Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!
I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.
My doc just gave me Skelaxin for my back pain and said it might help. I have been trying to cut back taking hydro and I don't want to take anything that is going to make me woosey. I started into therapy last week and it is really making my back hurt. The nurosurgeon I saw said I have from L-1 to S-1 messed up and he does not think surgery would help any. So he just said take the hydro because your not taking that many (only 3 a day 7.

I was prescribe Soma for many yers-I have 5 herniated disk, DDD, sciatica and Arthritis in my back. I get muscle spasms that are horrendous. The Soma DID work for me. Recently the FDA classified it as a narcotic, or at least put it in the same class. If you don't have muscle problems I would not take it. It is habit forming. Again, it is ONLY for muscle spasms or any other muscle problem. It will NOT help with the pain in your back.
I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know.
I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".
t take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms)

oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.
The muscle relaxer the dr gave me is Skelaxin. Anybody else ever try this. I read on drug ******* the reviews and some people said it really helped without making them dizzy like most of them do. Man I sure hope it helps so I can keep weening off the hydros.
I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.
As the result of a back injury in February, I began taking Soma and 10 mgs of hydrocodone at night to help me sleep. I took no pain killers during the day, just Skelaxin. I stopped taking Skelaxin several weeks ago and am now in the process of discontinuing the Hydrocodone. I took the last Soma and 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet several nights ago. This is my second round with trying to get off this med. The problem is the insomnia or sleeplessness that occurs in the middle of the night.
I have searched the internet looking for people with similar problems to what I am experiencing but was unsuccessful. As I began my physical therapy, I experienced pretty intense muscle spasms on the muscle below my shoulder blade. Im not sure what this muscle is, but was told it was a major muscle relating to the rotator cuff? As time went on, and physical therapy went on, I have been unable to stop these spasms and reduce the "knot".
my legs will be so sore for about 3 days. last night i took a 10mg vailum and then later a skelaxin. all this was while awake.
I am a 31 yr old female who has been having problems with pain. I have been having a lot of pain in my neck for which I went to physical therapy for. It helped some but the pain comes back priodically. My C6 & C7 are showing signs of being degeneratve. I have been having discomfort in all of my joints but the most pain is in my right elbow. At times I cannot even extend it to is full length without pain shooting up and down my arm. I have also been told I have onset of carpel tunnel.

I get winded at the most unexpected time when Im talking or eating or sometimes sitting in a chair I lose my voice and start coughing I cant sing anymore My arms feel weak and heavy from the shoulder down and I thought I was fine till last summer I started having weird spells they thought tia and seizures but pretty much ruled it out so I have been on synthroid and vit d for a year now I have diagnosis of hypothyroid and mild diabetes and that was before the spell s started well tia and seizu
Ellie is right that about different drugs not working.
I've never tried Skelaxin but I am under the impression it's similar to flexeril and soma. Flexeril offers me a small amount of relief, and soma offers me about 10x that amt however I developed an addiction to the soma and had to get off of it.
my pain mgmt doctor has suggested Voltaren Gel (also called "diclofenac", it's an NSAID) and it goes on the skin.
I have to take ambien or unisom to sleep most nights.
I have been getting an aura in both eyes (like a migraine aura with no headache that lasts about 15minutes to a half hour) since I was told to increase my neurontin, daily,but I was also put on Celebrex and Skelaxin at the same time. I've been off of Skelaxin since March 2010. I went off of Celebrex first as I read an article that was in a New Zealand journal of medicine that said it causes rare (9/300 people) visual disturbance.
I have taken muscle relaxers, migraine meds, prednisone (6 days) and more and more Skelaxin. I started seeing a neurologist two weeks ago and he put me on the prednisone and skelaxin he also did a MRI (w/o contrast) that came back negative.
I also had hiv oraquick one and it was negative. Could it be another organ having problems. My urine test was normal. No infections, no bacterias. Please help...I have gotten chills in my arms twice in the last couple of weeks while sleeping. I am taking azythromicin for my sinuses and skelaxin for my inflammation. Has anyone ever had these symptoms?. What else could I do?
