Common Questions and Answers about Requip dosage rls

requip

Avatar n tn Has anybody had success with requip? If so, what dosage of requip worked for you? They have .25, .5, 1.0, and 2.0. Do you take the medicine at night only or during the day too? I really appreciate your help. I made it 14 days off hydros last year, but the RLS was agonizing and I gave in. I want to do EVERYTHING I can to help ease this upcoming hell.
Dog Besides Mirapex, the other medications that are approved to treat Restless Legs Syndrome are Neurontin, Requip and Neupro. I recommend speaking to your doctor about these medications to see if one may be appropriate for you.
372416 tn?1242665752 you've described rls perfectly...its very common for addicts to have this during their wds. it's also a medical mystery for other people who have never used or been addicted...they use requip to treat it, but its non-narcotic. rls is just torture when you only wanna sleep...i'm still waiting for mine to end. maybe tonight?
Avatar f tn This result met with little concern. After diagnosis RLS 10/07 started Requip. Worked like magic from first .Actual RLS symptoms abated, bad wakings CEASED. Was at 2 mg nightly. End 1/08 small weight gain, minor edema. Short of breath. Suddenly symptoms increased.Gained more than 25 lbs in 10 weeks.Feet/ ankles/ fingers/abdomen terribly swollen. All sorts of tests including kidney, liver, congestive heart failure. No answers. Back to  neuro.
Avatar f tn It's possible that you have a real medical issue with RLS and if that's the case Requip works great and it's not addictive! On the other hand if it does have something to do with w/d's then I would suggest eating bananas as they really do help. If the bananas don't work after a few days then I would go to your doctor and tell him what's going on with your legs and he will probably give you the Requip. I'm currently taking it and with no side effects at all.
620048 tn?1358018235 My pulmomologist gave me ropinirole (Requip) because i have so much movement in my limbs, especially my feet, when I am sleeping and when I am awake too. I was looking up the drug and i found this side effect........ 'Some people using ropinirole have developed a gambling habit. It is not known whether ropinirole actually causes this effect. Talk with your doctor if you believe you have an unusual urge to gamble while you are taking ropinirole.
3141490 tn?1343129677 I would suggest that you get in touch with your regular doctor and ask for a prescription of Requip which is very effective for RLS. Good luck to you.
Avatar n tn I take Requip for it. Works great. One before I go to bed.
Avatar f tn A few months ago my daily thyroid dosage was reduced and since then I have very bad symptoms of RLS every night and hardly sleeping at all. Even in the day my legs ache but this is nowhere near as bad because I am not resting. I have always suffered from RLS but nowhere to the extent that I am suffering now. It seems to be relentless. Any help would be gratefully received.
Avatar f tn I HAVE RLS FOR MANY YEARS AND I AM ON 3MG REQUIP AND 1 MG KLONPIN, THAT HAS BEEN HELPING UP TO NOW. I DISCOVERED THAT MY THYROID IS VERY LOW. COULD THAT BE WHY MY RLS IS GETTING WORSE. I REALLY NEED SOME SLEEP!!! WHAT OTHER MEDS ARE HELPFUL. I REALLY HAVE ALOT OF PAIN IN MY LEGS ALSO. THANKS FOR AMY HELP.
Avatar m tn I do know many have used Requip for RLS and it is non addictive. Vicodin gives you a false sense of security. When i was using in the beginning i had energy that wouldnt quit but towards the end i became depressed and had no energy. Only you can answer the question of being addicted. I would talk to your doctor and ask him what you have asked here. Hopefully you can get off these as those pills are sneaky and your dosage will increase.
Avatar n tn In response to others questions about RLS. I have had extreme pain and burning in my legs for years, but only when I try to sleep or recline. I don't get the jerking sensation as some do, but I do move constantly for relief. My vascular dr. did an ultrasound and then did an EVLT procedure. This was wasted time and money as it did not help. There are a few things I have found to be helpful for me and want to pass on in hopes of help for others.

