Avatar f tn I know that drugs like Viagra etc,,, are used for pulmonary hypertension as well as erectile dysfunction. I'm a nurse and had a guy come on our floor with sildenafil as a regular medication. I asked the doctor why and he said the pulmonary hypertension. So I could see a use for what your husband said.
1846163 tn?1331048748 I am cures Ty on Vytorin and will be starting therapy soon, I have read that someone on a cholesterol lowering drug should not be on this drug. Can you tell me why?
Avatar f tn He was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension around March of this year by a cardiologist. Since then we have had him on sildenafil with regular check ups and heart scans to monitor his progress. During his latest check up his primary vet ran blood and urine and we discovered that he is in stage 3 renal failure and his kidneys are only working at about 20-30%. Like most on this forum, I feel guilt for not having caught this sooner.
Avatar m tn Viagra(Sildenafil) is a vasodilator (that is, a drug that dilates blood vessels), and consequently it lowers the systolic blood pressure (the "top" number in blood pressure measurements) by an average of 8 mmHg. In the majority of patients with heart disease, including most of those being treated with antihypertensive drugs, this is not a problem.
1980771 tn?1326279497 my mom was affected by Pulmanory embolism and taking about 3months of hospital treatment.she cant breath without oxygen supply and walk or move a distance finally she got Pulmanory endarterectomy surgery in banglore.after surgery still she cant breath well without oxygen.her saturation 70-80% at sitting and 40-50% at walking. Doctors told that it can be improved by physicaligcal treatment only. You people having any idea to overcome it or is the ongoing treatment will help for us. .
547253 tn?1398187995 Patients with pulmonary hypertension may get some symptomatic relief with oxygen and oral medications for pulmonary hypertension, such as sildenafil (Viagra) and some others. Your cousin's family needs to discuss things in detail with the cardiologist, to make sure everyone understands the serious nature of this condition and its impact upon long term survival.

Avatar m tn My doctor told me the delayed ejaculation is common with 50 mg dosage of Sildenafil and he said that Sildenafil 25 mg should be adequate and will not lead to delayed ejaculation. I don't smoke and have no other major health problems. Is it useful to have intercourse 3-4 hours after taking the pill (25 mg), to slightly reduce the effect of the pill on ejaculation ? Appreciate any advice related to this, thanks in advance !
Avatar m tn Hepatic Impairment In volunteers with hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class A and B), sildenafil clearance was reduced, resulting in higher plasma exposure of sildenafil (47% for Cmax and 85% for AUC). The pharmacokinetics of sildenafil in patients with severely impaired hepatic function (Child-Pugh Class C) have not been studied. A starting dose of 25 mg should be considered in patients with any degree of hepatic impairment [see Dosage and Administration (2.5) and Clinical Pharmacology (12.3)].
Avatar f tn Risk factors are smoking, hypercholesterolemia and hypertension. Papilledema and raised intracranial pressure should be investigated with MRI brain to check if there is an intracranial neoplasm. You could have had ocular infarction causing persistent ischemic damage to eye causing permanent vision loss. Embolic phenomenon like retinal arteriolar emboli arising from carotid artery, aorta, cardiac valves etc. Cardiac diseases need to be ruled out like atrial myxomas, endocarditis, etc.
Avatar n tn Side Effects of Penegra? Like all medications, Penegra (sildenafil) can cause some side effects. These are usually mild & tolerable and don't last longer than a few hours. Some of these side effects are more likely to occur with higher doses of Penegra.
Avatar f tn I am 83 and take Sildenafil once a week before breakfast and sex. I usually have an upset stomach for 1-2 hours after. It's the price I pay for sex.
Avatar m tn I don't have ED but I was curious if my erections could be stronger. I spoke with my doctor and tried Cialis and Viagra. Since they have much different half-lives, I thought I'd try the following: Taking 10-20 mg Cialis every 2-3 days, then taking 20-40 mg Viagra (generic sildenafil) before sexual activity. My questions isn't whether this is effective - it certainly is. But is there any risk to doing this? I moved so I don't have a doctor right now.
Avatar f tn This effect is not clinically significant and does not cause any complaints in most of the patients. Inasmuch as the concomitant use of sildenafil citrate and alpha blockers may leads to symptomatic hypotension in certain patients, sildenafil should be used with caution in patients receiving alpha- adrenoblockers. The patients taking alpha blockers may use Viagra only after stabilizing of hemodynamic indexes.
Avatar m tn Hello, Viagra affects blood cells and bloods vessels in the head, skin, causing annoying side effects such as headaches, flushed skin and indigestion, dizziness, hearing loss and visual effects such as blurred vision. Viagra works by causing the arteries to expand in order to encourage increased blood flow to the penis. This, in turn, affects the blood pressure and can possibly contribute to the development of an abnormal heart rate, a stroke or a heart attack.
Avatar m tn t give it to you if they felt it would cause further issues. The one that is cheap, sildenafil, try that and see if it allows you to get an erection again.

Avatar m tn I have been suffering form PME from the beginning and it was quite serious for few days back. I never reveled it to my gf and tried to masturbate one or two hours before intercourse and it went fine for few days. After 3months or so one new problem arise and it was like its not getting hard enough to push. Its not fully erectile. It may be because I masterbate one hour before? Or it may be because I am not getting attracted to her anymore?
Avatar f tn Viagra can cause an upset stomach and/or indigestion, but check with your prescriber. It can also have cardiac side effects, and indigestion and cardiac issues can often feel similar. https://www.goodrx.com/viagra/viagra-side-effects https://www.healthline.com/health/mens-health/effects-of-viagra-on-the-body https://www.forhims.
Avatar n tn Firstly, I was told by doctors then it was probably pschological. It continued and I was given priscription (prescription) drugs(sildenafil up to 100mg) which worked temporarily and in a lot of instances unsatisfactorily. I have had a partner for 8 years that has been on & off. We got seperated for almost 5 years in which she got pregnant & had a kid. When we started this relationship we had tried for a baby but it didnt happen. We are now back together and are trying again.
Avatar m tn Semen levels and quality is very low on me. Even a little discharge and I see the depression effect immediately in 2 hrs.max.
Avatar n tn I am 7 weeks post robotic radical prostactectomy, and I remain somewhat incontinent [generally stress incontinence - coughing, yawning, sudden position changes] and using 100mg sildenafil q.o.d. to hopefully restore the abilty to achieve erections. I CAN have an orgasm, during which I produce [what I assume is] urine. Is this normal? Will this resolve on it's own? Can I hasten it's resolution (I already do Keegel exercises) on my own or with medical assistance? I'm 57 y.o.
Avatar n tn Viagra and Levitra are the two FDA (Food and Drugs Administration) approved anti-impotence drugs that are indeed effective in helping men.Viagra needs no introduction! Pfizer's wonder drug, sildenafil, better known as Viagra, is the trusted treatment for male impotence problems.
Avatar m tn Hi, I sincerely feel that you should consult a urologist for the same if the oral medications are not able to treat the ED. I hope you have tadalafil also apart from sildenafil. The next step is usually papaverine injection but needs to be given by an expert only. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
