the food because he was still hungry or because I didn't make dessert. I tried to explain that we don't get dessert everyday and if he's still hungry he can have more dinner. I thought we had settled the issue, until this evening.

637356 tn?1301924822 yeah, my nutritionist told me its best to have a varied diet, not one that only focuses on one particular food group, such as protein. my mother in law went on the atkins a few years ago and she literally never ate carbs, her hair started looking dull and falling out, her skin got real dry, and a whole lot of other stuff going on. and it just didn't sound healthy, like for her snack she would throw strips of bacon in a ziplock back and toss in her purse....
Avatar f tn another thing that helps me make it between meals is to make a slim fast shake. they are meant to replace meals so they have lots of protein and other nutrients. it helps me make it from lunch to dinner and then often I eat less at dinner because I'm still full!
Avatar f tn Welcome to the community. Try walking at a reasonable pace. Also look into yoga as it's low impact and done at a slow very deliberate pace. Be sure to watch what you eat as well - might also help the e-coli infection.
Avatar n tn Yes what he said by cutting out sugar an soda you'd be amazed how fast you could slim down even just a little bit, I've done this I've had friends that done it an they look amazing! Try more fruits an veggies drink more water lot of times when we think we're hungry we also just need water it can fill that void an help you eat less as well.
Avatar f tn re more likely to get gestational diabetes that way, but honestly I worked as a cashier for my first pregnancy and NEVER brought my own snack for my break, so I ate like 2 candy bars a day with him like 4-5 times a week haha, he turned out perfectly healthy. All things are okay in moderation.
