I wonder if at the heart of it, this is a political issue and has anything to do with the Orphan Drug laws. Before these laws were in place, drugs were often not developed for conditions that occurred relatively low in the population, due to low profitability for the drug companies. As I understand it, under the Orphan Drug laws, these companies are now eligible for incentives to develop drugs which might not otherwise be developed.

Infectious myocarditis is relatively rare, and it is very startling when it occurs, maybe especially in young people (but older folks are pretty darned shocked, too). Each case is individual, and unfortunately we are only patients like you--not doctors. You simply must write down your questions and concerns in an organized way and *ask* your doctors, who know your history and have examined and treated you, about this. Wow what a small world. We all know it's business. I know it's all about insurance. I hate to see any drugs cost without insurance. My father has MDS and is taking Revlimid. Without Medicare or insurance or without medicine company's financial aid, it's 10,000 dollars for 30 day supply. But with Medicare it's 300 dollars. But when you represent a company, you are the image of what the company represents. The system works sometimes and it does work else where.

You know how I got over it, I volunteered as a foster mom for orphan kittens. The leader would come from them after I bottle fed and they were on solid food. It sounds like malnutrition or the wrong nutrition. If I remember correctly I gave an orphan kitten egg yolk as well as milk. Cat milk has a very high protein content. Also young kittens cannot defecate or urinate without being massaged, but I can't remember until what age you have to do this. Speak to your vet.
