Avatar f tn 15 years ago I developed seborrheic dermatitis in my ears and my groin. The first doctor prescribed a steroid cream and told me to wash my hair with dandruff shampoo and put a little of the suds in my ears and on my groin. The steroid cream worked for a couple of weeks and then stopped. A few years later a second doctor gave me samples of an anti-fungal cream and told me to use it. That did nothing. So basically I've been itching non-stop and clawing my body up pretty good for 15 years.

Avatar m tn If it's the outer third of the eyebrow, you should get your thyroid checked. If you have flaking and scaling, like you have dandruff in your eyebrows, then it's probably something fungal. If it's not super red and inflamed, you could try applying some hydrocortisone cream to it. If it helps, it probably is some sort of organism causing irritation and the hair loss, and something like ketoconazole cream or even lotramin would be the thing to do.

Avatar m tn I have been looking online and I think it is Seborrheic Dermatitis. I am on an Immunosuppresant (6MP) and I understand that a weakened immune system could be a factor in the development of SD. Does anyone think this could be SD before I call my Doctor and try and tell him what I think it is and request treatment! Many thanks. [IMG]http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c326/bevldavies/Face.
