I use simvastatin to lower the cholesterol and lisinopril to lower the bp. The lisinopril works w/o the simvastatin and v.v.

Yes, it looks like myopathy is a term for a multitude of muscular disorders and the cause needs to be determined. Sorry that you have that and Iwould seek a multitude of opinions on the cause if your'e not comfortable with the answer.

Muscle biopsy shows myopathy that occurs with anabolic steroid abuse, Also have MRI and tests for pituitary tumour nad and bloods for ? hypopituitary. Results show low testosterone consistant with anabolic steroid abuse. I have never used anabolic steroids at anytime. Could something internally be wrong. If TSH is normal, then hard to conclude myopathy is thyroid related. T3 sometimes helps nonspecific muscle symptoms, but you have already tried this. Would consider looking into other causes as well of myopathy.

My endocrinologist prescribed me Atorvastatin 40mg in place of the simvastatin but it has since given my major chest pain and muscle weakness in my fingers and legs; so I was advised by the pharmacist to stop that and I have only taken the new statin twice and tonight was the second time taking it. Is simvastatin something that can be eased up to a higher dose to do the exact same thing atorvastatin does for the bad cholesterol?
