Avatar n tn In less than a month she has a lot of function, so she is far ahead of a lot of stroke survivors. Make sure she keeps working all of the various muscles that are responding now so she doesn't lose them through non-use. I'm two years post-stroke and barely able to move my arm and nothing in my fingers.

In 2013, he was charged as an adult at 16 with attempted murder in connection with a drive-by shooting targeting a member of the rival Gorilla gang. The charges were eventually dropped, but long prison sentences were handed down to his two co-defendants in the case." The above situation goes back 2 years before this most recent attack.

I am aware of the neuropsyhiatry and the test and everything. I want to make sure she gets the right treatment and doesnt waste these 6 months. For some stroke survivors, rehabilitation is an ongoing process to maintain and refine skills and could involve working with specialists for months or years after the stroke. As such the time , to get back to normal activities cannot be predicted.

Avatar m tn The only thing is to teach the surrounding nerve cells to takeover the function of lost neurons. This can only be achieved by reverse training that is starting from the muscle end. You may try different physiotherapy exercises and even you can change the physiotherapist after some time to see if that helps. It's a lengthy procedure and sometimes the recovery is not hundred percent. All the best.

1431003 tn?1283341073 Still not passed his swallow test though. When I left him at the hospital the night of the stroke he could still move his left arm and leg quite well but now nothing. He is only 56 does not smoke or drink and quite fit and very active. He was very sleepy for the first 3 days but yesterday was more alert and was in very high spirits talking about the things and places he wants to go and see. It breaks my heart to think that this might not come true.
Avatar m tn Baybay, I concur with the previous poster in the suggestion to check with docs at Indiana University. They have a great group of docs who are very well versed in problems that concern the biliary system. Someone I know who has dealt with stomach/biliary issues for a number of years just had surgery at that facility and the care was first-rate. Furthermore, in my opinion (for what it's worth), the diagnostic work-up and follow-through was excellent.
