rebif

Avatar m tn But worldwide the accepted treatment would be for you to have a disease modifying drug - at present there are four standard ones - Copaxone, Rebif, Avonex, and Betaseron. All of these are injections. They may or may not help to slow the progrression of your disease. There are new drugs beings worked with too - one is Tysabri, which is an intravenous drug that is given monthly. You might ask about that. We have some members here who got worse and would not walk, but now can walk.

Avatar n tn You may be experiencing numbness in the tongue, a common symptom of multiple sclerosis per se. Review with your neurologist if your disease spectrum has changed and for these newer symptoms. He might like to add some muscle relaxant like tizanidine, baclofen or carbamazepine. You are welcome with any further clarifications. God bless.

Avatar m tn Copaxone, Rebif, Avonex, and Betaseron. Other medications are used (like the Solu-Medrol) during attacks, and to help with symptoms (like Provigil for fatigue). There are other medications that are used when the CRAB drugs aren't working, but have risks and side effects (like Tysabri). On this site, there's a lot of information about medication and treatment, relapses, and pseudo-relapses, etc. in the Health Pages (see upper right hand corner).

Only a phase III trial can really answer the question of a drug's effectiveness and safety," Miller tells WebMD. Coles says that two phase III trials are under way, with results expected by the end of 2011. Alemtuzumab vs.

Avatar n tn I was on Copaxone and rebif prior and had flares. 2 years on Tysabri And no real side effects, just the wearing out a few days before next infusion. My neuro loves the "juice" so I imagine he will keep me on. I used to be a NP now on disability and I can't totally understand my MRI results. Just frustrating. I am only getting tested once a year for JCV. I have been taking my health a lot more seriously and just lost 50 pounds.
Avatar n tn I'm also Secondary Progressive, but not as severe as you, I'm now a 5.5 on the scale. I was on Rebif for 15 months, sicker than a dog and so weak and in so much pain the whole time and the MRI's showed it clearly wasn't working for me. My last neuro had me stop taking it and wanted me to try Novantrone, but the I wasn't ready to do that. I've been off the Rebif for about a year and a half and have been stable and have felt so much better for the past year. I was a 7.

572651 tn?1530999357 The Comparison of Alemtuzumab and Rebif® Efficacy in Multiple Sclerosis (CARE-MSSM) I and II studies are designed to determine the safety and effectiveness of the investigational drug alemtuzumab as compared to the FDA-approved therapy Rebif (interferon beta-1a), in adults with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). The studies will look for differences between these drugs on the progression of disability and in the number of relapses (flare-ups) and brain lesions caused by MS.
Avatar f tn I just ran a search for "multiple sclerosis night sweats", and I found an article that states that 16-36% of people with ms experience moderate to severe night sweats. The article broke it down better than I just did. All this time I thought it was hormonal, lol! (Who knows, maybe it's both in my case...
Avatar f tn ) Pharmacokinetics The pharmacokinetics of Rebif® (interferon beta-1a) in people with multiple sclerosis have not been evaluated. In healthy volunteer subjects, a single subcutaneous (sc) injection of 60 mcg of Rebif® (liquid formulation) resulted in a peak serum concentration (Cmax) of 5.1 ± 1.7 IU/mL (mean ± SD), with a median time of peak serum concentration (Tmax) of 16 hours.

Avatar f tn Just so you know, Rebif (MS Lifelines) has a program that pays all but $50 per month for Rebif. No income restrictions, no application, no time limit, and works even if you have insurance -- just call & ask for it. I just got into the program a month ago -- really could NOT believe I won't have to pay for it! The one limitation is that your insurance cannot be via the government (like Medicare etc).
4313204 tn?1353971047 Interferon Drugs for Multiple Sclerosis (Avonex, Betaseron, Rebif)Interferon beta drugs help control the immune system, which helps control MS. Glatiramer Glatiramer helps prevent the body's immune system from attacking nerve fibers. Novantrone Novantrone slows disability and reduces the relapse rate. Tysabri Therapy Tysabri reduces the relapse rate, but is somewhat controversial. Aubagio Aubagio reduces the number of flares in adults with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis.

333672 tn?1273792789 Just wondering if anyone is going to this MS in Balance seminar on "Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis and Its Management" in Carmel (suburb of Indianapolis). It's the evening of Thursday, Dec. 4 and apparently is sponsored by the Rebif people. http://www.mslifelines.com/programs/local-seminars/view/1525.jsp Has anyone ever been to one of these things? Are they likely to be worthwhile?
