Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!

I was prescribe Soma for many yers-I have 5 herniated disk, DDD, sciatica and Arthritis in my back. I get muscle spasms that are horrendous. The Soma DID work for me. Recently the FDA classified it as a narcotic, or at least put it in the same class. If you don't have muscle problems I would not take it. It is habit forming. Again, it is ONLY for muscle spasms or any other muscle problem. It will NOT help with the pain in your back.
I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.
I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know.
I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".
My doc just gave me Skelaxin for my back pain and said it might help. I have been trying to cut back taking hydro and I don't want to take anything that is going to make me woosey. I started into therapy last week and it is really making my back hurt. The nurosurgeon I saw said I have from L-1 to S-1 messed up and he does not think surgery would help any. So he just said take the hydro because your not taking that many (only 3 a day 7.
t take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms)

oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.
The muscle relaxer the dr gave me is Skelaxin. Anybody else ever try this. I read on drug ******* the reviews and some people said it really helped without making them dizzy like most of them do. Man I sure hope it helps so I can keep weening off the hydros.
I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.
As the result of a back injury in February, I began taking Soma and 10 mgs of hydrocodone at night to help me sleep. I took no pain killers during the day, just Skelaxin. I stopped taking Skelaxin several weeks ago and am now in the process of discontinuing the Hydrocodone. I took the last Soma and 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet several nights ago. This is my second round with trying to get off this med. The problem is the insomnia or sleeplessness that occurs in the middle of the night.
Felt bump and determined was musculoskeletal. Prescribed anti-inflammatory (Naproxen) and muscle relaxer (Skelaxin). Told me to take as needed (didn’t have to take the full bottle). Took prescriptions for 4 days, Skelaxin caused stomach cramping even when taken as directed. Urine test came back cloudy with high white blood cell count. Concluded was very dehydrated and sent off for tests to determine if infection was present. Also had me go in for blood tests.
I have 2 vertebrae that aren't connected so I've always had problems, but since I've been pregnant(I'm 25 weeks) my sciatica has been horrendous! I just cry and cry! My whole leg goes numb and it's the worst pain I've ever had in my left hip. I have medicine for it, but can't take it bc of the baby. What can I do for this? Tylenol doesn't touch it... I have three more months left and I don't see how I can keep doing this! Help!
Looking for any advice on sciatica. I'm in agony. My back keeps swelling up & the shooti g pai s in getting in my back & leg is total agony. I can't move when it happens & end up getting stuck on the sofa. Iv been prescribed codine but they do nothing apart from give me headache & make me drowsy.... Sick of the swelling & constant pain... Tried hot water bottle aswel..nothing working.
Is anybody else experiencing early sciatic nerve pain. I'm almost 13 weeks and sometimes its so bad I can't walk. I have to have my husband help me to the bathroom and in the shower because I can't bend over to wash bottom half. I had sciatica issues with first pregnancy but not until much later. Just curious if anybody else is experiencing this so early.
I've always had sciatica but after power walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes. The next day I had a flare up so bad every time I took a step all I felt was that intense shooting pain from my tail bone to the bottom of my right cheek.
Has anyone else suffered from this? Is there any thing that has helped any of yous dealing w this?
I work at a physical therapy clinic so I've tried stretches at reaches all that good stuff.
Not a question but good lord is this sciatica horrible. Only 17 weeks and I'm in sooo much pain. This pregnancy is going to take FOREVER!
What are some methods y'all used to help relieve sciatica pain??
I have a really irritating pain going from my back down my left leg and it's beginning to drive me crazy. I'm only 7 weeks gone, is this sciatica or could it be something else? Is there anything I can do to relieve the pain?
