603015 tn?1329862973 Has anyone had severe anxiety and stomach ache as a side effect of resperidone ???
Avatar f tn It has many side effects and there are other meds that can work as well. Do take a look at the many side effects of Risperidone. I do not know your daughters age, but it is not recommended below certain age levels. Hopefully this is a psychiatrist that prescribed this med. and not a general md? If you have any more questions please post.
Avatar n tn This is something that you should ask your Doctor about ,here is a link may be helpful, there is much on line regarding this www.mayoclinic.com/health/drug.../DSECTION=side-effects my opinion is it could be side effects of stopping the med .
Avatar f tn //www.pharmacydrugguide.com/Risperdal_Side_Effects and this one is for Coupons http://www.pharmacydrugguide.com/Risperdal_Coupons. Still need to google and find more information on this drug and it's uses. But thought i would share this part.
Avatar f tn I was on Seroquel and Risperidone and it caused me nightmares to the point where I would wake up from my own screams (or crying) and I couldn't remember the dreams at all, just the feeling I had when I woke up... I was only on them for a short while (maybe a few days to a week, sorry I don't remember as I was in the hospital and this was 2008) and the nightmares just recently stopped.
Avatar m tn How do you manage withstand side effects of both Risperidone and Seroquel.I found even 1mg of Risperidone made me edgy, nervous and anxious. My hypomanic episode resolved in July and my Pdoc was a month late in tapering Risperidone. He started tapering process in September. In future I shall keep far away from these antipsychotics as possible.A most distasteful experience.
Avatar n tn Hi, My son has TS & has had very good results with Haldol with slight negative effects. When U say that ".... on the internet. All of them have awful side effects." Each patient reacts differently & won't have ALL those side effects or any. The percentages for each side effect are listed. Neurologists usually treat TS instead of Psychs. Also, Xenazine is for adults & was used in Canada & Europe before it was approved in the US about 2+ yrs ago.
Avatar m tn I am in full blown withdrawal symptoms from stopping risperidone with anxiety and my psychiatrist is back 5 days later.I had to stop because of side effects at 1 mg.What should I do?
990744 tn?1249281999 I read it is okay but to watch for neonatal side effects, which are quite scary and seem traumitising for the child. If I get my citalopram perscription reduced will it still have neo natal effects on our baby?
Avatar n tn and so he has presrcibed the Risperal. we are nervous about what we are reading for side effects including males developing breasts and milk. we are looking for someone who has used it a while in a young boy.
Avatar m tn s well known that it causes extra pyramidal effect that is one of the side effects of risperidone, but about tardive dyskinia if you meant by TD, I think antipsychotics at this dose have to be taken for a long time.
Avatar f tn It is normally used to treat people with serious mental health problems like schizophrenia. It is a newer type of antipsychotic drug and may have fewer side effects than older antipsychotic drugs. Risperidone has sometimes been given to people in the later stages of dementia.
Avatar n tn My Psychiatrist restarted me on low dose risdone of 1 mg and is tapering me off in 4 weeks.my side effects have abated and I am 16 days away from stopping Risperidone.
Avatar n tn Hi there. Risperidone is an atypical antipsychotic drug with certain side effects. These are sedation, dysphoria, insomnia, sexual dysfunction, muscle stiffness, muscle pain, constipation, photosensitivity and alopecia. The fall could also lead to local tissue spasm and tightness in the surrounding muscles. She needs to be seen by an orthopaedician to rule out this as an effect of injury ad also check for an missed fractures.
1649932 tn?1348082640 A couple of the many, many side effects of risperidone are agitation and anxiety. Also, this medication is recommended to be initially dosed at 1mg bid (TWICE A DAY) with incremental increases of 1mg bid on days 2 and 3 to a dose of 3 mg bid on day 3. (This would be a total of 6mg per day) If you have been on risperidone for three weeks and you're still on the starting dose, you need to ask your doctor why he is keeping you at the level.
1625195 tn?1332178662 You can also go on the website of the manufacturer, which will have a list of all the known side effects. There are also many websites that discuss medication and their side effects. But do know that different people have different reactions to medication, and so a drug might sedate one person and not another. And some meds are sedating only until you get used to them. So it's not really possible to tell you for certain what you will experience.
1696867 tn?1312609591 My question is, how long do I need to put up with the side effects? It is effecting my home and work life ( I have even had to go part time - just can't function). I want to feel "stable", but to what extent should if ruin the rest of my life?
Avatar f tn wow - i'm surprised your pdoc told you that! That's what they are there for... to advise on the side effects of the medications that they are prescribing. It could very possibly be the Abilify side effects, or it could be your anxiety about starting a new med.... If you don't see a let up in symptoms within the next few days I would call your pdoc back and let them know you're having side effects...
Avatar f tn The Sizodon is Risperidone used for mood disorders and the clonil is for OCD. Did you google the side effects of each drug? Did the doc say why he/she was putting you on Sizodon and clonil together?
Avatar m tn if you don't have side effects from tegretol, good. tegretol is one out of the three classical antimanic and MS the other 2 are lithium and depakote. it's still used especially in the commonwealth countries though less in the states due to its high interactivity with other drugs.
Avatar f tn Stopping any medication should be done at the psychiatrist's exact titration schedule. I learned the hard way from discontinuing medications too fast before my current recovery. And also you would have the return of symptoms it is treating. If you can't tolerate the side effects or feel it is not workable best to speak to your psychiatriat about other available options and if you would like to try discontinuing it ask for a titration schedule from them on how to do it.
2010625 tn?1329372056 Hiya. I've been taking lithium for about five years and I didn't really get any side effects from it after the first few weeks. In the beginning I felt very sick and had a mild headache but it settled down. I take lamictal as well and had zero side effects from that, no major ones on risperidone when I took that. I couldn't tolerate quetiapine at all, olanzapine causes me a few problems. I've tried a lot of different meds over the years like you. I guess what I'm saying is.
