skelaxin

Avatar f tn I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!
Avatar m tn Took prescriptions for 4 days, Skelaxin caused stomach cramping even when taken as directed. Urine test came back cloudy with high white blood cell count. Concluded was very dehydrated and sent off for tests to determine if infection was present. Also had me go in for blood tests. All came back normal except Vitamin D. Advised to take 1000mg of Vitamin D per day. Follow up appt. set for 7/10 where they will do a urine test again. FAMILY HISTORY Female cousin diagnosed with MS in early 20’s.
Avatar m tn Hi about a year ago a had an injury at work that caused 2 herniated disks. I did the physical therapy for a while than realized I can do most of the pt stuff at home or at the gym. I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin.
402205 tn?1230481005 I think my friend is hooked on benadryl! I have taken 5 mg flexeril for chronic back pain for years and never had any problems with it...I will try to avoid them right now tho because they make me sluggish and I am already fatigued with my cut in dose of hydrocodne..anything can be abused...skelaxin is a fairly safe muscle relaxer.....
Avatar f tn It is a short acting agent and is usually prescribed two or more often three times a day. There are multiple drug interactions associated with Tizanidine such as Cipro so be sure to remember this when or if a new med is added to your regimen. I have no personal information on it's effectiveness. I tried numerous muscle relaxants. They often left me feeling " hung over" and depressed. I was ready to give up on any of them.
Avatar f tn If you have any personal knowledge about any of these drugs, would you be willing to share your experiences with me? I really need to know if the "Pros" are WORTH the "Cons". Here they are (in no particular order): Gabitril Neurontin Lyrica Skelaxin Effexor Cymbalta Triavil Celebrex Emla Patches I'm open to any other suggestions as well. THANKS!!

Avatar m tn Haven't had any experience with Skelaxin, but just wanted to ask if you've had any steroid blocker injections? I think that's what it is called. My husband had been having severe back spasms and just had this blocker injection done two weeks ago. Two days after the injection he was good as new and it's still working. My husband couldn't sleep either, woke up in the middle of the night, etc. Good luck to ya!
450140 tn?1317947304 I will start those tomorrow. It says take 3x a day, every 8 hours. And if need be a 4th one can be taken. Does this sound right ........every 8 hours?? Please tell me what you think. I pray that everyone is doing ok. This limboland is really taking its toll on me and my family. Have not worked since Jan. that is putting a strain on us finacially. Not to mention, all the worry about my health. My husband, and my girls are almost as fustrated as I am.
Avatar m tn m in recovery and not gonna let a muscle pill make me use if it that type of med. anyone with experience with soma please reply.
Avatar f tn Am I doing this wrong? I'm taking the riba 6am and 2pm. My doctor didn't say had to be taken with fat or any food for that matter and it's not on the bottle what to take it with. Then I'm taken the incivek 7Am 3PM and 11PM with fat peanut butter or cheese or cake and a fatty Yogurt. I really am having a hard time eating because I just have no appetite, but I want this to work. Should I be taking the Riba with fat and how in the heck does one eat that oftem?
Avatar n tn also i am getting different information about whether cytomel can be taken with food, or on an empty stomach. also i am on yaz birth control, which i take several hours after my cytomel--is that ok? please help.
Avatar f tn My experience with Skelaxin...Like what was said before anything can be addicting but the likelyhood of someone saying 'wow this is cool" not gonna happen. The only side effect that would be wanted in it makes u sleepy, but no euphoria feeling or high feeling. Now if he would combine it with other meds watch out for that.
198419 tn?1360242356 m also considering trying samples of that med to help w/ fatigue... Provigil? Do you guys know if it can be taken PRN? Or, is it a everyday med in order for it to work? Ok, well gotta go to work... I work a 12 hr shift today... YUCK! But I have tomorrow off. Everyday worked helps pay for the insurance to pay for the med... so no complaining really. Have an AWESOME DAY!
Avatar n tn I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.
Avatar n tn Just found out am 5 weeks should a be taken vitamins? If so whats better and ave been haven alot of pain in ny back n on my sides and feel bloated as if am due to start my periods is this normal?
Avatar f tn I'm not sure if its normal for everybody, but I did have a lot of pain and tightness through my neck and shoulders while I was detoxing. The skelaxin is a very mild muscle relaxer and non-narcotic (I'm pretty sure), so shouldn't be a problem. May even help. Having DDD in the neck is going to leave you with some pain that may be exagerated in the first few weeks. give it just a little time to level out before you try to judge what your "normal" pain will be.
1611670 tn?1306690499 There was no difference in absorption on riba taken with water or a regular meal. However, when taken with foods containing fat, the absorption was around 46%. As simple as peanut butter on toast or whatever you can come up with , but do take fats with your ribavirin. Good luck with your treatment and hope the Boce kicks butt.
Avatar m tn I have had a headache for now 31 days in a row without any real relief. It started out (I think) with a stiff neck- Couldn't touch chin to chest) and the same day I started with a headache. They almost follow a pattern everyday, I wake up with it, it gets better after I'm up for awhile and almost gone into afternoon, but around 4 pm comes back and keeps going for the rest of the night (almost worse when I lay down).
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with a transfer migraine last August. It started on Aug 1st and hasn't left me since. It's been an agonizing 6 months. It's called transfer migraine because it moves all over my head. I've never had one of those common migraines where the light bothers me or I get nauseated or see auras, etc. My migraines have been "light" headaches that stay with me for a few days: from 3 to five days at the most.
Avatar n tn If you don't have anemia, you don't have an iron problem. Vegetarians should have no problem getting sufficient iron, as it's present and best absorbed from a variety of plants. Examples are nettles, raw spinach, raw dandelion greens, beets, parsley, watercress -- you get the picture here, green leafy vegetables and others as well. Now, just being a vegetarian doesn't mean you're eating well.
Avatar f tn Soma should be tapered but it sounds like u have done that...and that u were not on a super high dose...anything we use each night for sleep can back fire on use/even benadryl/ as ur body will feel it needs it for sleep...soma is addictive so it is good u r quitting...melatonin works for many...valerian root works best for me...everyone is different...there are lots of sleep meds/supps on the market so i doubt u r alone in the sleep issue thing....
Avatar f tn The headaches are becoming debilitating at times and now having pressure in my ears (not pain) and it feels as if something is squeezing my neck. I have a follow up appt with my PCP on 2/17, should I move it up? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
1325672 tn?1290084214 That's what I do with oral pain meds and it usually works. Check with your pharmacist to be absolutely certain. He can also tell you if there are some foods that should be avoided. For example, some antibiotics shouldn't be taken with milk products as it interferes with gastric absorption. I'm not aware of any contraindications like that with oxycontin, but your pharmacist can tell you for certain.
Avatar m tn Does Victrellis have to be taken with 20 g of fat like Incivek? If not why isn't Victrellis being prescribed more, I mean the fat requirement is somewhat burdensome right? They both have about the same cure rates, with Incivek a percent or two higher. I notice a lot more people seem to be prescribed Incivek. Is that true or just my impression?