Avatar f tn I've got severe RLS 24/7 and have been taking Requip for the past several years, Mirapex before that. It's gotten worse lately so the doctor had me go cold turkey 5 days ago. He gave me Klonopin to take at night, but it doesn't do anything other than make me even more tired. I managed to get 6 hours sleep on day 4, but that's it for the whole week. The doctor says that I can't go back on the dopamines (Requip) since they have started augmentation (making the RLS worse).
Avatar m tn I'm at the point where the rls and insomnia are driving me crazy! I'm working 12 hour days and maybe sleeping 2 hours a night in 30 minute increments. I have tried everything I can think of. I'm starting to have little micro hallucinations. HELP!
1182133 tn?1266851531 Here is is 4:10 am and I am wide awake due to the RLS in my feet, which is traveling to my ankles and this burning pain in my back (upper and tailbone). I am trying so hard not to take a vicodin but that is the ONLY thing that has helped at this point. Not to mention I just took one 4 1/2 hrs ago. I am so sick of this crap it's not even funny.
Avatar f tn Today was my big 10! I feel great. I do still have my rls but I take Requip at night and it makes me sleep like a baby! Ready to watch some titans football tonight and leave for Florida vacation in two weeks!
Avatar f tn Since I already have RLS, will I have to look forward to an increase in the severity of my RLS??? I am very worried. I take Requip (ropinirole) for RLS but it is not a total relief of it. RLS is hell as you dread going to bed, you dread movies, you dread airplanes as you know that your legs will instantly start to ache and you will have the compulsion to constantly move them to relieve the discomfort.
Avatar m tn I had tried all the usual medications for rls before taking the Ultram. I have tried requip, mirapex, sinamet, gabapentin, lyrica and a host of others. Ultram was the only one that worked well. For three and a half years I was free of the rls syptoms. Now though I am afraid I am going to experience not only increased rls symptoms but also the other withdrawl symptoms associated with quiting the Ultram. I am looking for responses from others that have been in this boat.
445838 tn?1205786577 The RLS lasted about 10 days for me - remember that was a long habit for me - but they gradually got better and better, Not an issue anymore with me.
Avatar f tn The RLS is horrible. My right leg. It hurts so bad too. I have taken 3 baths, laid in the floor with an electric blanket and heating pad wrapped around my leg. I just took my 2nd Requip pill for the night. Slathered my leg with the cream I bought. What usually works is not. If this would go away I would fall asleep like that. Right now I am holding my leg straight up in the air. I am so tired. Just whining. This is killing me. Plus I am sneezing tons and really gassy. Stomach is fine.
Avatar f tn Been pretty good besides two sleepless night do to restless leg. Went to doctor today and gave me requip for that so we will see how tonight goes. Best of luck to everyone out there! Say a prayer every chance you get for me!
Avatar f tn He also takes plenty of Norco and Percs..The Requip works very well for him..he suffers from RLS pretty bad ..He has no side effects from it and takes it at bedtime..@10 pm..and he gets up for work @5am..he doesn't feel groggy or anything...you should give it a try..especially when you are in w/d.. If your taking anything else..a pharmacist can let you know if there is any contradictions between meds.. I know that RLS can drive a person nuts..I was fortunate this time around..
Avatar f tn My uncle just turned 60 years old and a doctor recently diagnosed him with RLS. But, the symptoms just don't seem to fit the typical pattern. For the past 9 - 12 months, he has had symptoms of "burning feet" and shaking of the lower extremties. The symptoms are worse during the day, but seem to get better when he lays in bed (symptoms alleviate during the night). He has seen several doctors who have ruled out: athlete's foot, diabetes, Parkinson's Disease ...
1390101 tn?1281000559 Have you tried Requip for the RLS? I ask because I started Sub 4 months ago and still have RLS and my doc said it could be something I will have the rest of my life, and suggested Requip but I have yet to try it. Congrats on not going back to the Mirapex, and also on controlling the gambling addiction! Are you getting any outside help for this ie; counseling? My Dad had a gambling addiction for years and bet and lost the "farm" more times than I can remember.
Avatar m tn I am not sure whats going on with me but I seem to have the symptoms of RLS. At night when sleeping I am awaken by extreme pain in my left leg. From my hip down I think. It only affects me at night. Stating to almost feel like a cramp but It really isnt. Anyone else having these symptoms?
