Rozerem weight gain

Common Questions and Answers about Rozerem weight gain

rozerem

Avatar f tn As for weight gain, this drug causes the most people to suffer weight gain of any antidepressant on the market. It's often given to the elderly who have stopped eating because it makes almost everyone want to eat while taking it. On the other hand, there have been people on this forum who found this the best anti-anxiety drug they ever took and who gained no weight at all on it, so everything depends on the person.
Avatar f tn I didnt know serequel cause weight gain. no wonder I gain so much weight. Im on geodon and serequel. Glad to be off geodon. Dr will put me on topamax soon/ serequel 200mg at bedtime really helps me sleep. Is there anything else helps sleep that wont cause weight gain? Is 200mg a high dose of serequel?
447130 tn?1225470866 I was on Seroquel 300mg a night for sleep. I gained 30 pounds in 3 months.I stopped the Seroquel 2 weeks ago. I did get hungry at night and sometimes had a snack but I hired a personal trainer and have been working 4 days a week for a straight hour of cardio style weight lifting (my heart rate maintains at 165 the whole hour) plus I have to do an hour of cardio everyday on top of the training. I have done this for 6 weeks now and have lost 2 pounds.
Avatar n tn So, I just got out of a psych hospital for the 3rd time in 3 months. I was diagnosed with PTSD and mood disorder. I am on a host of drugs that leave me zombie-like. I am taking Lamictal, Seroquel, Klonopin, Trazadone and Lithium. My Lithium dosage is 1050 mg a day. I am so tired and the weight gain and hair falling out are just two of the most troubling symptoms. My dr. doesn't even want me on an anti-depressant which I think will help. I am missing the occasional glass of wine.
Avatar m tn hi...i've since taken my self off of geodon. as a refresher i was taking 120mg and dropped down to 60 mg for a week. i've read lots of exteme withdrawal symptoms but in the 3 days i've been off i'm not experiencing anything. i'm thinking it's going to take about 2 weeks for my brain to adjust without any geodon and another 2 weeks to hopefully see if my sleep returns. would that be a good time frame to expect a change?
Avatar f tn Hello! Which sleeping pill is stronger, Belsomra or Rozerem? I take 2 tablets of Belsomra at night for 20 mg plus 2 tablets of Donormil. Should I try Rozerem?
Avatar m tn Has anyone tried taking rozerem to help sleep when tapering? I tried Abien a few years ago and it wired me all night. Last night, I took ,1 clonidine and 2 soma and I just knew that would put me to sleep and all it did was give me a big buzz and i was wired for a few hours. I know I just need some sleep!
Avatar n tn Then more recently----my doc had me on Cymbalta with my current meds minus the Xanax but I made the personal decision to stop the Seroquel after reading the trememdous amount of horrific side effects out there, including massive weight gain-----with some, over 100 lbs in a year. Within 10 years, I went from 10mgs of the stuff to 600 to knock me out for sleep, as I always thought I was given it for my insomnia and not Bipolar.
Avatar n tn She also has a sleep disorder that we finally saw a pediatric sleep specialist for-- now she uses a blue spectrum light every morning. Occasionally, we use Rozerem 8mg (prescribed by the peds sleep specialist) --but only occasionally when we are unable to do her light therapy. Is there any connection between sleep disorders & early adrenarche? And is this adrenarche when it is only her axillary area involved?
Avatar m tn t induce at night but feel sleepy at day time thus disturbing my working days.I want to start with Rozerem for inducing sleep.I wish to take this medication for a month or two and discontinue and get my sleep naturally as usual. Can the sleep disorder rebound after discontinuation? I've also been taking sertraline since many years, could these two drugs interact,if yes what are the effects?
Avatar m tn One good option you could ask your psychiatrist about is the medication Rozerem which works to adjust the sleep cycle and is safe and non addictive. There are other options as well but that's one worth asking about. Also it might be a simple matter of timing. If a medication keeps you awake at night you could ask your psychiatrist if you could take it earlier in the day and see if that helps. Discuss all this with them and see what they say.
Avatar m tn It appears to be similar in efficacy and like Ambien is meant for short term use only. Unless you've tried it Rozerem is one alternative that unlike Ambien or the medication you mentioned or Lunesta does not have a potential for a person to build up a tolerance to it and is an FDA approved medication that works like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle. You could ask your psychiatrist about that.
603015 tn?1329862973 I believe according to one post I saw melatonin is not available in Canada anymore because it is unsafe. Rozerem however, is an FDA approved medication. I was informed by my psychopharmocologist that Rozerem is completely non addictive and works differently from all other known sleep aides though you could look at the medication website and ask your own psychiatrist to confirm.

Avatar f tn I have even been put on Symbytax (sp) in order to try and help me gain weight. I gained 4lbs, but that was it. I looked that one up and it is for severe bipolar disorder. I am not even diagnosed with depression. Why are doctors so quick into anti-depressants for other symptoms? I guess I will just have to live with the insomnia. Thanks for your input....
Avatar f tn I have chronic insomnia amid anxiety disorder. Can I use Rozerem at a dosage of 16 mg if 8 mg will not help?
Avatar f tn Look up weight gain according to BMI and it will give you a good idea on the amount of weight you should gain according to your body type.
Avatar f tn Well I'm 7 months that means I'm 27 weeks and I have only gain 1 pound my midwife said it was OK 4 me to not gain weight bcz I'm over weight so u girls tell me it seems like I won't have to do a lot of weight loss. How far are u nd how much you gain?
Avatar f tn I have been tapered off Risperidone by my Pdoc and am stopping it tomorrow.Tegretol does not cause weight gain but in a small minority of patients it can cause a decrease in white cell counts or liver enzyme abnormalities so initially you will need blood tests to check your white cell count, liver function test and tegretol level in blood. After a few months you need to get these tests done once in six months.
Avatar f tn Trazodone or Rozerem but, in the end, none of them are a solution to insomnia because they don;t work well in the short term and stop working in the long-term. CBT is the only permanent, effective solution. Dr. Jacobs www.cbtforinsomnia.
Avatar f tn You won't gain weight until later...
Avatar f tn Of course you'll gain weight.
Avatar f tn Aww don't worry. In my experience, weight gain tends to stall at the end.
Avatar n tn You gain the most weight in the last 8 weeks. So you might barely gain now, and then pack it on fast toward the end which is normal.
Avatar f tn I know this is probably a stupid question, but I'm 36weeks pregnant and since my last doctors appointment I haven't gained any weight. I didn't gain weight in the 1st trimester due 2 sickness, but in the 3rd I've been pretty steady with my weight gain...at the very least a poun a week. And now it's been almost 2 weeks and still no weight gain. Could that mean anything? Or is it just normal? Thanks in advance!
1972798 tn?1355549267 So my dr says my weight gain is fine. He said 1 pound per week along I am.. So I am 32 weeks and I have gained 31 lbs... Does that sound like a lot?!? What has everyone else gained? Or is that a horrible question to ask everyone?
