Avatar m tn Hi, How are you? Are there other symptoms present? What were the results of the MRI, EMG and blood tests? Was there a history of trauma to the head or neck? It is good that eye issues are ruled out already. This could be due to primary headaches which are usually managed with prescription medications. Anxiety as well as depression can also be managed with medications prescribed by your doctor and also with medical therapy.

Avatar f tn I had all of these symptoms after my first seizure when I was 20, the weakness, tiredness, tingling are all normal, I am afraid. The metallic taste is also normal before you have an episode. As for your MRI scan being abnormal to be honest it will be, your brain has suffered a big shock. As for the result ask your doctor, or even type it in to the internet search box, not only does it explain it but also puts it in normal terms (for us people that aren't doctors). Hope this helps slightly .
Avatar f tn It could be epilepsy, but the fact that, from the way you mentioned it, the head banging somewhat woke you up does not point toward a seizure because usually when you come out of a seizure, you are confused, extremely tired, and sore. Also, you wouldn't be able to be woken up from the head banging. Although, the fact that the shower nob held up your head by hair would be suspicious of something more than fainting...
Avatar f tn It is important to accurately describe the seizure, timing of the day the seizure occurred and also in what setting. 401370 tn?1233328282 If you have very few symptoms of a seizure, but didn't endure the full blown effects (silent seizure perhaps?), can an EMG still detect it? Just wondering, because I have Lupus, and sometimes I will notice SEVERE dizzy spells for like 5 seconds, along with numbness or tingling feeling of my teeth WHILE the dizzy spells are taking place, then a weird jolt down my left arm.. (I had tests performed by my doc and they stated it wasn't heart related). Very strange..
Avatar n tn MD states that it is most definitely seizure activity/disorder. His symptoms are so vague, though, that we often don't know when he is having a seizure, or what to do. We only seem to know for sure that he had a seizure after the fact, because he sleeps 3-7 hours. He will sometimes complain of crushing headache, frequently nauseated, sometimes vomit, sometimes blurry vision (?), but never are the symptoms the same from time to time.
Avatar f tn The question concerns a boy who shows seizure like ADHD symptoms which last a certain time and then completely resume. In good phases he can sit down and read a book for 30 minutes or work on school work, is nice to talk to, has behavior control. Once he is in the other stage he will make funny noises, talks like a maniac, can't sit still, loses all his manners, insults people, can't concentrate on anything, very sensitive to sounds, can't control himself.
