Rozerem and xanax

Common Questions and Answers about Rozerem and xanax

rozerem

Avatar m tn I am actually being tapered from Risperidone and Xanax by my Psychiatrist and am having sleep problems but I shall take Melatonin or Rozerem instead after consulting my Psychiatrist as I dont want go through another withdrawal syndrome.
Avatar f tn Nurse presc. Rozerem for my sleep problem. Taking xanax 4 times daily .25mg. Has anyone taken this sleep aid with success or was it bad? Any replies good or bad PLEASE! She pres.
741315 tn?1232458427 Ambien is not meant for everyday use as a sleeping aide as it can be addictive. Lunesta or Rozerem are two better choices. Rozerem works in the same manner as Melatonin and actually adjusts the sleep cycle. Those are some ideas to speak to your psychiatrist about.
Avatar f tn I have manic depression and high anxiety. I take 600mg of Lithium and 1mg of xanax xr. Due to lack of insurance I have to now go to a Mental Health Clinic in my county and I found out today they won't prescribe my xanax because of history of addiction in my family and when I was 15 I used drugs for a little while. They typically don't prescribe narcotics there anyhow. I'm very very frustrated because the xanax has provided the most relief from my anxiety and helps me sleep.
Avatar n tn Im thinking I should get off of the rozerem and see how i feel, but then I am back to not sleeping. I am getting more depressed and hopeless that this will never go away. Every other med the doctors talk about putting me on for sleep or depression also carries with it the risk of akathisia or dyskinisia. The neurologist mentioned klonipin as an option to try if the xanax was not effective.
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to the forum. Thank you for your question. Questions regarding medication are best discussed with your doctor as they prescribe the medication and know your particular situation. What is your specific issue with insomnia? Rozerem seems to be best used for those who don't fall asleep easily. Is that your situation? It works on melatonin and is not supposed to be habit forming which is a great benefit. https://www.medicinenet.com/rozerem/article.
Avatar m tn I tried Abien a few years ago and it wired me all night. Last night, I took ,1 clonidine and 2 soma and I just knew that would put me to sleep and all it did was give me a big buzz and i was wired for a few hours. I know I just need some sleep!
603015 tn?1329862973 That can be taken everyday and might get your sleep cycle more in order. And as for Rozerem and Lunesta unlike the other two medications which have to be withdrawn over time if someone has built up a tolerance to them, being that this is not an issue, if the medication for bipolar adjusts itself and your sleeping becomes more normal you can stop them at that point without a problem. You might ask about those two especially Rozerem.
Avatar f tn Isn't Rozerem very closely related to melatonin? I've tried melatonin and valerian for insomnia. Neither with much success. Surely there are other alternatives besides trazadone and rozerem. I would like to know what they are.
Avatar n tn She also has a sleep disorder that we finally saw a pediatric sleep specialist for-- now she uses a blue spectrum light every morning. Occasionally, we use Rozerem 8mg (prescribed by the peds sleep specialist) --but only occasionally when we are unable to do her light therapy. Is there any connection between sleep disorders & early adrenarche? And is this adrenarche when it is only her axillary area involved?
Avatar f tn Hello! Can I take Belsomra and Rozerem together if the effect of one drug is not enough?
Avatar m tn One known option for sleep (although it has no mood stabilization properties) is the medication Rozerem that works to adjust the sleep cycle and is safe and non addictive. You could ask your psychiatrist about this as well.
Avatar m tn However, there is no known interaction between rozerem and sertraline. You could try and adopt good sleep hygiene measures like going to bed at the same time, waking up at the same time, avoidance of alcohol, smoking and caffeinated beverages. Try and maintain a warm, comfortable bedroom environment and engage in relaxing activities like a warm bath before bed time. Hope This Helped and Do Keep Us Posted.
Avatar n tn She is currently in dosage of 25/150, 25/150, 25/100, and around 0.16 requip before sleep together with Rozerem 8mg and Zyprexa 1.25 mg. (I forgot to mention Zyprexa in previous post) But strangest thing is she becomes much more difficulty in falling and staying asleep. In theory, if the dyskinesia/teeth grinding went away, she should feel much better and more easier to get into sleep. But it does not.
