skelaxin

Avatar f tn Skelaxin helps me out with that. Compared to the opiates I just got off of, I get absolutely no buzz from Skelaxin. It just makes me a bit tired. Not my idea of a recreational drug at all. ...now Flexiril, that's another story. I tried that out, taking a 10mg. Next thing I knew, it was the next day! I slept probably 10 hours, and had a druggy hangover for another half-day.
Avatar m tn patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago. I tKe it as prescribed I have never gone over the maximum dose, I am just concerned about possible withdrawal or anything like that from skelaxin.
Avatar m tn Skelaxin I got prescribed when I got in a car accident for a muscle relaxer, It didnt really do much of anything but make me feel like gumby, drunk and out of it. Its not for chronic or severe pain BUT it is for MUSCLE pain, like muscle spasms. From being a former EMT (Paramedic) I know it works in the brain to help with the relaxation of muscle pain, its also used for physical therapy with people with back problems.
Avatar f tn was taking the tram for degenerative disk disease in the neck so i was wondering, is this a symptom of w/d? or is this the pain that i am to endure after being clean? this *****.
Avatar f tn It all depends on the source of your pain and the type of pain you're having. First of all, you're already on an antidepressant, so I'm not sure whether you can even take another one, like Cymbalta, or Triavil. . and Triavil has Amitriptyline in it. So, if the Amitriptyline is working for you at all, I can't see a reason to switch to another one. The Gabitril and Neurontin will only help most likely, if you're having nerve-related pain....
Avatar f tn Hi and sorry about your neck/back injury. Flexeril does work a lot better. I was on it for 9 months. It wasn't too hard to get off of. Skelaxin didn't work as well for me either but did work some as I felt it after I got of of it. For short term I would take Flexeril at night (5mg). Apparently Skelaxin doesn't work for you.Flexeril only works for 3 weeks then it is a sleeping pill really. I would go on an off as needed.
Avatar n tn I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know. I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".
Avatar m tn I think my biggest battle is to control the pain and get out of my head about it. And that sad part for me is not being able to work out. That was my Cymbalta. Working out saved my mind and soul now I cant really do it cause I am sick. UGH.
Avatar m tn Sometimes I get so tired of being a slave to these drugs and often find myself in a terrible position, such as going on vacation out of state and having my script run out in the middle of my trip and not being able to fill one until I return home! These medications can impose such limitations on your life that are so inconvenient at times, but on the other hand, I would be in a wheel chair without them and would not even be functional enough to take care of myself and my family.
Avatar n tn I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.
Avatar m tn He did give me some muscle relaxers that they thought might help because I have a knot in the lower muscle of my back. May be they can help and I can stop taking the hydros for a while. They told me they were new, as soon as I pick them up I will see if any of you guys have tried them before. Wish me luck.
Avatar f tn I stopped taking Skelaxin several weeks ago and am now in the process of discontinuing the Hydrocodone. I took the last Soma and 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet several nights ago. This is my second round with trying to get off this med. The problem is the insomnia or sleeplessness that occurs in the middle of the night. As I type this it is 3:45 and I've been up since 2:15. I am having difficulty functioning at work because I am exhausted.
402205 tn?1230481005 I will try to avoid them right now tho because they make me sluggish and I am already fatigued with my cut in dose of hydrocodne..anything can be abused...skelaxin is a fairly safe muscle relaxer.....
Avatar m tn My headaches are daily and are manageable for about 90% of the time, the other 10% is debilitating and takes me out of work. Any help or recommendations are appreciated.
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribe Imitrex by the fifth day but it was out of control. Then she gave me something else that just knocked me out but the pain was still pretty bad. Two weeks later I was in a neurologist's office being diagnosed with the transfer migraine. She tried to hospitalize me but I wouldn't go for it - still being silly. Anyway, bunch of tests and meds later, it's still with me. Tried the hospital last week but it didn't work out.
Avatar m tn This headache is different - most of mine are located at the front or sides of my head and this one is in the back to the top of my head. I have taken muscle relaxers, migraine meds, prednisone (6 days) and more and more Skelaxin. I started seeing a neurologist two weeks ago and he put me on the prednisone and skelaxin he also did a MRI (w/o contrast) that came back negative.
Avatar f tn She has stated she has no feelings and goes out with her work friends drinking just to feel something. She out of the blue wants a divorce and seems not to care who she hurts. I know she is clean due to her job requiring monthly drug checks. I just need to know can this drug cause this even a year after she stopped taking it.
676302 tn?1237863491 I am wondering what is the name of the muscke relaxer that helps everyone. I have been taking cyclobenzaprine an all it does is makes me sleepy. It doesn't relax my muscles and right now I am really having a problem with the spams. Any help you can give please.
Avatar m tn My pain clinic is no longer writing for soma. I have had flexeril, robaxin, skelaxin before and they aren't as effective. What can I try?

Avatar n tn I think that if you doctor didn't check out your shoulder in spite of your complaint about it. If after having done surgery, within that short time you have swelling an dpain, and your doctor doesn't check it out, that isn't good. whenever I have a doctor that does that, I get a different doctor. I don't go to a doctor so that he can be paid to listen to himself talk. :) I've had been doctor experiences and am suffering from lingering bitterness.
