psychotic

Avatar f tn My doctor changed my medicine to another anti-psychotic, and my pupils stopped getting large.
Avatar n tn I haven't had a reaction to medicine for clearing up a sinus infection, but I definitely have had anxiety while having a sinus infection. I believe it s due to some of the symptoms with difficulty breathing, etc. Some of the symptoms mimic anxiety so your brain can get tricked then you over analyze your symptoms and it brings out some anxiety. The steroids could definitely be causing some extra anxiety as well.
Avatar n tn Well, I'm not sure about that. Antipsychotics don't work right away. Tranquilizers do. Antipsychotics, if they do work, work all the time. Tranquilizes only work for a short period of time and then wear off. If she took this as an antipsychotic injection, it would be during an emergency situation but she would have to take the shots for several months and then go on the medication for longer than that.
Avatar f tn ve been diagnosed bipolar for about 2 years. I get horrible depression because of my bipolar. I recently had a really bad reaction to pot. REALLY bad. I almost killed myself, screamed at my friends, and vomited for 2 days. No one else that smoked it had a bad reaction. I haven't had a medication change recently. I'm on lamictal, seroquel, wellbutrin, cymbalta, and adderall. I don't know what happened. It wasn't laced or else everyone would have gotten sick.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried extended release Topamax or Topiramate? It is called Trokedi XR. I am going to try it because my memory is so bad on Topamax. My neurologist said it might be better with Trokedi XR but it is very expensive. So if you can tell me before I buy it I would appreciate any feedback.
Avatar f tn I called the dr and we set up a date for the surgery. During the surgery, he did the lateral release, found a crack in her cartlidge and a blister under the kneecap from the kneecap rocking in and out all the time. He said her knees were like a 18-20 year olds. She had the surgery at 9:15 am and we were on our way home by 12:20 pm the same day. She had a nerve block so she couldn't feel the leg for about 2 days.
Avatar f tn I have bipolar 1 with psychotic features. Is there any anti psychotic that doesn't make you gain weight? I am on risperdal consta 25 mg, and I have gained 35 pounds in 10 months. I am not on any other medication, and yet I keep on gaining weight. Does all the anti psychotic make you gain weight? Is there any anti psychotic that doesn't make you gain weight?
Avatar m tn Do you mean Oroxine (which is levothyroxine, which is used to treat hypothyroidism)? Zenpride is levosulpiride which is an anti-psychotic medication. Do you know why your doctor prescribed these 2 medications?
Avatar n tn We know a lot about anti-psychotic meds, but being 8 years post-menopausal, I know absolutely nothing about birth control pills. Perhaps some of our younger women might be able to help you. But the bottom line remains that I think you are in the wrong forum for this particular question, and ONLY your OB/GYN should be answering this question. I don't mean to blow you off, hon, but I just don't think we can help you. I wish you well.
1161244 tn?1262725654 is there such a thing as build of sperm that it causes discomfort, in that i mean to be sexually aroused and not get a release to cause bad pain in the lower abdomen, also when touch there is some discomfort, also they have been advised to have sex at least three times a week or if this continue they may have blood in their sperm on release or they will have to go to surgery...
919239 tn?1269394658 Seroquel is an anti-psychotic and should not be prescribed for depression since it's basically a serotonin antagonist. I know it is sometimes prescribed off-label for depression but it is very rare and i don't understand why would one prescribe Seroquel for depression. Have you tried SSRI or SNRIs? A reuptake inhibition of a neurotransmitter is way better, in my humble opionion, than the inhibition of the receptors implied with serotonin neurotransmitter.
Avatar f tn You can take Xanax too and Xanax being a sedative, hypnotic, anti-convulsive, anxiolytic medication will make you even more tired and dizzy since you are already on Seroquel which is very sedative in its anti-psychotic kind of med. You get the extended release which should cause less sedation but still when mixed with a benzodiazepine such as Xanax it will add up and make you feel like you mentioned above.
636562 tn?1223667445 I recently had a bad reaction to Tussionex Suspension and had to go to the ER. I agree with the doctor that I had a reaction to the Tussionex, but I'm wondering why it affected me so long after I initially took it (I didn't have any symptoms for the first 7-8 hours). I apologize if this is in the wrong forum, but I thought a pharmacist would be the best one to answer my question. How do extended release medications work?
