Rozerem kept me awake

Common Questions and Answers about Rozerem kept me awake

rozerem

Avatar n tn I am actually awake now by 8. I mean wide awake. I dont know what to do with myself with so much time awake during the day.
Avatar m tn One good option you could ask your psychiatrist about is the medication Rozerem which works to adjust the sleep cycle and is safe and non addictive. There are other options as well but that's one worth asking about. Also it might be a simple matter of timing. If a medication keeps you awake at night you could ask your psychiatrist if you could take it earlier in the day and see if that helps. Discuss all this with them and see what they say.
Avatar m tn Rather than sleep settling. The absolute last thing I need is to be kept awake and feel agitated and so on. It would drive me more nuts than I am. Have been fairly at peace for some time now and risking a med like this sounds like a no brainer. I'd have to have no brain to say yes wouldn't I? Appreciate your honesty and accuracy. I will check with the doc on the one IL mentioned as my need is to be sleepy when I go to bed.
Avatar f tn Ambien did absoutley nothing for me. Benadryl can sometimes have the opposite effect on me and have me tossing and turning when I take more than 50 mg.'s. Since I am already taking a benzodiazepine I don't want to take another.
Avatar f tn m up in the middle of the night wide awake. Any suggestions on a pill to keep me asleep that I can ask my pdoc to try. She just gives me more klonipin and Visteral and that's not working.
603015 tn?1329862973 I am aware that these are supposed to be used short term, they are not addictive but now 4 months on I am still taking them, my mood is much more settled but im not completley right yet, I have tried a few times to try and go to sleep but I am wide awake tossing and turning and I end up taking one in the middle of the night anyway. I have had the whole bath thing, no stimulents, relaxation techniques etc.. I just seem to have lost the ability to go to sleep.
Avatar f tn Hello! Which sleeping pill is stronger, Belsomra or Rozerem? I take 2 tablets of Belsomra at night for 20 mg plus 2 tablets of Donormil. Should I try Rozerem?
985832 tn?1249126599 Just when I laydown to go to sleep its like a light switch comes on and I am wide awake again. It really drags me down during the day. I do walk everyday and I take melatonin at night but even though it makes me really sleepy I never stay asleep. Help needs some zzzzzzzzzzz. I think we all know with Bipolar sleep is a must. PS This has been going on for years!!!
736314 tn?1276884623 I am taking lunesta and guess what. I am wide awake. It usually works for me but not tonight i guess.
Avatar f tn d greatly appreciate any and all input and/or insight, where it be good, bad, or indifferent, or information from anyone who has done research regarding its use (if the latter is the case, please send me the URL to bookmarked articles or other medical literature, especially regarding its efficacy.) If this is just another of the same in the meek and mild category for insomniacs as Ambien and Lunesta are, it will act like a placebo for me, and therefore please do not recommend it.
Avatar n tn She also has a sleep disorder that we finally saw a pediatric sleep specialist for-- now she uses a blue spectrum light every morning. Occasionally, we use Rozerem 8mg (prescribed by the peds sleep specialist) --but only occasionally when we are unable to do her light therapy. Is there any connection between sleep disorders & early adrenarche? And is this adrenarche when it is only her axillary area involved?
Avatar m tn Have you tried melatonin? About the safest supplement around, and one of the most researched pharmaceutical products out there. Very small doses work best for sleep, about .5mg or 1mg. I'd rather take the real thing than a chemical variant such as Rozerem, but that's just me. They're both pharmaceutical products, and melatonin is a lot cheaper and has been used a lot longer.
1673169 tn?1316541930 I found it worked right away for me. You shouldn't take it every night though because it can then affect your own bodies ability to create melatonin. I just take it when I know I need a good nights sleep. You may also want to ask about something like seroquel to help you sleep.
Avatar m tn t induce at night but feel sleepy at day time thus disturbing my working days.I want to start with Rozerem for inducing sleep.I wish to take this medication for a month or two and discontinue and get my sleep naturally as usual. Can the sleep disorder rebound after discontinuation? I've also been taking sertraline since many years, could these two drugs interact,if yes what are the effects?
Avatar m tn It appears to be similar in efficacy and like Ambien is meant for short term use only. Unless you've tried it Rozerem is one alternative that unlike Ambien or the medication you mentioned or Lunesta does not have a potential for a person to build up a tolerance to it and is an FDA approved medication that works like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle. You could ask your psychiatrist about that.
