I may be wrong but I think you are correct that the name brand Adderall made by Shire will be discontinued and replaced by Vyvanse. That being said, you will continue to be able to get the generic brands. It was explained to me that the whole reason Vyvanse was released was because Adderall was coming off patent and Shire needed a "latest and greatest" to compete with the generic manufacturers. I'm sure I'll be corrected if this is wrong but that's the story I was told.

I told the rep that my meds were wearing off after 4-5 hours & asked if it was possible to get my doctor to write for more than 70mg. She said that the doctor can do anything he wants, he can prescribe as much as he feels the patient needs. She took a report, got all my info, and is investigating the report I made.

My instincts tell me that somebody opened the capsules, took half of the drugs out, and will dispense or use them at their hearts dictates--scot-free.
I guess I didn't articulate my situation very well - since i have been taking the medication, it's always been the case that a new prescription needs to be written every month. To be clear, I've always gone to pick up the prescription, every month, at my Dr's office. The difference now is he tells me new federal regulations require that we have a monthly session as well (as opposed to every three months which had previously been the case).
It was a shire shock when I discovered I had the virus and new little bout it then but for about 10 years had never shared either water/bowls/shrpe especially but I may of neglected my cleanliness at times *ie swabs) when desperate and abused alcohol at some occasions in earlier days.
I even called the drug company to report my concerns about the medication. Shire denies any problems with the medication and says its the abuse of it that is the problem. I have a feeling that my husband is taking more than he should and running out of it before he can get a script. He crashes and sleeps and is so vulgar and rude when he doesnt have it; which is now once a month!!!
