U would have to Inhale a lot of second hand smoke to have a positive drug test. Please do your research people. & If its uncomfortable to u tell him to stop. I smoked with my now 3 year old son until about 16 weeks. People tell me hes the smartest 3 year old theyve met. Not saying it is ok but i dont think its as extreme as people make it out to be. 3 years later im smoke free & 11 wks preggers again. & My little boy is fine.

I take pain medications and am regularly tested by urine and blood by my doctor. Last Saturday I was at a friend's house and they smoked pot. I do not use pot, and I tried to leave the room whenever he was doing it. At times I would get a faint smell of it. I also covered my mouth with my sleeve when I did smell it. I didn't smoke it. I can't stand the smell of it. I don't know if it matters but they were using pipes or tubes. IT wasn't constant.

I agree you should be careful and try to stay away from it. Second hand smoke effects everyone and is especially bad for baby. Did your doctor explain any of this to you? A drug test is something to worry about, but you and baby's health is much more important than that.

Even third hand smoke is dangerous, the smell on clothes, the chemicals on his skin and such. I dealt with it with my first pregnancy and I wouldn't let my hubby near me or touch me and he quit after a few months.

There are many risks with second hand smoke exposure even for ppl who are not pregnant. Second hand smoke can cause under developed lungs, increase the chance of sids, low birth weight, baby can develop asthma and a bunch of other things too. Its good your fiance doesn't smoke in the house or around you but he should get into the habbit of not smoking in the car either. Look if you're that worried about your baby then seriously just stop going over there. Think about it if you will. You either be alone or go to your grandma's where you will inhale second hand smoke which is way worse than smoking itself. It's terrible that your gma is like that but if she is indeed like that then just stop going over there. She obviously doesn't care to stop so just stay home and try to stay occupied. I told my dr I smoked due to sickness and insomnoa and he told me they wont drug test unless they suspect the mother is a bad drug addict. Drug tests cost a lot of money. But it really depends on the hospital. But I would for sure tell ur doctor because that way he's aware and wont order one.

There is no reason you should put yourself in a room where someone is smoking it.
