I am on Requip for Restless Leg Syndrome, which I learned alot of Fibro sufferers have, and I love it! It also helps tremendously with my terrible foot pain I have in the day. I can't do without it! This is one of the few meds I haven't had any adverse effects from either. Hope that helps!

ve never felt pain like it full body spasms again all over in my jaw even my eys, just like how it started back in May 2007 ( although i'd been ill since jan 2007 after the car accident in nov 2006 which seems to of set it off from there. anyway not sure any of that made sense my brain is all mush today. Lots of things do trigger RLS and make it worse, but I have no idea how the thyroid works with that. There is an rls.org website that has a list of stuff that can make RLS worse. Remember "worse" is generally temporary, like a lot of standing one day will make your legs hurt more for a while, until you've had a chance to rest.

He determined this to be rare side effects from Requip. Took me off straightaway. I hated that because it worked so well, but side effects were intolerable. This as of April 28th. Was started on Sinemet. Was told this does not work as well as Requip, but was less likely to have same side effects. Said he could add darvocet if necesary.Also take ativan 1mg 3 x daily since the brain surgery, and 1-2 at night for help with sleep. Every other sleep aid made above symptoms worse.

Congrats on your clean time and I hope the RLS goes away but I would also try Requip!

well...i can give u a bit of info on rls...dunno if it will help;;;always helps me to know the cause of mt dilemna an addict has been feeding their brain with outside endorphins/then they stop/the brain freaks out but will adjust to make the endorphins again//the brain is a finely tuned organ...it sensed the outside supply...and quit or cut down on production/mainly dopamine have u any knowledge of parkinsons? the jerks and twitches they have? parkinsons is caused from a lack of dopamine...

you've described rls perfectly...its very common for addicts to have this during their wds. it's also a medical mystery for other people who have never used or been addicted...they use requip to treat it, but its non-narcotic. rls is just torture when you only wanna sleep...i'm still waiting for mine to end. maybe tonight?

Dear Kat, I do know that taking Requip itself can cause hallucinations. But he's been taken off it. Now, stopping Requip can cause confusion. So, I don't know what to make of it. I do recall when I had pneumonia, I was out of my mind, and I have never taken Requip. I suppose it's possible he's having a combination of fever hallucinations, left-over Requip hallucinations, and withdrawal confusion. Any way you look at it, he's having a very hard time.

Have been taking Lexapro 20 mg for about a year and very much improved. Unable to acieve orgasm even with erection. How long does thia side effect last after weaning off Lexapro with doctor's approval???

Have had following symptoms,increasing frequency since 11/05. Background:50F.5/05 Resection meningioma right parietal. 09/05 diagnosed Hashimotos Hypothyroid. Synthroid.137 TSH 1.87 FT4 1.40.10/07 neuro diagnosed RLS. Besides known rls symptoms had/have morning symptoms. Awakened early AM startled, stressed,wired/ tired,sense of dread,shaky,jumping out of skin,adrenaline rush. Difficult to describe, determined not panic attacks. Somewhat relieved getting up to move around.

t say for sure, I would have to look it up. As for it being from w/d I think it still works. I am almost sure that someone else here has used it and it worked for them. I can check into it more if u like?!

My doctor put me on Carbidopa/levo er (generic) it is cheap and works wonders. It is a parkinsons med, but at the amount that is taken for RLS I have had no side effects at all. They take 36 a day for parkinson's and I have to take anywhere from 3-8 a day depending on how severe.

There is a product called Hyland's Restful Legs sold OTC at Walgreens/Walmart. It works great. Also, add some potassium and magnesium tablets and Epsom salt baths and you'll feel much better!

i am not a nurse..but I do know that you can take Requip with pain meds.I took it and my husband currently takes it..He also takes plenty of Norco and Percs..The Requip works very well for him..he suffers from RLS pretty bad ..He has no side effects from it and takes it at bedtime..@10 pm..and he gets up for work @5am..he doesn't feel groggy or anything...you should give it a try..especially when you are in w/d.. If your taking anything else..

Hardest part of my previous detoxing was getting pass the RLS. Even with the Requip, it was rough that first night. Instead of my legs shaking...it was my arms. I would have passed as a really good "air" boxer. The submoxone helped alot. It curb alot of the craving, but I only had three 8mgs. I'm out of those right now and the w/d's coming back. It look like it's going to be a rough night. Good luck to all that are still fighting the good fight.

I have bad RLS and take Requip for the weird symptoms and that works. But the pain at night is what I started the norco for. Now trying to dtop that. Keep it up. Keep us posted.

I ask because I started Sub 4 months ago and still have RLS and my doc said it could be something I will have the rest of my life, and suggested Requip but I have yet to try it. Congrats on not going back to the Mirapex, and also on controlling the gambling addiction! Are you getting any outside help for this ie; counseling? My Dad had a gambling addiction for years and bet and lost the "farm" more times than I can remember.

I will have to go back and see if I can find that one. It was really interesting. Seems to be all upside down in the way it works as to the way you would think it did. I alwasys thought when stocks were way up, it was a good thing. I will have to see if I can find it or the link to it so ya all can have a look see.

Has anyone experienced severe muscle cramps all over, and found any treatment that works? My husband needs a transplant, but right now his main problem is the severe cramping all over his body, which is debilitating him. We have gotten many possibilities of what is could be, but no real treatment for it. Any suggestions?
