skelaxin

Avatar m tn I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.
Avatar f tn t work for you.Flexeril only works for 3 weeks then it is a sleeping pill really. I would go on an off as needed.
Avatar m tn Skelaxin I got prescribed when I got in a car accident for a muscle relaxer, It didnt really do much of anything but make me feel like gumby, drunk and out of it. Its not for chronic or severe pain BUT it is for MUSCLE pain, like muscle spasms. From being a former EMT (Paramedic) I know it works in the brain to help with the relaxation of muscle pain, its also used for physical therapy with people with back problems.
Avatar n tn I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.
Avatar m tn She will NOT prescribe it to me for that very reason. It was a drug I used for many years (combined it with hydros for relief and then later for the affect). I was given Flexeril post surgery and again with 2 back flare ups in the past 9 months. Another muscle spasm/relaxant that is non-addictive is Baclofen. Soma CAN be abused.....I abused it and always missed it when I couldn't get my hands on any. If you are in recovery.....my counsel would be to stay FAR away from Soma.
Avatar f tn anything we use each night for sleep can back fire on use/even benadryl/ as ur body will feel it needs it for sleep...soma is addictive so it is good u r quitting...melatonin works for many...valerian root works best for me...everyone is different...there are lots of sleep meds/supps on the market so i doubt u r alone in the sleep issue thing....amitryptilline in small doses helps me sleep if i just take it here and there...not habit forming but if u take it every night u get kinda used to it...
Avatar m tn Headaches are common for me, but usually hormonal so I know when they are coming and I know when they will be gone for the most part. This headache is different - most of mine are located at the front or sides of my head and this one is in the back to the top of my head. I have taken muscle relaxers, migraine meds, prednisone (6 days) and more and more Skelaxin.
Avatar n tn capsules 300mg 1xd for fibromyalgia, Prilosec 1xd for uclers, Celebrex 1xd for inflammation causing chronic pain, Skelaxin,400mg 2-4xweek, Addarall 50mg daily for ADD, Foltrin bid for anemia, Estrovent for hot flashes, an most recently I am being bolased with 5000u Vit. D due to vit D deficiency and liquid calicium 1000mg with 400mg vit D. I have never been much of a drinker, if i had 5 drinks/year that was a lot.
585414 tn?1288941302 I was unable to tolerate all anti Parkinsonian agents because they enduced psychosis as well as alpha blockers such as Clonidine because they enduced suicidal ideations. Has Zofran been regularly used as safe and effective for Zofran? What are the side effects? And also given I read it helped psychosis from Parkinson's could it help what is being studied as tardive psychosis.
402205 tn?1230481005 I will try to avoid them right now tho because they make me sluggish and I am already fatigued with my cut in dose of hydrocodne..anything can be abused...skelaxin is a fairly safe muscle relaxer.....
Avatar f tn I'm not sure if its normal for everybody, but I did have a lot of pain and tightness through my neck and shoulders while I was detoxing. The skelaxin is a very mild muscle relaxer and non-narcotic (I'm pretty sure), so shouldn't be a problem. May even help. Having DDD in the neck is going to leave you with some pain that may be exagerated in the first few weeks. give it just a little time to level out before you try to judge what your "normal" pain will be.
Avatar m tn The muscle relaxer the dr gave me is Skelaxin. Anybody else ever try this. I read on drug ******* the reviews and some people said it really helped without making them dizzy like most of them do. Man I sure hope it helps so I can keep weening off the hydros.
450140 tn?1317947304 Today, my neuro suggested i try SKELAXIN (muscle relaxer) for the spasams I am experiencing. I will start those tomorrow. It says take 3x a day, every 8 hours. And if need be a 4th one can be taken. Does this sound right ........every 8 hours?? Please tell me what you think. I pray that everyone is doing ok. This limboland is really taking its toll on me and my family. Have not worked since Jan. that is putting a strain on us finacially. Not to mention, all the worry about my health.
Avatar f tn My headache started about 7 weeks ago. It is growing in intensity with time (or maybe I am becoming more sensitive to it or less able to deal with it). It is usually in the very center of my head but sometimes will migrate to the front, back or sides. Usually bilateral, but sometimes more on one side than the other. I am not bothered by light or sounds any more than usuall. My neck and upper back are tight and sore, this came on after the headaches.
Avatar m tn I actually worked last 10 yrs in an Internal Med office. (The dr recently retired) He is in his 70's & said the same thing when I asked him. "Soma is one of the best & nothing else is like it". We almost feel over when we found out is was being reclassified to tier 3. It's been out since 1973 u would think they would have realized it was addictive before now.
Avatar m tn Most of the drugs sold by Canadian internet pharmacies are drugs that were made in the USA, and have simply been sold to Canadian distributors. Some of these drugs are manufactured by Canadian manufacturers. But rather than publish a buyers guide for Americans and allowing us to buy our drugs from "certified Canadian pharmacies", they make the whole practice illegal to increase the profitability of the American drug industry. http://www.onlineearnings.net/pdf/article-51381.
Avatar m tn Told me to take as needed (didn’t have to take the full bottle). Took prescriptions for 4 days, Skelaxin caused stomach cramping even when taken as directed. Urine test came back cloudy with high white blood cell count. Concluded was very dehydrated and sent off for tests to determine if infection was present. Also had me go in for blood tests. All came back normal except Vitamin D. Advised to take 1000mg of Vitamin D per day. Follow up appt. set for 7/10 where they will do a urine test again.
163240 tn?1337904361 Since my pcp is still convinced it is MS unless it is something extremely rare. My mom and both my sisters and me all deal with muscle fatigue, muscle weakness this is a common thing we all have but both me and my mom are way more advanced than that. I know I havent been on in awhile but hope everyone will remember my full range of symptoms. the only test that has come back as is only slightly off is my VEP. My emg is only very minimunlly off and everything else is negative.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome! I'm sorry about all the pain you're having to deal with. If I understand your post, you're taking percoset, klonopin and skelaxin? Did I miss any? Percoset is a strong drug in itself, klonopin is an anti anxiety and skelaxin is a muscle relaxer. If you're wanting to stop the medications and stick with physical therapy, I would TAPER off of them one at a time. We can't recommend tapering schedules here, but I would start with the percoset.
Avatar f tn Within 2 weeks I went from having the same headache for 3 years to not having a headache but maybe 3-4 days a month max and that is only with one of my four triggers, not eating, not sleeping, bright light, or storms. Have your doc try this for you, and yes I know it is a blood pressure med. My blood pressure was 117/60 before and after taking. Trust me it worked.
Avatar f tn this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......
