Now i can visibly see hair falling out all over my scalp but the thing that worries me the most is the hair falling from my eyebrows. My scalp flakes a lot and it always produces these little hard keratinized bulbs when the hair falls our.Other symptoms include eyelash fall, styes on my eyes, small pimples on my face, changes in my skin, itchy forehad, bleeding scalp, and beaus lines on my nails, along with minor pitting. My scalp is extremely itchy as well.

The yellow waxy crusts on the scalp are due to dandruff and it can cause seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp and face. Use over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium.
If the symptoms persist,then it would be best to get it confirmed from a dermatologist.Hope it helps.

The skin gets extremely red when I scrub it to remove the flakes. Is this area afected by psoriasis or it this dermatitis seborrheic or other condition. It is so embarrassing especially that I work around a lot of people. Cortizone creams help me while I apply them, but as soon as I stop, the condition flares up.
I was told by my dermo that I had Seborrheic dermatitis. It was dry itchy and scaly under my beard, in the nose folds, ears and eyebrows. I was given desonate gel to use for 2 weeks and things calmed down. However now I just have a redness itchy forehead. I put moisture cream o it and it doesnt really help. Is this still donsidered Seborrheic dermatitis? And would the desonate gel still be the right rx to use?
The exact cause is not known, but it may be caused by a fungus which may be confirmed with skin scrapings from the site and evaluating it under the microscope. This may occur at different areas of the body as well. Seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp is usually treated with a shampoo that contains salicylic acid, zinc pyrithione or selenium sulfide. If the shampoo alone doesn't help, prescription medication may be indicated.
It sounds like seborrheic dermatitis, which is an inflammatory version of dandruff. I have it in my eyebrows -- it's white and flaky, with no redness until recently, and it started off in one part of one eyebrow, and then it spread. Now recently it has spread to my entire eyebrow. I've tried a lot of things. Using Nizoral shampoo once a day seems to help a little. I also take the following supplements: evening primrose oil, multivitamins, cod liver oil, and sometimes, probiotics.
I too was diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis and have delt with hair shedding as well . my derm prescribed me ketacanozole 2 % shampoo and betamethasone steroidal ointment to help combat the inflammation and hair loss .it has almost completely stoppedy scalp from flaking and itching as much . it has been a tremendous relief . I have lost a lotttt of hair due to this crap . its taking me a while to regrow it as well .
I was just diagnosed with Seborrheic Dermatitis, and after reading about it I found it can also affect the eyebrows. It is a chronic but relatively easy to treat skin condition that supposedly results from too much oil on the skin and commonly affects the scalp and eyebrows, but can also affect the face and chest. I have no idea if this is it, but I have been experiencing a little hair loss on the scalp, but once treated, the hair will grow back.

You might be suffering from scalp (seborrheic) dermatitis or scalp eczema or scalp psoriasis. The exact diagnosis depends on clinical examination.
Seborrheic dermatitis presents as dry skin on the scalp, which flakes off (dandruff). The skin on the face, behind the ears, eyelids, nose and chest may also be affected.
Symptoms of scalp eczema may include greasy yellowish scales that may turn flake off along intensely itchy and inflamed red scalp.
But a presence of a scalp condition like seborrheic dermatitis or other fungal infections may cause some degree of hair loss. However, it is necessary to note that hair loss with seborrheic dermatitis appears to be more diffused and not well demarcated or patchy.
At this point, I have not encountered any effective medical therapy for hair loss. Some have tried minoxidil and corticosteroids but there is really no single effective way. For severe cases , hair transplants may be considered.
I had this. It seemed to be seborrheic dermatitis, and seemed to respond best to Nizoral shampoo, but I don't know how your hair type would like that shampoo. If diluted white vinegar isn't too drying, you could try rinsing with that. I cannot use any conditioner as it causes problems for me, blocking pores. I also found out I have celiac disease, so it was a side effect of digestive malabsorption. So find out if you have any intestinal problems going on.
I recently tried to cut my hair but since my scalp was so damaged I ended up shaving it. Find out that my scalp has some type of condition. I'm guessing seborrheic dermatitis but not completely sure. Here is a picture of my scalp, view at disgression.

s a red dot underneath, and if I use a drying soap, it looks like a crater later. I also get scabs and sore spots on my scalp, which a dermatologist told me was seborrheic dermatitis. Is this the same thing? Would it have spread to my face for some reason?

For the last four years I feel itching, scaling and flakes on my scalp. Now only i came to know that this is Seborrheic Dermatitis. Because of this I lost almost 40% of my hairs. I learnt that this is a temporary hair loss.
I tried many shampoo's like selsun,scalpe etc. And also i have been intaking Glacex(B-complex vit) tablets long time. Still My problem is not resolved.
Last four year i consulted many doctors (Skin specialists).
Hence if your child is school going then it is unlikely to be seborrheic dermatitis. However it is often hereditary and if you have been diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis, then your child carries the risk of having it in future life during adulthood.
Moreover it causes redness and inflammation of skin with yellow patches or red, greasy skin covered with flaky white or yellow scales. Hence it is unlikely to be seborrheic dermatitis in your child’s case but confirmation needs to be done.
