restasis side effects headache

m wondering about the side effects of Restasis as I have to use it for 6 months. I know it is an immunosuppressive drug and I really don't know what that means? Does that leave my body open for other diseases because it suppresses my system so the eyes can make the tear film that was partially lost when the nerves were cut during the cataract operations? I don't want to be dependent on drugs for the rest of my life.

Should I try plugs 1st and if not successful, then go back to Restasis? 3. In reading about Restasis, are there future bad side effects in continued use such as cancer? I am starting to question if I should get another opinion. Thank you for any suggestions that you may have.

So today my Celexa dose was upped from half a pill to 1 whole pill and the side effects are coming back like when I first started... Sweaty, can't sleep, headache, stiff neck, clenching teeth... Etc. I don't know what to do. I tried taking stuff for it, including an Oxy but still no change. What can I take to make these side effects not so bad? I don't see the dr till Thursday, so I can't ask her... If anyone has any suggestions?

Hi everyone, I had a LP last Thursday and everything was ok till yesterday I got a headache that came and went but this morning I woke up with the headache and have also been throwing up, does this sound normal, should I wait it out.

but the problem for me is it seems i have either a hypersensitivity in taking either one and develop side effects after a while where i seem to get headaches and an uncomfortable feeling in my throat... It's really a shame because the benefit are wonderful but the side effects are very annoying, to say the least...

yes, it is Trileptal. Side effects I have had recently are neutremia, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, headache....seeing my psych doc next week. I am very disappointed that she did not catch this. I will slowly reducing my dose (I'm at 1800 mg now) in order to go off this drug, AND, I will never go back to this psych doc again.

I had no side effects at all and was able to continue my XC skiing and cycling as normal. Some do have side effects like fatigue, headache and anemia but I have not heard about anything very severe with this treatment.

I had many side effects. Headaches, severe heartburn accompanied with hiccups. Blisters and discoloration all over my tongue and back of my throat. By day 6 my feet and ankles were badly swollen and it was getting difficult to swallow. My doc said I was having a systemic reaction and to quit immediately. The side effects I had with clomid was a very mild headache, and moodiness later in my cycle. I was only on 50 mg per day for 5 days. I never really had physical pain or tiredness with clomid, but I did have the mental stuff a little bit. With the injectibles, I had lots of physical uncomfortableness (still do !!! ) but no real mental/emotional stuff. It's sort of hard to tell if the drugs are making us crazy, or the process we're having to go through month in and month out, eh?!

sorry to hear your hubby is having a hard time. sounds like he is having some of the common side effects. There is nothing that can boost platlets but many docs let them go really low before lowering or stopping the meds. Try and get back on the full strength of interferon ASAP! i had cataract sursery 9 months ago, have been noticing poorer vision, was diagnosed with 'dry eyes'. Have been using Restasis for two weeks now, eyes seem irritated, are red, I need to blink a lot. Usually at your age its associated with problems like rheumatoid arthritis or the like. Use the search feature and read about all the treatment for dry eys. Restasis is your best bet and it take about 4 months to start to work but often gets better and better for up to a year. Ask your Eye MD about "lacriserts" this is a 24 hour release pellet this is put between the lid and the eye. Often helps when all else fails.
