U would have to Inhale a lot of second hand smoke to have a positive drug test. Please do your research people. & If its uncomfortable to u tell him to stop. I smoked with my now 3 year old son until about 16 weeks. People tell me hes the smartest 3 year old theyve met. Not saying it is ok but i dont think its as extreme as people make it out to be. 3 years later im smoke free & 11 wks preggers again. & My little boy is fine.

Since I was exposed to the smoke and felt that I inhaled it, I am trying to figure out how the smoke would not be able to affect a drug test with a false positive. Thoughts?

I agree you should be careful and try to stay away from it. Second hand smoke effects everyone and is especially bad for baby. Did your doctor explain any of this to you? A drug test is something to worry about, but you and baby's health is much more important than that.

There are many risks with second hand smoke exposure even for ppl who are not pregnant. Second hand smoke can cause under developed lungs, increase the chance of sids, low birth weight, baby can develop asthma and a bunch of other things too. Its good your fiance doesn't smoke in the house or around you but he should get into the habbit of not smoking in the car either. The nicotine can settle into the fabrics which is the same as smoking a cigarette while being in the room with the baby.

Look if you're that worried about your baby then seriously just stop going over there. Think about it if you will. You either be alone or go to your grandma's where you will inhale second hand smoke which is way worse than smoking itself. It's terrible that your gma is like that but if she is indeed like that then just stop going over there. She obviously doesn't care to stop so just stay home and try to stay occupied. My doc says any inhalation of smoke is not good for baby but the actual ingredients in weed are not harmful to the baby. You wont fail a drug test because of second hand thats crazy. Im in palm harbor fl btw!

Yeah I know they do that one before they let you leave because if either of you fail they get child protective services involved.. I was just concerned about my doctors office not telling me everything they test and check for I feel that we should be told everything they are doing to keep us well informed because my friend failed a drug test and I didn't even know they were drug testing people.

I told my dr I smoked due to sickness and insomnoa and he told me they wont drug test unless they suspect the mother is a bad drug addict. Drug tests cost a lot of money. But it really depends on the hospital. But I would for sure tell ur doctor because that way he's aware and wont order one.

No, you wouldn't test positive that way. If you didn't ingest, inhale, snort, inject, or touch it (crack) directly don't worry about it. The only way people have tested positive for very small amounts (in hair sample tests), who aren't direct users, are people exposed to second-hand smoke over a long period of time...
