Zolpidem (Ambien) and eszopiclone (Lunesta) have been shown to reduce the time until sleep occurs and increase total sleep time. The sleep induced by them resembles natural sleep. Ramelteon (Rozerem) has shown to reduce the time until sleep occurs.
Specifically, the delayed sleep phase syndrome. He prescribed Ramelteon to help her fall asleep at night. So far, the sleeping pill seems to work but in a subtle way. If she does not prep herself for sleep, sleep will not come. It has gotten so bad that she cannot remember the last time she slept and felt rested.
There is a bit more to it then just a sleeping problem. I am not sure if this is related to it but she has laps of time where she can't remember specifically what she did.

m making on this treatment, the more upset I get with the pharmaceutical companies. In my opinion, they no longer care about curing chronic illneses because they are making billions of dollars from medications that help with our symptoms only. I know it is a negative view... but there are facts to back up my view.
So here is my question:
Do you trust the pharmaceutical companies ?
I don't know anything about cost, but this isn't a particularly good vitamin product. For one thing, it contains the least absorbable form of B12, which isn't unusual in a multi but doesn't make it anything special. It's also not particularly complete. Docs like to tell you to take pharmaceutical products because that's what they know -- they are sold to by pharmaceutical company detail reps and not by, say, manufacturers of natural vitamins.

Is this a long-term problem, or just something that arose recently? It's either a cold or other virus or infection or allergies. In any case, you'd want a decongestant, which can be natural or pharmaceutical, or if allergies try to see what's causing it -- for example, most people have a problem with wheat and dairy because they're common allergens. So is dust.
Same answer I gave on another post, no long-term studies have been performed on any form of medicine, including pharmaceutical products. Of course, boswellia has been used for over three thousand years, so there is that.

You could try writing to pharmaceutical companies, they may sponsor. Alternatively, sometimes participation in clinical trials will engage those personnel to sponsor therapy for you. Your treating physician can also send recommendation letters to pharmaceutical companies.
