Avatar f tn oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.
Avatar n tn I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.
Avatar f tn Thank you thank you thank you for the book info...I will see if it's at my local library first..(as that's where I get most of my reading material).. There is a LOT of controversy about my condition (MPS) AND Tramadol. Which makes it even more complicated and confusing in my treatment/pain mgmt experience..I agree with you about the psychological effects... Hence, my reading the book on TMS (which is also controversial)...UGH!
Avatar f tn I have a very high tolerance when it comes to medication. I have a pinch nerve on my left shoulder (going to get it Xray to see what it really is), which only gets aggravated when I'm stress or overwork it in the gym. My Dr has tried Flexeril, Skelaxin, 500 mg of naproxen and it hasn't work. Now she prescribe tramadol. I have read bad things about it and its side effects. Everything is dated from a few years ago, so I would like update from anyone that is taking it.
Avatar f tn Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!
Avatar m tn I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.
Avatar f tn The doctor put me on Tramadol for pain and made an appt. with my regular MD April 5th. I am scared because heart disease runs in my family, hypertension and stroke, some diabetes. I feel it would be wise for me to see my orthopaedist about my leg and see a specialist about my BP, cardiologist maybe. I have a heart murmur have since childhood, leaky valve, mitral valve prolapse.
Avatar f tn Anyone have any good recommendations for helping dull the pain...I have tried all the antidepresants and tricyclic antidepressants and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and anticonvulsants and ibuprofen and naproxen and tramadol and all combos and I am feeling lost can't hardly move some days...please help with any suggestions.
Avatar n tn I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know. I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".
Avatar m tn My doc just gave me Skelaxin for my back pain and said it might help. I have been trying to cut back taking hydro and I don't want to take anything that is going to make me woosey. I started into therapy last week and it is really making my back hurt. The nurosurgeon I saw said I have from L-1 to S-1 messed up and he does not think surgery would help any. So he just said take the hydro because your not taking that many (only 3 a day 7.
Avatar f tn t take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms) Thanks!
Avatar m tn The muscle relaxer the dr gave me is Skelaxin. Anybody else ever try this. I read on drug ******* the reviews and some people said it really helped without making them dizzy like most of them do. Man I sure hope it helps so I can keep weening off the hydros.
Avatar m tn Anyone know anything about skelaxin? My doc just sent a script for that To my pharmacy in place of soma....
450140 tn?1317947304 Today, my neuro suggested i try SKELAXIN (muscle relaxer) for the spasams I am experiencing. I will start those tomorrow. It says take 3x a day, every 8 hours. And if need be a 4th one can be taken. Does this sound right ........every 8 hours?? Please tell me what you think. I pray that everyone is doing ok. This limboland is really taking its toll on me and my family. Have not worked since Jan. that is putting a strain on us finacially. Not to mention, all the worry about my health.
Avatar m tn This past December I pulled a muscle in my back which turned into a muscle spasm. I was prescribed Diclofenac SO EC 50 mg, Skelaxin 800 mg, Tramadol HCL 50 mg. Two days after taking my medications I had a bad reaction with a 103 degree temperature. I went back to the doctor and he said it wasn't due to the meds and blamed it on bronchitis right after saying that I didn't have symptoms of bronchitis. Another doctor confirmed it was due to a bad reaction to the meds.
Avatar f tn I am here to share my story of my addition/weening experiences with TRAMADOL. I was initially prescribed Tramadol/50mg/2x/day for chronic back/neck pain..which lead to same dose/4x/day. About a year or so ago, I was able to cut that down to same dose/2x day. (Although I had some withdrawal symptoms (w/d's included, anxiety, sweating, lethargy, etc), I found it easier to do after a facet block procedure that I had done for my back pain.
Avatar m tn Hi, my name is Lukas, I am 18 years old (19 in September) and have an unusual case of neuromuscular pain that I've suffered from since I was 10 years old, but all of the doctors I've seen say that my condition could most likely be fibromyalgia or some type of chronic neuromuscular pain, but are still perplexed at my condition. I've already seen a Rheumatologist although the pain is not in the joints, just the muscles. I have also seen my family practitioner.
Avatar f tn As the result of a back injury in February, I began taking Soma and 10 mgs of hydrocodone at night to help me sleep. I took no pain killers during the day, just Skelaxin. I stopped taking Skelaxin several weeks ago and am now in the process of discontinuing the Hydrocodone. I took the last Soma and 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet several nights ago. This is my second round with trying to get off this med. The problem is the insomnia or sleeplessness that occurs in the middle of the night.
402205 tn?1230481005 I will try to avoid them right now tho because they make me sluggish and I am already fatigued with my cut in dose of hydrocodne..anything can be abused...skelaxin is a fairly safe muscle relaxer.....
Avatar m tn Felt bump and determined was musculoskeletal. Prescribed anti-inflammatory (Naproxen) and muscle relaxer (Skelaxin). Told me to take as needed (didn’t have to take the full bottle). Took prescriptions for 4 days, Skelaxin caused stomach cramping even when taken as directed. Urine test came back cloudy with high white blood cell count. Concluded was very dehydrated and sent off for tests to determine if infection was present. Also had me go in for blood tests.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Tramadol 50mg/2X -day almost 5 years ago for back/neck pain. After the first year, my dose was raised by my doctor to 50mg/4X-day...I reduced that back down to 2X day. I'm currently tapering 100mg/day with 50mg pills...and have gotten down to ONE 50mg pill... My question: Can someone tell me which is better to do??? Right now my current tapering dose is: 12.5mg/5xday = 62.5mg/daily down to 12.5mg/4xday=50mg Sooo...I have a 50mg pill to deal with now...

747493 tn?1249589956 I need some suggestions for pain relief. Lately my body has been soo stiff, like I've actually worked hard all day and my IBS is acting up terribly. I have tried Tramadol, T3's and Amitriptine (sorry can't spell it) but nothing seems to do the trick. I've also had bad sleeps, I can't remember the last time I've fallen asleep before 3am. I've done all the over-the-counter stuff but seriously I am suffering so bad as of late.