Avatar f tn Dr today prescribed Ambien 10 mg to help with staying asleep at night and skip the last dose of xanax before bed and take the Ambien. I take the xanax for Anxiety attacks and i'm first scared to stop the last dose before bed and second, don't know how the Ambien is going to effect me. The xanax at night only puts me to sleep for about 2 hours then i wake up. What should I do?
645390 tn?1338555377 You go girl! It feels so good to feel so good! I tried Rozerem and it had no effect whatever. So much for that. But I can't recommend Xanax or any similar tranquilizer as a sleep aid. There are other meds that are much safer and less likely to cause addiction--for instance Ambien or Lunesta. And I know of others for which sleepiness is a side effect and which you can easily stop without bad effects. PM me if you'd like more info. Meanwhile, have a glorious day!
Avatar m tn There have been concerns about the safety of melatonin from what I know so Rozerem being an FDA approved medication in that in works in the same manner but is a known quantity is a better option. I was precribed Rozerem a while back to use as needed and I do so responsibly but it hasn't been in a long time. It can if directed by a psychiatrist be used every day to work to adjust the sleep cycle and has been helpful for some people I know in that regard.
994257 tn?1266242692 I know since I had trouble falling asleep in addition to sleep disruption I was prescribed the sleep aide Rozerem which is non addictive and actually adjusts the sleep cycle like melatonin but I don't know if it would be prescribed for sleep disruption but you could ask your psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn I am very sensitive to most psych meds. Currently taking Celexa 1mg daily, lamictal 12.5mg daily and seroquel 50 mg at bedtime to help me sleep. I've had problems with getting to sleep and staying asleep for several years. How long can I continue to take seroquel for sleep? Sometimes it works and sometimes not.
Avatar f tn I have chronic insomnia amid anxiety disorder. Can I use Rozerem at a dosage of 16 mg if 8 mg will not help?
Avatar f tn s in the long run but the effect can be masked while it is occuring and should not be given for assistance with sleeping for this reason. Lunesta and Rozerem are known sleep aides that are safe and effective and can be taken every day especially Rozerem which is derived from Melatonin and helps regulate the sleep cycle.
Avatar n tn So we tried sedatives (again on seperate occasions) 8mg Rozerem, 3mg Lunesta, and 10mg Ambien. Nothing has put me to sleep or kept me asleep. My doctor (and psychologist) now thinks Seroquel (100mg or 200mg) may be the answer. Anyone out there have any experience with this medication on a one time only basis? I just need it to fly there and two weeks later to fly back.
439168 tn?1307931740 Bipolar is a disorder that requires constant changing of medications and/or monitoring. So I see doctors fairly often for it. I was first started on lamictal. I was already on zoloft. I also have an antianxiety medication to help with the mania and to help me to relax. I take it every day. The problem that I am having now is when the mood stablizer was taken away (due to intolerance to the medication), I have not been sleeping. I took ambien in the past, but I hallucinated with it.
Avatar n tn Can anyone let me know if Rozerem 8mg (RX sleep aid) and Prozac 20 mg (antidepressant) are safe to take with methadone (15mg daily) I am detoxing after 15 years on MMT and have slowly "tapered" my dose from 60mg daily to 15mg daily. I am having some insomnia & depression/antiety issues related to my husband being on the waiting list for a liver transplant. Just want to make sure i'm not gonna "croak" if I take the other meds.
Avatar m tn There are safer sleeping medications such as Lunesta and Rozerem. My concern about Trazadone is the fact that it can cause tardive dyskinesia. If you are not taking it for depression but as a sleep aid you might want to ask your psychiatrist about the two I mentioned. This link is from a psychiatric journal and lists all known medications that can cause tardive dyskinesia and Trazadone is clearly listed as one.
479459 tn?1246742019 @# away from it until your thru the worst (if thats your sort of thing) I have been afraid to even have wine since sunday now. Im afraid to use my xanax and trazadone, **** im afraid of my rozerem LOL...Slept like **** last night until i took 5mg ambien which i used 4 days ago and nothing since but i could sleep at all so i did. It finally worked about 1am and then my f'in pager goes off for work at 3:19am and its spam not a page. I didnt really sleep after that. This blows...
