The sleep induced by them resembles natural sleep. Ramelteon (Rozerem) has shown to reduce the time until sleep occurs. It may be more useful for people who mainly have trouble falling to sleep and less effective for patients who routinely stay awake during the night. It is also believed to be non addicting and may not impair motor functions.
The data comparing their efficacy is limited and few head to head trials have taken place. More comparative data is needed for complete analysis.
So far, the sleeping pill seems to work but in a subtle way. If she does not prep herself for sleep, sleep will not come. It has gotten so bad that she cannot remember the last time she slept and felt rested.
There is a bit more to it then just a sleeping problem. I am not sure if this is related to it but she has laps of time where she can't remember specifically what she did.
at between 330am to 430am i would go to sleep for a little while..my girlfriend did loads of stuff for me..one of the neatest was taking me out for a drive...i loved to lay back in the passenger seat...turn the seat heater on and that was the most relaxing sleep inducing best thing i could ever get....nothing topped that!.....now 5 months post tx i drove 8 hours back home the other day.. no problem...still not all my energy back yet but its getting there...
Seroquel is a serious drug for serious mental illness. It was illegally marketed by the manufacturer (who has been fined and sued successfully for this) for just about everything. So this isn't a drug I would take for sleep (taking any drug for sleep can be a problem long-term, so I hope you're looking for the solution and not just relying on medication) given the strong side effect profile of drugs intended to treat psychosis.
This is my second child but my pregnancy has been 100% different. I'm 36 weeks and lately I haven't been able to sleep more then an hour or so at a time because my hips hurt so bad and it even hurts to try and roll over. I've tried stretching before bed, hot showers, and three different kinds of pillows between my legs. Does anybody have anything else I could try I'm desperate for sleep!!!
We got help from a sleep specialist and we haven't had any problems since he was 16wks old. She spent like 3hrs with us, looked at his room and mafe suggestions then wrote a program for us. We were so sceptical as he was prem and had colic but sure enough within a couple of days he was napping during the day and sleeping through the night and all we had to say was the magic phrase.
oh ok i misunderstood!Sleep disturbances were common for many of us in the first year of sobriety..our bodyclocks were wired to nitely drinking/drug use and it takes the brain a few months to heal up and re-adjust itself.....r u a big cafeeine consumer?do u have a set daily routine?get up at same time?sleep at same time?
