Well, I'm not sure about that. Antipsychotics don't work right away. Tranquilizers do. Antipsychotics, if they do work, work all the time. Tranquilizes only work for a short period of time and then wear off. If she took this as an antipsychotic injection, it would be during an emergency situation but she would have to take the shots for several months and then go on the medication for longer than that.
ve been diagnosed bipolar for about 2 years. I get horrible depression because of my bipolar. I recently had a really bad reaction to pot. REALLY bad. I almost killed myself, screamed at my friends, and vomited for 2 days. No one else that smoked it had a bad reaction. I haven't had a medication change recently. I'm on lamictal, seroquel, wellbutrin, cymbalta, and adderall. I don't know what happened. It wasn't laced or else everyone would have gotten sick.
I've been on Seroquel, an anti-psychotic medicine for many years. I use it for sleep. I started with 12.5mg/night in 1999 and now I'm up to 400-600mg every night. Over the last few months I've noticed that my legs have been twitching (that's the best way I can explain it) constantly. Sometimes my arms do too but not as often as my legs. Sometimes my entire body twitches...

Children do this when they are bothered by something and are trying to block it out. - can be a fear reaction or just an irritated reaction. However, unless the sounds of the video game and/or images are very loud and or very frightening, this is not the usual reaction of a child to a video game.
It sounds like she might have some sensory issues esp surrounding her hearing -- I suggest that you take her to a developmental specialist to evaluate her.

I am on risperdal consta 25 mg, and I have gained 35 pounds in 10 months. I am not on any other medication, and yet I keep on gaining weight. Does all the anti psychotic make you gain weight? Is there any anti psychotic that doesn't make you gain weight?
Thanks for the advice, the medication freaked me out because I saw two videos on You Tube about babies having Tardive Dyskinesia caused by a anti-psychotic. . One video the mother said the doctor prescribed it at 18 months, now she is 5 with this permanent disorder. It was just very sad.
I dont think my mental condition is severe enouh to take that kind of medication.
Give her a grandmother birthday card from the baby. Simple, cute, and her reaction will be wonderful! I did this to my Mom for mothers day and she loved it. She didn't even want to finish reading the card she was so excited.
I suppose anyone can have a strange reaction to something but I've never heard of marijuana producing a psychotic reaction. People will have their underlying mood exaggerated by it, so if your son is anxious marijuana might make him more so. Much more so. And that can set off conditioned thinking, so such people should avoid it. But it sounds like something else to me or what you're describing isn't accurate, just an acute thing going on between the two of you.
Today I will announce my pregnancy to the whole family at our new years eve party. Super nervous on everyone's reaction! I'm the first born on both sides so this is the first grand child. my 22 year old son just experienced a psychotic break. I need to understand how he was feeling. Is there anyone who has personally experienced this, and would be willing to describe what you felt? I am desperate to understand what he is going through.
5 which I feel fine.. As of late I have been waking up with what my friend believes is psychotic episodes, moments of ultra confusion for me as I usually have no recolection. It is now getting to the point where I could hurt myself as I thrash about and walk into walls. I had a CT Scan which showed no problem. These attacks which I thought where TIA"s (Transient ischaemic attacks) mini strokes if you like proved otherwise..
Not every breakdown is psychotic. I had a complete mental breakdown about 16 years ago or so which lead to 3 years of crushing depression - my illness course leaves me prone to this type of breakdown.
However not being on meds? Dont know - i went nearly 15 years not on meds and i thought i was fine until I wasnt and went psychotic manic, so you might be fine for a long time as well.
And I wasnt fine, I was hypomanic and looking back had at least 3 mini breakdowns and burnouts in that time.
I am currently recovering from a severe depression with suicide ideation in which i apparently had psychotic symptoms. Has anyone else had psychosis without knowing what it was until speaking to your therapist about what was going on? and does anyone have any advice as to what to look for in oneself when psychosis starts?
My pdoc yesterday told me it's possible to have a psychotic break from too severe anxiety. This scares me bad, what is that? Does that mean I'll go crazy and hurt someone? Myself? Has anyone ever had one of these? Also is there anyone here that has had several months of severe anxiety, then slowly goes back to several months of calm? I'm afraid this feeling will last forever. Just to make sure I'm experiencing this "anxiety" what does it feel like to u all?

I really cant help if after the birth of her last baby, if she wasnt put on an antidepressant, and shes not having a bad reaction. News says she is in hospital now and try are trying to get a court order to force her to take the meds which she is currently refusing.

I just found out my 10 year old son made a video about shooting up a school he goes into detail showing what to use as he puts the items into his backpack" nerf guns toys not the real thing". someone saw the video and reported it to the police and and the police went to the school and found nothing in his backpack so when asked why he made the video he said because his friend made one first.
For 3 weeks now, I've been a fog! Not even in my sleep am I free from it, since my dreams are weird and unnerving. I keep trying to find the answer in my head about something that's bothering me, hoping it will snap me back to reality. Can't hold a thought, have to map out every minute, feel like I'm in a dreamlike state, dizzy, scared and confused! WTF happened?!
