provigil

Avatar f tn Can anybody tell about a website that I can trust, where I can buy Provigil(modafinil)for less?.I dont have medical insurance and I cant afford to.pay for it at regular price.I suffer from MS and I have chronic fatigue at all times.please,Anybody know about this.
Avatar f tn I dont know if this is accurate or not, but I thought it should be shared. I just read this in the "Health" Section of Foxnews.com I have heard a lot of really good things about Provigil, although I've never used it. It was recommended to me many times though. Just some food for thought. Seems EVERYTHING comes with its own set of dangers attached.
Avatar f tn If you want to give Provigil a try, go to their website, and you can download or call them and have them send you a coupon for a week's free trial. Have your doctor write it for 200 mg. and start by cutting them in half. I tried it that way, and it made such a difference in my life that I bought myself a prescription of it for Christmas; it was only (only, ha!) $306 at my pharmacy, so you might be able to find it for less than your first attempt.
Avatar f tn ve just had about 20 cups of strong coffee - too strong. Also, I believe it is cheaper to buy 200 mg and break it in half than to just buy 100 mg pills. So 100 mg is great - makes me feel like a normal person again with energy and full mental acuity. Trouble is, like Jules L5S1, I get heart symptoms from Provigil - so I have to limit it to only once or twice a week.
1088527 tn?1425313375 just an update, all excited that provigil was now generic I called my "darling" drug company and was told that generic is $866 a month and my share is 30% or $260...........sigh,, still out of reach for me.............darn and double darn.....
Avatar m tn I've been on provigil for a year and a half now- as needed (my job requires shift work). I also take pristiq for anxiety in which I've had for many years. In the last six months I've been dealing with w lot of troubling events that have taken a toll on me, my emotions, my stress level. In the last month or so I've noticed that I get really bad anxiety/nervousness about ten minutes after taking my provigil. It never used to do that before.
405614 tn?1329144114 "Dear Dr. S. I’m writing once again regarding a possible appeal of the denial of Provigil prescription that you wrote for me at our last visit, after it was clear that the free week’s trial of the medication was very helpful in restoring some of my quality of life. I contacted my insurance company, spoke to Brandon, a pharmacy account specialist. He said that more evidence showing that the medication is medically necessary to help my condition is needed.
Avatar m tn Just tell him how you are feeling and let him decide on what medication to put you on. People on here try to be helpful. But you could be told to try something that might go against you. Then who do you blame? Hence users should never say get this tablet or get that tablet. As much as they mean well. They are not your doctor.

Avatar n tn CAN PROVIGIL PRECIPITATE AN ATTACK OF MANIA IN A PERSON WHO HAS A PROCLIVITY FOR MANIA BUT THE MANIA IS LYING DORMANT This discussion is related to provigil side effects.
429700 tn?1308007823 Oh yeah, I feel your pain! I'm hit with the fatigue, too. They started me on Amantadine a few weeks ago and it really isn't working so good. Not a profound difference, that's for sure. I was hoping to get on Provigil but it wasn't offered to me, even though I requested it by name. I have heard that many people do have problems getting it approved by insurance, unless you have a sleep disorder.
390916 tn?1204840470 Provigil? It would be great if I could be prescribed a sufficient amount! It takes 800mg to have an effect on me that means anything, but the most that can be prescribed is 400mg per day. Essentially that means being awake for 12 working days per month. I don't take it on weekends and just sleep. I read the studies and they went up, safely, to 6000 mg per day. Not sure why they will only allow 2 pills of 200mg each.
Avatar m tn What type of Dr would prescibe this med? I suffer from chronic fatigue and being the sole caregiver for an ailing parent now for eight years, I have develped caregiver burnout. Energy/motivation has never been lower. I've tried all kinds of nutritional aids to no avail. I would like to try this medication for the short term. I don't have a regular Dr so I am curious what type of Dr I should see to discuss this with........
Avatar m tn Barely had the energy to make it out of bed most days, and was extremely foggy all the time. It was very difficult to be able to concentrate on my work or do anything requiring the use of my brain. I was seriously thinking about stopping the tx because of this even though I know the consequences. My Dr. recently prescribed Provigil for me. Knowing my history, and my usual positive attitude even during the hell of the tx, he thought that would be better for me that an anti-depressant.
1394098 tn?1385960134 Hi Niko. I feel a little envious of you. I would love to be in Greece right now. I was looking back on my post and comments and I realized that I left out a lot of info. I am in Minnesota so most of our health care is dominated by the Mayo Clinic Health Systems. It's hard to find a good doctor around here that isn't tied to Mayo. We do have a clinic close by that does testing on free T3 and Reverse T3.
565254 tn?1224716453 I am currently taking provigil for my fatigue. The pharmacy had to order it so I was out for a few days. During those days I have been headache free. It seems that my headache has come back since I started taking it again. It isn't as bad as a normal one but it is enough to be irritating. I am curious as to whether anyone else has had this issue and if so did it go away after a while. It has really helped the fatigue but I would hate to think that the daily headaches are back.
619930 tn?1260374254 I am in week 42 of tx and my trial doc prescribed 100 mg of Provigil to help with my fatigue (he can't/won't prescribe procrit). My hgb was at 9.4 as of last Friday after being in the mid 10's for a while. I am sleeping "ok" at night with Ambien CR, but have been getting close to worthless (mentally and physically) as far as work goes the past few weeks. I'm wondering if this will really help or possibily aggravate my dizziness from stairs and mild exertion.
401095 tn?1351391770 I think you becarfull of what you are putting into your body while detoxing .I would not want to take anything that is going to keep me up anymore then i would be with detox . as pill addicts we have a habit of putting just about anything in our mouth that we think we make things better . sometimes it makes it worse...
233622 tn?1279334905 When he took a quarter of a Provigil (50 mg) his B/P stayed ok. But when he went to 100 mg his B/P went way up to 160 /110 and he started to have some vision changes. He is now off of the drug. Be careful and monitor your blood pressure.
5509293 tn?1428531475 This is my first day on Provigil, taking 200 mg this morning. This is an attempt to replace Adderall 15 to 30 mg per day. Provigil walloped my blood pressure. It dropped by 10 points when I check 12 hours after taking the first dose. I've been lethargic most of today. I finally took an Adderall so I could function.
Avatar f tn Hello, my name is Leila. I read your post on Provigil and wanted to talk more with you. I have RA and Fibro with extreme fatigue, brain fog, and of course... pain. My doctor originally said he was going to prescribe Provigil for me but after hearing all of my other symptoms (inability to stay focused and complete tasks...) he decided to start me on Adderall (10 mg 2x/day). This medication makes me feel very jittery and sometimes anxious.
Avatar f tn Nuvigil is the NU version of Provigil that Cephalon has developed that will be protected under patent law from generic versions until 2023. They are doing their best to geet Provigil users to switch to Nuvigil over the next few years, protecting their market share and their profits. This is the same thing that was done with Ambien and countless other rx drugs. A new pill, AmbienCR was developed and released and the patent clock was reset to zero.
