Xanax is generally used short term as an anti-anxiety medication. Klonopin or another medication in the same category is safer used long term. Its not meant for use every day but in being potentially addictive must be titrated off slowly under a psychiatrists's supervision. I agree with Rebbecca, it's a high dose to start with and those can be side effects. It can make you feel very out of it, and tired, have difficulty concentrating and retaining information as well as other side effects.
