Pulmozyme dnase

Common Questions and Answers about Pulmozyme dnase

pulmozyme

435139 tn?1255460391 I also take guiafenisen (mucinex tabs) to help with my mucous. I am also on pulmozyme (DNAse which breaks down the DNA of the mucous and thins it) but that is prescribed for Cystics.
Avatar n tn my 10 year old had a dnase-b antibody result of 480. what could this imply? He also has many neurological issues, any coralation? How should we proceed, with further tests or research?
Avatar n tn 1280 and his DNAse B antibody was 448. His doctor wants him to start Valcyte. Does anyone have any thoughts on this.I'm not sure how this will effect him while going to school.
Avatar f tn He does take prevacid and ursodiol for GERD, and is on TOBI, Cipro (for pseudamonas) and the usual Pulmozyme, enzymes, etc, etc, etc. How are these related? How can we prevent pleurisy? Will it reappear later as we fight CF? Will having had it affect his long term prognosis?
Avatar m tn Liver biopsies from 8 chimps were taken at baseline, completion of NUC lead-in and on study. HBV DNA, + /- plasmid-safe DNase digestion to enrich cccDNA, was measured by qPCR. Pre-core/core RNA (C probe) and total HBV RNA (Total probe) were measured by RT-qPCR. The Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals was strictly adhered to. Results: During NUC lead-in, total liver HBV DNA decreased 1.1-2.5 log10 in HBeAg + but not appreciably in HBeAg- chimps. cccDNA in HBeAg + chimps decreased 0.
Avatar n tn s when necessary. Nebulized mucolytics (meds that break down mucous) such as Pulmozyme and mucomyst are helpful. Chest physiotherapy is also important to help loosen the mucous in the lungs as well. Asthma is separate, it is bronchoconstriction, with inflammation that is reversible with medication that opens up airways such as albuterol.
Avatar n tn I also neb mucolytics, meds that break down the mucous so that I can pass it easier. I take pulmozyme for this, but also take hypertonic saline (also nebbed) and in the distant past, Mucomyst.
Avatar f tn It is pretty effective I believe. What nebs does your doc have you on? I am on pulmozyme (breaks down the DNA of the mucous, thinning it), hypertonic saline...also breaks it down, TOBI for my pseudomonas (if you culture pseudo, this might be a good drug for you, it is a nebulized form of tobramycin, I rotate 28 days on and 28 days off..it does a fairly good job at keeping my pseudo at bay) as well as pulmicort and Xopenex. Lots of nebs....
Avatar f tn One is Hypertonic saline (HTS) 3%- docs also prescribe 7% as well sometimes. I also nebulized pulmozyme which breaks down the DNA of the mucous so that it is thinned even more. For my pseudomonas (did the docs ever culture your sputum? If not, have them do that so that you know what is growing in there. If it is pseudo, then there are meds that can be given to help decrease the colonies), I nebulize tobramycin on a 28 day on/28 day off schedule.
Avatar m tn Thank-you for giving me some ideas, She has had blood tests done, Lyme, blood sugar, white, red blood counts, full thyroid panels, metabolic panel, Rheumatoid factor, ASO, Anti-DNASE B titer, ESR. The doctor said all look fine. Last year one of her thyroid test came back slightly low and they said they will watch it. This year they said its fine. I am going to take her to a herbal/ natural store and get a test done there and see what they have to say.
Avatar n tn I am on mucolytics as well to break up the mucous...specifically pulmozyme which actually breaks down the DNA of mucous and thins it out. Another one that is commonly used is Mucomyst. I use other nebulizers to help open up my airways such as Xopenex. The coughing might be irritation, I know that I get into some pretty awful coughing fits at times. My airways begin to constrict and I just cough more so the nebulizers work, maybe they will help you.
Avatar f tn Total RNA was further isolated from liver biopsy samples collected as indicated above using the RNeasy Mini Kit (Qiagen) with on-column DNase I digestion using RNase-Free DNase (Qiagen).
Avatar n tn aeruginosa infection in my lungs, Pulmozyme which breaks down the DNA of my thick mucous, Xopenex to open up my airways, pancreatic enzymes to help replace those that my pancreas cannot secrete to aid in digestion, etc... I know that this is overwhelming....you can email me anytime with questions. There is also a fantastic website that is stuffed with info, support forums, blogs, videos etc..It is called CysticFibrosis.
Avatar n tn H, inflammatory bowel syndrome (ASCA IGA, ASCA IGG, OMPC IGA, CBIR1 AB, NSNA PERINUCLEAR, DNASE IFA), Celiac disease antibody panel, INR - Prothrombin Time on Whole Blood, Giardia lamblia and Cryptosporidium parasite screen, fat stool screen, stool white blood cell, and stool culture. The test results were normal with the following exceptions: his Gliadin IGG, EIA was high(62), his Blood Urea Nitrogen was low (7), and his MCH was high (31.8).
Avatar n tn Thank you!! I finally heard back from the nurse today. My son's ASO titer was 928, A-DNase 686 and Sed rate 18. While he was be evaluated by the Rheumatology doctors, they ordered a chest x-ray (everything good), referral to a dermatologist to make sure the nodules are Erythema Nodosum and referral to an opthamologist because some type of swelling behind the eye can cause some of these symptoms. ??? Now, I have not had the opportunity to talk to any doctors.
Avatar m tn The extracted products were further purified with plasmid-safe ATP-dependent DNase(PSAD). HBV DNA and cccDNA in both supernatant and sediment were quantified using Real-time quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (Real Time PCR), and the impact of proteinase K on extracting efficiency was evaluated. ③The impact of DMSO on PCR was tested by comparison of the DNA sequencing results of the routine PCR with standard buffer and the nested PCR with buffer containing DMSO.
Avatar f tn I too take nebulizers, Xopenex like your son but also nebs that help break up my mucous called mucolytics. Pulmozyme and hypertonic saline both do a wonderful job thinning out my secretions so that they don't sit there in my lungs. I take antibiotics by mouth as well on a regular basis, mostly for inflammation so they say and vitamins to replete those that are lost with my digestive problems. I also use a device called the Vest, which is chest physiotherapy with high frequency.
