skelaxin

Avatar f tn Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!
Avatar m tn I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.
Avatar m tn Anyone know anything about skelaxin? My doc just sent a script for that To my pharmacy in place of soma....
Avatar n tn I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know. I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".
Avatar m tn So he just said take the hydro because your not taking that many (only 3 a day 7.5) and try this Skelaxin and let me know in 3 months how your doing. I have really tried to cut back on the hydro but my back hurts so bad it wakes me up (when I can sleep). Please let me know if any of you have had any experence with this for back spasms. Thanks.
Avatar f tn but if this is used more often in MS patients you may want to post your question in our MS Forum. There should be more specific information there. I'll look forward to your updates.
Avatar f tn s like they are on fire hurting. stiff neck and all. was taking the tram for degenerative disk disease in the neck so i was wondering, is this a symptom of w/d? or is this the pain that i am to endure after being clean? this *****.
Avatar f tn depakote, solu-cortef (hydrocortisone), zofran (not sure why...
Avatar m tn He did give me some muscle relaxers that they thought might help because I have a knot in the lower muscle of my back. May be they can help and I can stop taking the hydros for a while. They told me they were new, as soon as I pick them up I will see if any of you guys have tried them before. Wish me luck.
450140 tn?1317947304 Hey Beth, So nice to see you pop in, but I'm so sorry you are still suffering in limboland. I pray the meds work for your spasms so you can at least have a little relief. You've been gone for some time now, and we've got lots of new members. If you like, go ahead and give us a re-cap when you feel up to it. I'd do good by a refresher too.
Avatar f tn My dad was taking Skelaxin and when he would take it he would be a little messed up. My dad quickly stopped taking it and they put him on Effexor which caused some side effects such as dizziness, insomnia, and upper respiratory problems. Never taken them personally, but that is what I have heard. I would immagine those would also be addictive also, maybe not as bad, but still dependence would set in. GOOD LUCK ...
Avatar n tn Hello Shirio and welcome to the Pain Forum: First let me tell you that I'm sorry for the discomfort. The meds you have are not meds that can help you type of pain. You need a stronger Muscle Relaxer like Flexeril or Soma. These will work much better than Skelaxin which in my opinion is the "Baby" of the Muscle relaxer meds. It is wise to stay on an anit-inflammatory like Motrin but you might want to try 800mg Ibuphropen (sp) Also.
Avatar f tn I have been getting an aura in both eyes (like a migraine aura with no headache that lasts about 15minutes to a half hour) since I was told to increase my neurontin, daily, but I was also put on Celebrex and Skelaxin at the same time. I've been off of Skelaxin since March 2010. I went off of Celebrex first as I read an article that was in a New Zealand journal of medicine that said it causes rare (9/300 people) visual disturbance.
Avatar f tn I stopped taking Skelaxin several weeks ago and am now in the process of discontinuing the Hydrocodone. I took the last Soma and 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet several nights ago. This is my second round with trying to get off this med. The problem is the insomnia or sleeplessness that occurs in the middle of the night. As I type this it is 3:45 and I've been up since 2:15. I am having difficulty functioning at work because I am exhausted.
Avatar f tn My headache started about 7 weeks ago. It is growing in intensity with time (or maybe I am becoming more sensitive to it or less able to deal with it). It is usually in the very center of my head but sometimes will migrate to the front, back or sides. Usually bilateral, but sometimes more on one side than the other. I am not bothered by light or sounds any more than usuall. My neck and upper back are tight and sore, this came on after the headaches.
402205 tn?1230481005 I will try to avoid them right now tho because they make me sluggish and I am already fatigued with my cut in dose of hydrocodne..anything can be abused...skelaxin is a fairly safe muscle relaxer.....
Avatar m tn I have had a headache for now 31 days in a row without any real relief. It started out (I think) with a stiff neck- Couldn't touch chin to chest) and the same day I started with a headache. They almost follow a pattern everyday, I wake up with it, it gets better after I'm up for awhile and almost gone into afternoon, but around 4 pm comes back and keeps going for the rest of the night (almost worse when I lay down).
Avatar m tn I am being treated for ibs, stomach and esophagal ulcers, severe internal hemmorrhoids, had colon polyps removed, and acid reflux. I have moderate to severe pain in left side from bottom of ribcage down to waist. Am being told it is from ibs. Am currently taking skelaxin, dicyclomine, benefiber, mirolax, pantoprazole. Left side pain is not improving and may be getting worse. Need answers to this pain. What could be the cause?
Avatar m tn It’s expensive and in Europe we can lose our medicine in the custom. Some goes in, another get stopped and you lose your money. Maybe better to buy at the black marked if there are some near you?
198419 tn?1360242356 I agree. There ISN'T a wrong choice. Just the one that you think will fit you. And it's not carved in stone. You can change if it isn't right. Make sure the doc knows ALL about your spasms.
442042 tn?1205707694 keep reading and you will get good suggestions - unfortunately it is one of the symptoms that you have to get past in order to get back in life, its very worth it...and you are so close after these days. Can you find a couple of benzo's (valium, ativan, lorazepam, etc) to take foe a few days? They help a lot. Try and keep youself distracted -( movies, games, books, hobbies, whatever) And maybe use melatonin, benadryl (my favorite), sleepytime (celestial seasonings) tea - for sleep problems.
