It's possible that you have a real medical issue with RLS and if that's the case Requip works great and it's not addictive!
On the other hand if it does have something to do with w/d's then I would suggest eating bananas as they really do help.
If the bananas don't work after a few days then I would go to your doctor and tell him what's going on with your legs and he will probably give you the Requip. I'm currently taking it and with no side effects at all.
our father who is 78 is starting to hallucinate he was hospitalized about a month ago for pneumonia.he was also taking requip for his restless legs,the doc. took him off of requip because of side affects 4 days ago. we dont know if that could be the cause of his condition or not,he also had a cat scan of the brain, it was normal.he sees people that are not there, he realizes later that it is not real. he is getting depressed and scared,we dont know what to do anymore.
The main thing of course is the decision that he makes and making it a priority in his life, because that will determine what his life will actually be and mean in the end. I don't want to sound preachy but it is not a decision he will make one day, it is a decision he will make every day for the rest of his life. 5-6 years ago, she started parkinson treatment as 3 per day 25/100 sinemet. Half year ago, her motion slows down, drooling a lot. Sinemet was increased to 3 per day 25/250. it really helped at first. 2 months later, dyskinesia occurred in tongue/jaw, drooling returned. Sinemet dosage then was decreased to 2 per day 25/250 (9am, 2pm), Requip 0.125 (9pm). Dyskinesia improved. 1.5 month ago, teeth grinding started day and night.
Been pretty good besides two sleepless night do to restless leg. Went to doctor today and gave me requip for that so we will see how tonight goes. Best of luck to everyone out there! Say a prayer every chance you get for me!

Muscle cramps are a common complication of cirrhosis. About half of all persons with cirrhosis experience muscle cramps. Muscle cramps are related to the duration of cirrhosis and the severity of liver damage.The exact reason for leg cramps is unknown. More study must be done in this area before we have a real solution for at least most sufferers. It's cause is probably multiple factors. So there is no one effective treatment for cramps.
over a 1 year ago. sept 16 2016 I was given an injection of abilify maintaina. It;s like one of the longest acting injectable antipsychotics with a half life of 45 days. On top of that it turns out I don't even metabolise abilify so it took like 90 days or so for the side effects to even begin to lessen. It was absolute hell from the hour it was given. The only way I made it through it was some knowledge of oddball things inluding illicit dopamine drugs.
This result met with little concern. After diagnosis RLS 10/07 started Requip. Worked like magic from first .Actual RLS symptoms abated, bad wakings CEASED. Was at 2 mg nightly. End 1/08 small weight gain, minor edema. Short of breath. Suddenly symptoms increased.Gained more than 25 lbs in 10 weeks.Feet/ ankles/ fingers/abdomen terribly swollen. All sorts of tests including kidney,liver,congestive heart failure. No answers. Back to neuro.
I'm so tired!!! Such a simple complaint that has taken over my life. Over 18 months of mind numbing, life-disturbing fatigue. I am so tired I literally can't see straight, am clumsy, and frequently let my husband do all the driving- which I hate because I hate not driving.
I've had the thyroid tests, was on synthroid for low TSH and low FT4.... no other signs of hypopituitary so the doctor stopped the synthroid. I was tired on synthroid, continue to be tired not taking synthroid.
