Common Questions and Answers about Rosuvastatin crp

crestor

Avatar n tn Watch your cholesterol, get a high-sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) checked -- according to the JUPITOR trial, IF your CRP is elevated, you could benefit from statins (e.g. rosuvastatin) even if you have "normal" cholesterol.
Avatar n tn However, there is also the risk of liver inflammation due to the medicine Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and it is conceivable that there could be an additive effect of Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and INH. In addition, niacin may increase the risk of muscle disease called myopathy when used with Crestor® (rosuvastatin). Crestor® (rosuvastatin) significantly increases the INR (enhances the effect of Coumadin to make your blood “thinner” than it would be alone.
Avatar n tn doctor has adviced me to take rosuvastatin and fenofibrate tablets.can you please tell me whether it helps to reduce weight?
Avatar m tn The authors concluded that, in apparently healthy persons with elevated C-reactive protein levels, rosuvastatin (Crestor) significantly reduced the incidence of major cardiovascular events. Their much-publicized claim, that this statin lowers the risk of heart attack by approximately one half, is technically correct though highly misleading. The reported annual incidence of coronary events was 37 people in 10,000 (controls) and 17 people in 10,000 (treated).
Avatar f tn There was also a modest reduction in all-cause mortality in the rosuvastatin group. At 12 months, the median hs-CRP level was 37% lower in the rosuvastatin group compared to placebo, from a baseline level of 2.2 mg/l, and median LDL cholesterol was 50% lower in the rosuvastatin group compared to placebo, from a baseline level of 186 mg/dl. I do agree, lifestyle changes should always be the first line of defense for high cholesterol.
Avatar n tn Hi Driven, you need to go through them and see for your self about the side effects, but there a lot of drugs out that cause ED as side effects, if yoiu dont now have your drug data sheets anymore just google them.
Avatar f tn The cardiologist at a private medical centre was not able to help much to control the rate, and he was prescribed Herbesser 200mg (diltiazem), Propranolol 20mg (10mg x 2), Lasix, Slow K (potassium supplement), warfarin 2mg and rosuvastatin 10mg (for cholesterol). But his condition persists. He gets breathless easily. We have heard of ways to cure Afib, one of which is ablation, and have contacted the National Heart Institute.
Avatar m tn I am 49 yr old male, non-smoker, and my score has jumped 73 points in 5 years to 126 even though I have been on 5 mg (and 10 mg the past year) of rosuvastatin over the last 5 years. My LDL was 127 a year ago. Stress test 7 years ago was fine. Any advice? Also, is this an accurate statement? A calcium score of 101-400 signifies intermediate risk of an event. The predicted 10-year chance of an event is between 13-16%.

Avatar f tn CRP levels can fluctuate over time so most experts are now recommend measuring two CRP levels a few weeks apart and averaging the two values. CRP appears and then disappears sooner than changes in the ESR. CRP is not affected by as many other factors as is ESR, making it a better marker of inflammation. Although a result above 1 mg/L is usually considered high for CRP, most infections and inflammations result in CRP levels above 10 mg/L.
Avatar n tn Also doctor advised to recheck the CRP level after two days. As he said we checked the CRP level again and the report indicates low CRP level(nearly 7). This test had been done by not the previous Lab. After the test we went to the previous lab and inform about the issue. They said again and again their test is not wrong and in some patient, CRP level can be changed in sudden(hour by hour) .This is my problem. Is there any possibility for changing CRP level in sudden?

Avatar n tn Hello everybody, ESR & CRP are the main markers of infection in most of the countries, and I am trying to formulate a pattern to differentiate if Virus, Bacteria's or fungus or other organisms that will affect the ESR & CRP levels .. This will help lot of others who are still trying to diagnose their issues. If you have come across any STD's and if you know your ESR or CRP levels ( increased, or unaffected ) please mention in the below format.
