Common Questions and Answers about How requip works

requip

Avatar f tn Lots of things do trigger RLS and make it worse, but I have no idea how the thyroid works with that. There is an rls.org website that has a list of stuff that can make RLS worse. Remember "worse" is generally temporary, like a lot of standing one day will make your legs hurt more for a while, until you've had a chance to rest.
Avatar f tn Congrats on your clean time and I hope the RLS goes away but I would also try Requip!
Avatar f tn Last night was bad, tonight probably going to be worse. Let me know how requip works.
Avatar n tn well...i can give u a bit of info on rls...dunno if it will help;;;always helps me to know the cause of mt dilemna an addict has been feeding their brain with outside endorphins/then they stop/the brain freaks out but will adjust to make the endorphins again//the brain is a finely tuned organ...it sensed the outside supply...and quit or cut down on production/mainly dopamine have u any knowledge of parkinsons? the jerks and twitches they have? parkinsons is caused from a lack of dopamine...
372416 tn?1242665752 I've been seeing a lot of posts about RLS. I'm curious to know how would you describe this? In my detox it was like an uncontrollable urge to just allow my legs to spazz out....like as if they were battery operated and set on vibrate. If I wouldn't let them do that, and try to just lay still I'd loose my mind. I got some klonipin and it helped a lot. RLS didn't last longer than a week for me. But I believe I've had a form of this all of my life.
Avatar f tn our father who is 78 is starting to hallucinate he was hospitalized about a month ago for pneumonia.he was also taking requip for his restless legs, the doc. took him off of requip because of side affects 4 days ago. we dont know if that could be the cause of his condition or not,he also had a cat scan of the brain, it was normal.he sees people that are not there, he realizes later that it is not real. he is getting depressed and scared,we dont know what to do anymore.
Avatar n tn Have been taking Lexapro 20 mg for about a year and very much improved. Unable to acieve orgasm even with erection. How long does thia side effect last after weaning off Lexapro with doctor's approval???
Avatar f tn Merri, I had RLS before I was on the pills also. The dr. gave me a script for requip. Its for Parkinson. That works wonders for me. It didn't get rid of it completely while going thru WDs but it finely kicked in. Now I'm not bothered with it anymore. I'm 7 months clean today.
Avatar f tn This result met with little concern. After diagnosis RLS 10/07 started Requip. Worked like magic from first .Actual RLS symptoms abated, bad wakings CEASED. Was at 2 mg nightly. End 1/08 small weight gain, minor edema. Short of breath. Suddenly symptoms increased.Gained more than 25 lbs in 10 weeks.Feet/ ankles/ fingers/abdomen terribly swollen. All sorts of tests including kidney, liver, congestive heart failure. No answers. Back to  neuro.
445838 tn?1205786577 Can u talk to ur Dr. ? There is a script for RLS and it works good. Maybe that will help you? I hope u get some relief.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried Requip for Restless Legs while trying to detox off of Subutex or Suboxone? This is the worst part for me in trying to get off of Subutex & I am literally scared sh**less of them. I had them so bad that I almost over-dosed on Klonopin & Somas (from a family member) to rid myself of them. I am on less than 1 mg of Subutex a day now & having anxiety & diarrhea. That I can handle, but the RLS I can not. Any advice or experience would be great!
3141490 tn?1343129677 How long did your rls last? Im know everyone is different. what is the best way to ease or even eliminate it all together? Im on day6 with 6 hours into it off of vicodins less then a year of using. It only bothers me at night. as soon as it gets dark and no matter what im doing. Im still on crutches so walking is not going to help. Thanks for the input.
Avatar f tn He also takes plenty of Norco and Percs..The Requip works very well for him..he suffers from RLS pretty bad ..He has no side effects from it and takes it at bedtime..@10 pm..and he gets up for work @5am..he doesn't feel groggy or anything...you should give it a try..especially when you are in w/d.. If your taking anything else..a pharmacist can let you know if there is any contradictions between meds.. I know that RLS can drive a person nuts..I was fortunate this time around..
1390101 tn?1281000559 Yes, I tried all of that I do not know how long withdrawal symtoms last. I was also on exflexor for my anxiety and ween myself off of that. I figure a combination of both are probably the cause of waking up and not being able to say asleep.
Avatar f tn Has anyone experienced severe muscle cramps all over, and found any treatment that works? My husband needs a transplant, but right now his main problem is the severe cramping all over his body, which is debilitating him. We have gotten many possibilities of what is could be, but no real treatment for it. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn I take Requip for it. Works great. One before I go to bed.
Avatar f tn Just gave 2 excedrine pm.. Does anyone know how much Requip needed?
Avatar f tn I've got severe RLS 24/7 and have been taking Requip for the past several years, Mirapex before that. It's gotten worse lately so the doctor had me go cold turkey 5 days ago. He gave me Klonopin to take at night, but it doesn't do anything other than make me even more tired. I managed to get 6 hours sleep on day 4, but that's it for the whole week. The doctor says that I can't go back on the dopamines (Requip) since they have started augmentation (making the RLS worse).
Avatar f tn I was never on that high of a dose. I think the maximum dose I was on was 600mg/day. It never gave me mood imbalances, but I was definitely aware of the risk because the prescription came with a huge, can't miss warning label that it may cause changes in mood including suicidal thoughts. I guess I got lucky in that regard, but it did make me a little spacey and dizzy which I didn't like. I was also on Lyrica at one point which completely messed me up.
Avatar f tn Any time I sit down from about 11 am on I feel the creepy crawlies, then the kicking, stretching starts. I take a 2 mg Requip at bedtime and now my doctor has added a 1 mg Klonopin. That makes me so sleepy I'm usually in bed by 7:30 which I hate. How does a person get through the day with RLS symptoms. I forgot to add I have had RLS for many years but it continues to get worse.
Avatar n tn I was reading your post and was wondering what your withdrawing from and how long has it been? I am a bit concerned that you are using valium, requip, morphine, etc... If your w/d off of opiates, then why use the morphine? Just an opinion, and you can tell me to shove it, that's o.k., but do you think it's the best idea to w/d using other drugs? Kind of defeats the purpose, don't you think?
Avatar f tn Can anyone PLEASE tell me how long it takes before your legs and arms stop moving around when trying to sleep?????? It is awful!!!!! :( What can one do to help this along...
