Last night I proceeded to do my 4th Rebif injection and wasted an entire syringe because I stupidly forgot to remove the cap. By the time I realized what I was doing it was too late; I pulled the end off of the autoinjector and the medicine came shooting out. Aargh! This happened with my first shot when the nurse was instructing me. She also forgot to tell me to pull off the cap remover so the very first syringe was ruined.

SydB I took for rebif for over 7 years and did a lot of traveling for work. Rebif provided me with a travel case that had a spot for the rx (I cut out from the box with prescribing info) a compartment with an ice pack, and a compartment for the medicine, autoinjector, most the time it went through security without being questioned. The only time it was opened and inspected was on an international flight. Call them and I'm sure they will send you similar.

Hi All, Sorry if this topic has already been covered but I was wondering about travel insurance if you have MS? It's a pre existing condition which would mean the coverage I buy might not be valid with most companies. My husband and I are planning a trip to japan early next year but I really want to get travel insurance due to my MS. Does anyone have any good suggestions on companies in the US that might cover me??

Copaxone since June 2008 after an unsuccessful 8 or 10 week try with Rebif. The latter drove my liver enzymes up and I never even made it up to the full dose. I had picked Rebif mainly due to the lesser frequency of injections, but I don't actually mind the Copaxone daily. In fact i think I'm less likely to forget a shot when I do it every day rather than trying to keep track of whether I did one yesterday or the day before. I've had one very mild IPIR in five years.

When I was dx'ed last fall my neuro gave me info on 3 studies: Rebif New Formulation vs placebo; efficacy of combining Avonex and Copaxone; and a natural history study, as an adjunct to the Avonex/Copaxone study. I declined all of them as I live about 450 kms from the research facility and being in a study involves monthly follow ups. Winter was around the corner, I was overwhelmed by my dx, and did not want to make a commitment to be doing all that travel.

I have MS and have been taking Rebif foe 7 years. It has worked very well. I just learned that my current drug insurance plan from Humana will not cover Rebif in 2015. What plans cover at least some of the Rebif cost? My copay with Humana was about $300 per month. Would like not to exceed this amount.

2007 returned to neuro who made initial diagnosis and he looked at evidence but was sure of his diagnosis so put back on rebif. Just went to Swedish ms clinic in Seattle and had MRI which showed some lesions and radiologist compared the old MRI which also showed lesions (told in 2006 there we're none) doc concluded that since there was no change that he would not treat or even say I had ms or not.

So the ins company wont pay for Copaxone or Gilynia until my daughter first tries Rebif (i guess because its cheaper for them.) I have a concern with her being on an interferon due to the possible mental health side effects. She is already on Lexapro for anxiety and mild depression. I dont want anything adding to the issue. We have dr app tomorrow to discuss Rebif but I dont want her on it. Anyone have bad side effects with Rebif??? Any advise for me?? Thank you.

Hello. Does anyone take Rebif for MS? Is it helping? How long before any improvement? Does anyone think that it's just a false hope with nasty side effects? Thanks.

I have been on Rebif for four months now, and I am not going to do another shot, I can't handle the side effects. I've tried premedicating and nothing seems to work. How many of you are in the same situation? and what did you do?

I took my first shot of Rebif today. I gave myself the shot and i thought this is great no stinging, no redness, no lump like i had with Copaxone. Then WHAM!!!! I had abdominal pain about an hour after the shot it lasted for about 6hrs The only thing i could compare it to was a 6hr nonstop labor pain. We will see what happens Monday when i take the next shot. Does anyone else get this abdominal pain on Rebif.

Is there anyone using Rebif for MS? if so how are you getting on with this treament?

Is anyone currently taking Rebif? And does anyone know anything about it? I was just (finally) diagnosed with MS, though my Neuro wouln't say which kind it was... and is planning on putting me on Rebif. It's been 2 years since my symptoms started, and haven't had any kind of relapse or relief in any symptoms, they just keep coming.

When I went to get my rebif refilled last week was tokd they were out and its on border and they don't kniw when it will come in and could be a couple months. I called every pharmacy in town and got.same.story. Then called rebif and they know.if.no shortage. Is anyone else.having this problem? In meantime I am out so no shots.

Call MS Lifelines (the Rebif nurses) now. I think Rebif is contraindicated in pregnancy. If you don't have their number handy, find it on their website. Congratulations!! First baby?

I've been on Rebif for about 13 years. My insurance recently stopped covering it, but offered Aubagio as an alternative--sounded good to me! I'll be switching, but I'm worried about just stopping Rebif cold turkey (which my neurologist suggests). Has anyone had any experiences with stopping Rebif?

They were high, so at that point my neuro instructed me to go off all meds and supplements, and no alcohol, stayed on Rebif and they remained high when test was repeated. Went off Rebif, stayed off other meds and alcohol, they returned to normal, and remained so after I started other meds again and consumed alcohol again. This is how we could be certain it was Rebif causing the prolem.