Avatar f tn Last year, it did the trick, it would put me to sleep within an hour, and keep me alseep for most of the night, within 2 weeks I was able to stop taking it & get back to a normal sleeping pattern. This year I started taking the Lunesta again, & have now refilled the RX, so it's about 3 weeks on it. It will put me to sleep within an hour, but I wake up in about 4-5 hours. I'm not wide awake, but I kind of toss & turn til it's time to get up.
Avatar f tn 30pm, fell asleep at about 1:00am, woke up at eleven. Oh my gosh...I feel great..All I needed was sleep. Now I feel so much stronger mentally, knowing Im gonna get sleep tonight.. I know this my seem corny to some of you, but I never had a sleep problem until I quit the hydrocodones that I was addicted to for three years. So those of you that just quit, don't give up you will get through the withdrawls and feel like yourself again. So if you want to ask me a question, please do.
737831 tn?1232095919 My dr gave me Ambien, but it did not help, so he gave me Seroquel. It is a bp med and it helps me sleep. You do need to get help asap before something happens to you. If you get a few hours a day, it just takes a little longer to affect you but straight days affect you a lot faster. Hope this helps you. The Crisis Center can provide help that trying to qualify by paperwork can't.
883607 tn?1241847511 Had a high a couple of weeks ago, meds kept it moderate (for me) and crisis plan got me down. But then I get caught trying to catch up on the work stuff that got left behind. When I focus, I just keep going, Like its 32 hrs awake so far. Also, can't sleep at the moment anyway. I'm not tired of course, so I'll probably go for a few more hours (it's 8am here now). Not sure about the quality of my labours though! I have Seroquel but hate the stuff.
Avatar n tn I tend to be concerned about some natural remedies (the ones I take were approved after research by my providers) as they are unknown quantities and not always safe. I also remember valerian for example kept me up the whole night. I try to stick with FDA approved medications whenever possible though with some of the treatments I am on there is clinical research behind them even though they are not approved yet. With sleep herbal tea can be of help for some people though.
Avatar f tn However, ever since I started Lexapro it no longer does that for me. Lexapro gives me the feeling of feeling half awake and half asleep. It gives me vivid dreams too. I'd rather get off it and use Clonazepam when I need it until this stressful time of my life passes. Lexapro is not for me, but it's worked so well on other people. I actually purchased the Fisher Wallace Stimulator to help with my anxiety. Have you heard of this machine? Some people swear that it works.
Avatar m tn hi...i've since taken my self off of geodon. as a refresher i was taking 120mg and dropped down to 60 mg for a week. i've read lots of exteme withdrawal symptoms but in the 3 days i've been off i'm not experiencing anything. i'm thinking it's going to take about 2 weeks for my brain to adjust without any geodon and another 2 weeks to hopefully see if my sleep returns. would that be a good time frame to expect a change?
Avatar f tn I have chronic insomnia amid anxiety disorder. Can I use Rozerem at a dosage of 16 mg if 8 mg will not help?
Avatar f tn Now i think tht they are connected by whoever he was talking to last night i had the same consept dream could wake up no matter how gard i tired but this time i was in the bed where i feel asleep and i thought that my mom cause she was staying the night got up and went downstair cause the lights were opened but i could move and then i think this blonde guy popped put of no where and started doing the same consept things i kept screaming trying to make it to where it could get through the real m
Avatar f tn The past few nights I have been kept awake with numbness in my right arm :( it's not painful but very uncomfortable. Any ideas how to deal with it? I read it could be carpal tunnel syndrome but hoping something will help as otherwise I'll never get any sleep.
Avatar m tn Way back you posted about trazadone as being a possible cause of tardives dyskinesia. I have taken it for 3 yrs.as a sleep aid for fibromyalgia & anxiety & it has helped a lot. I can't take Ambien or z-drugs. They wire me & work the opposite just as benadryl does for me, but I am terrified of getting TD or dystonia from the trazadone. How great is the risk? My Dr. told me that in 38 yrs. she has never seen anyone get TD from it & that 50 mg.
778741 tn?1237641888 try to learn from me. i was having bad RLS in my left arm and i kept over analyzing my lack of sleep. it took weeks for me to finally have a calm enough mind for resting as i had sleep problems to begin with. at some point, when i realized i wasnt going to die from not sleeping, i started to not worry about it as much. i would try to sleep for a few hours and if i felt the RLS coming, i would just get up and watch tv or go for a walk or play guitar.
741315 tn?1232458427 Ambien is not meant for everyday use as a sleeping aide as it can be addictive. Lunesta or Rozerem are two better choices. Rozerem works in the same manner as Melatonin and actually adjusts the sleep cycle. Those are some ideas to speak to your psychiatrist about.