Avatar m tn So I'm taking 40mg of Geodon for bipolar, though no psychotic symptoms. Now I know bipolar alone should deter me from taking mushrooms, and honestly I'm sure it will. And I know mixing recreational drugs with psychatric meds is a bad idea. Nevertheess, I have a question concerning the interaction between Geodon and psilocybin. From what I've read, psilocybin is an agonist to the 5HT2 serotonin receptor, which I assume means that it increases serotonin.
Avatar f tn Everyone is hoping for an October release date for Ledipasvir, I have not heard of a release date for Daclatasvir. Even with a release date I don't think Daclatasvir is a Gilead product so the only way to do Sofusbuvir + Daclatasvir would probably be another off label situation.
Avatar f tn Has anyone out there had a Psychotic Reaction to Lexapro during first week of treatment? I was given it for acute anxiety, within 24 hrs it crashed my into depression, I have suffered mild attacks of depression in the past, but nothing like this.
Avatar f tn For approximately 9 wks now I have been having an allergic reaction to something. I get welts all over my body which are extremelty itchy. My face, lips, eyes and tongue swells to where you can't recognize me. I occasionally have severe joint pain. I have been to the doctors and an "allergist". I have had alot of test which basically came back negative (R.
605458 tn?1539228808 But regardless there is at least one antipsychotic of a more standard type close to release so keep up to date by googling "psychmeds123" (the site updates itself).
Avatar f tn t happen you get a period. So the first 2 weeks is the thickening of the uterine lining and the release of the egg. Then around week 3-4 it attaches and starts forming a baby. Around weeks 4-5 is when u test positive.
Avatar m tn Neither of these is a drug, but because Vitamin K is fat soluble, milk thistle, which helps the liver to release toxins, might release a certain amount of any fat soluble substance since they're dealt with by the liver. That's why milk thistle is generally not taken on a regular basis, but only when you need a cleanse.
Avatar n tn I suppose anyone can have a strange reaction to something but I've never heard of marijuana producing a psychotic reaction. People will have their underlying mood exaggerated by it, so if your son is anxious marijuana might make him more so. Much more so. And that can set off conditioned thinking, so such people should avoid it. But it sounds like something else to me or what you're describing isn't accurate, just an acute thing going on between the two of you.
2114467 tn?1358210256 It has an exp date on it, if it is not expired I am sure it is fine, not everyone has the same side effects from interferon.
Avatar f tn You could discuss all this with your lawyer and as obtaining much of the evidence requires completing release forms work with them to insure your case file is accurate and up to date.. Also it would be essential to discuss specific questions about why you cannot work and some of the reasons why with your psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn I'm 20 years old and while I don't drink too frequently (4ish times a month), I have a pretty high alcohol tolerance for my small stature; I've only been hungover once (after a Four Loko...bad decision). However, I've noticed that I get a bizarre reaction when I drink Yuengling Lager Light - after having only one, I'll have to pee like crazy for about two hours, outputting about as much urine as if I'd had five drinks.
Avatar n tn That is a very common reaction to Met. for some it goes away in a week or two. Also what strength met? many find starting on a low does and working up helps. The also make a Extended release Met. that many find easier to handle.
1530342 tn?1405016490 The medical examiner said Leiby Kletzky had been given muscle relaxant, anti-psychotic drugs, painkillers and Tylenol before he was killed. The anti-psychotic drug, quetiapine, is used to treat symptoms of schizophrenia, and can also be used for depression and other episodes of mania. A grand jury indictment could come later Wednesday charging Levi Aron, a 35-year-old hardware store clerk, in the killing. Prosecutors have charged Aron with first-degree murder and kidnapping.
12268405 tn?1427853361 On April 2nd I made the decision to admit myself to a psychiatric hospital due to a psychotic episode. The thing that I'm having the hardest time comprehending is if I induced the episode or not. I convinced myself that I was covered in fleas, I heard voices saying my name and calling me worthless in the past, & I experienced paranoia. I don't know what to think right now. I wish I could know if I made the symptoms worse or not...
