ask the doctor about provigil. It boosts energy and concentration but less dangerous than adderall. It comes in 100mg and 200mg. At ur dose--u will need the 200mg. The military gives it to fighter pilots. It may help your problem. Remember--as addicts, we can swith DOC. Don't blow your progress. Give the provigil a try. Good luck!

The medications I have used are provigil and adderall, and I don't take them every day, so tracking them would be helpful. (I currently take provigil.) Tracking the degree of sleepiness is also helpful, since I am sleepy almost every day and a yes/no doesn't do much. Others with narcolepsy might benefit from tracking sleep paralysis but fortunately I don't have that problem. That being said, I really like all the trackers here.

Yes, there are some drugs that can help, and perhaps its time to talk to the doctors about them One that jumps into my mind immediately is Provigil and its new sister drug Nuvigil (drug name: Modafinil). Other common drugs for fatigue are Amantadine, and Pemoline. That gives you some drug ideas to research and talk to your doctor about. As for your daughter - good for you to recognize the sacrifices she makes.

Anybody know if there is any problems taking tramadol and provigil together?

I do use OTC sleep aids like you said and i think for now i will continue, i have some ambien, but i will keep it to use when i need it, since i had to beg for it. I dont want to use it all the time anyway. And i use 200 mg of provigil now, and i sometimes i could use a bit more. But i try to stick with 200 mg.

MS, 22 years, Provigil / Nuvigil just not effective > 2 hrs, what is next ? Adderall ? I shut down around 1-2 PM, having an effect on my work quality, and this NYC heat is not helping. It has never been this bad. Would a next step med be Adderall, Ritilan, etc. Should I be afraid to take due to addiction issues with those meds ?

I still feel pressure in my temples and forhead even though I have stopped taking Provigil. Can you have withdraws from Provigil?

s been an issue with me for more than 10 years, but the last 2 months I was really bad and just being awake for more than 5 hours wore me out. He prescribed Provigil and I've read some of the threads on it and it sounds very promising. My question is, is it something you can take daily indefinitely? I started taking provigil yesterday and wow I cant believe the energy I scrubbed the shower down washed the cabinets down went food shopping then took dog to dog park for 4 hours then home and dinner usually just one of these activities wipes me out . I am glad that I have energy but I feel jittery my legs feel like they are going hundred miles and hour and I am stuttering badly in the am I think I am trying to talk faster then I can get it out.

I take Coreg for bp and tachycardia and am also taking Provigil. I get relief from my fatigue on just 100mg a day and have had no problem with the bp. I have noticed some mild tachycardia recently, but I think it may be connected to the recent switch to generic Coreg. I'm curious . . . can tachycardia be caused by MS?

I would like to warn you, I was getting all these symptoms being the sole caregiver of my parents, mom with a stroke, and dad with a blend of Alzheimer's, Bipolar, and Senile Dementia. I was there several years before my doctor did give me provigil. The thing is, I wished I would have known that what I had was caregiver burnout, and I didn't need more energy to use up to get a longer period of burnout, I needed someone to help me.

Is anyone familiar with the drug provigil or monafinil for enery and depression...? It is a drug for narcolepsy....wakes me up but not sure about use during tapering tabs...

I used to love going to Seattle and climbing up and down all those hills; I once walked from lower Queen Anne to the Woodland Park Zoo, walked around there, and walked all the way back. Those days are gone, but I would like to try it in a car someday just to measure how far I went (not to mention elevation gain and loss) I live down in Portland, but I've been to Seattle many times. I'm glad you got to enjoy it.

Hi Corrie, Thanks so much for input. After some waiting, some calls, neuro wants me to stick with it since it's helping fatigue and try a lower dose so I am doing that now and it's better so far and still effective without the sudden heart poundings! So we'll see how it goes. Do you mind me asking why you stopped it after a year? Did you no longer need it or did you try something else? Ison't know how you would know you no longer need it unless you come off it.

But, there is a strong case for you to stay on it, and not try the others. i.e., vulnerability to adverse reactions and what that can do to you and MS in terms of set backs and exacerbations.

I've taken Provigil since August, last year. I had mild headaches when I first started the Progil, but they went away pretty quickly (within a few weeks). I have a propensity for migraine headaches--which I have other treatments for. Now, my migraines are even down in number. I can't attribute this to the Progil, of course, but it does show that after a short while, the headaches in my case, went away. I do, however, only take half of what the doctor orginally ordered.

Barely had the energy to make it out of bed most days, and was extremely foggy all the time. It was very difficult to be able to concentrate on my work or do anything requiring the use of my brain. I was seriously thinking about stopping the tx because of this even though I know the consequences. My Dr. recently prescribed Provigil for me. Knowing my history, and my usual positive attitude even during the hell of the tx, he thought that would be better for me that an anti-depressant.

A fwhile ago a friend gave me a huge ziplock bag of PROVIGIL 200, and a massive amount of ritalin, 5s,10s, and extended release 20s. I have attempted to research PROVIGIL, ate one and it seems to add to my energy level. I am not looking to trade addictions. (I am feeling withdrawl, cold, night leg shakes, sweat, uncontrollable yawning, and the dreaded running to the restroom) Does anyone know if RITALIN and/or PROVIGIL will ease my lack of motivation and energy untill the WD passes?

Hello, my name is Leila. I read your post on Provigil and wanted to talk more with you. I have RA and Fibro with extreme fatigue, brain fog, and of course... pain. My doctor originally said he was going to prescribe Provigil for me but after hearing all of my other symptoms (inability to stay focused and complete tasks...) he decided to start me on Adderall (10 mg 2x/day). This medication makes me feel very jittery and sometimes anxious.
