It appears to be similar in efficacy and like Ambien is meant for short term use only. Unless you've tried it Rozerem is one alternative that unlike Ambien or the medication you mentioned or Lunesta does not have a potential for a person to build up a tolerance to it and is an FDA approved medication that works like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle. You could ask your psychiatrist about that.
I have manic depression and high anxiety. I take 600mg of Lithium and 1mg of xanax xr. Due to lack of insurance I have to now go to a Mental Health Clinic in my county and I found out today they won't prescribe my xanax because of history of addiction in my family and when I was 15 I used drugs for a little while. They typically don't prescribe narcotics there anyhow. I'm very very frustrated because the xanax has provided the most relief from my anxiety and helps me sleep.
I saw a neurologist who specializes in movement disorders and she is not sure if I have akathisia or dyskinisia, based on the strange location of the symptom. She started me on Xanax and I am up to 2 mg a day- with still lots of suffering. When I first started the xanax and got off all of the meds above I started to feel significantly better- it was there but still manageable and then about 2-3 weeks later I started feeling even worse again.

Has anyone tried taking rozerem to help sleep when tapering? I tried Abien a few years ago and it wired me all night. Last night, I took ,1 clonidine and 2 soma and I just knew that would put me to sleep and all it did was give me a big buzz and i was wired for a few hours.

She also has a sleep disorder that we finally saw a pediatric sleep specialist for-- now she uses a blue spectrum light every morning. Occasionally, we use Rozerem 8mg (prescribed by the peds sleep specialist) --but only occasionally when we are unable to do her light therapy. Is there any connection between sleep disorders & early adrenarche? And is this adrenarche when it is only her axillary area involved?

Have been taking xanax .25 mg 4 times daily. Dr today prescribed Ambien 10 mg to help with staying asleep at night and skip the last dose of xanax before bed and take the Ambien. I take the xanax for Anxiety attacks and i'm first scared to stop the last dose before bed and second, don't know how the Ambien is going to effect me. The xanax at night only puts me to sleep for about 2 hours then i wake up. What should I do?

If a medication keeps you awake at night you could ask your psychiatrist if you could take it earlier in the day and see if that helps. Discuss all this with them and see what they say.

Trazodone or Rozerem but, in the end, none of them are a solution to insomnia because they don;t work well in the short term and stop working in the long-term. CBT is the only permanent, effective solution.

I have an extreme fear of flying. My husband is English and I'm American so we've had to fly across the Atlantic many times (15 or more). Every time I feel worse. My panic attacks on board are more frequent and the anxiety pre-flight is worse too. My doctor and I are trying to find medicine(s) to help me. I really would like to take something when I get on board and then wake up 7 hours later to find we've landed at Heathrow.
Can anyone let me know if Rozerem 8mg (RX sleep aid) and Prozac 20 mg (antidepressant) are safe to take with methadone (15mg daily) I am detoxing after 15 years on MMT and have slowly "tapered" my dose from 60mg daily to 15mg daily. I am having some insomnia & depression/antiety issues related to my husband being on the waiting list for a liver transplant. Just want to make sure i'm not gonna "croak" if I take the other meds.
There are safer sleeping medications such as Lunesta and Rozerem. My concern about Trazadone is the fact that it can cause tardive dyskinesia. If you are not taking it for depression but as a sleep aid you might want to ask your psychiatrist about the two I mentioned. This link is from a psychiatric journal and lists all known medications that can cause tardive dyskinesia and Trazadone is clearly listed as one.
Best to ask your doc this question, as that person has examined you and knows your full med history. Suggest continuing to work on your anxiety disorder and as you make progress expect your sleep to improve. Ask also about using a CBT sleep training program as a permanent, sustainable, and substance-free solution.
It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
30pm sinemet uses low dosage because it looks like impact her falling into sleep even with Rozerem. She used to be able to fall into sleep quickly when took 25/100, but cannot for increased dosage). The strangest is motion:
In morning, right after get up but BEFORE sinemet, her walking is steady, no difficult stepping out, speed is slow but ok, no sign of dyskinesia (or not noticeable)
