193609 tn?1292180293 Admittedly, I do prefer Herbalife protein bars over shakes. I do, however, have a container of the Herbalife protein powder and when I am on my running regimen I add it to one shake per day. I don't notice a change in the taste at all, it still tastes just like whichever flavor of shake I have added it to. Hope this helps Cheyenne. About half hour after a run is a great time to get in some protein.
Avatar f tn The more protein in them, the worse they taste. Listen to Julie and eat food, not candy bars.

People who are vegan may prefer soy protein, although Horvath notes that its taste is sometimes considered to be more unpleasant, and it doesn’t dissolve as well in water. Protein powders also come with widely varying price tags. “For the casual athlete who doesn’t have a specific need at a certain time of their training, the cost is not that important,” says Horvath.

Avatar f tn It's ok if you eat eat chocolates and drink coffe , but try to eat less , if u eat 1 bar of chocolate that's enough , u don't have to eat it once , u can eat half of it in the mornin' then the other half later , and even if u eat 2 bars the taste will never changes , so 1 is too much , good luck

Avatar n tn What I found really helped me was eating a good protein bar with a full glass of water. I suggest the Luna protein bars, I love them and they are packed with extra vitamins and folic acid specifically formulated for women. Hope that helps.

Avatar n tn The ones made for diabetics are designed to help keep blood sugars level. We have found the Zone bars, and the bars that are low carbs (they say to count as a lower carb. than on the label.) Have worked better for keeping our daughters blood sugars in line. If you cannot find one that you feel is good for you, call your nutritionist and ask him/her for some suggestions. I hope this is not your last question and that you will visit this forum again.

Avatar f tn During long periods of time that I didn't eat. I had granola bars, fiber one bars, cereal bars, etc. Those are great camping snacks. Trail mix, nothing super salty cause you'll drink more water which could mean more potty breaks. Haha Just stay hydrated. And have fun.
Avatar f tn You don't say why you want to gain weight, or what kind of weight. Are you ill? Is there a reason you're underweight? If you just want to gain weight, remember that all weight gain formulas contain things that aren't healthy to eat, as do most protein supplements (but not all). The easiest way to gain weight is to skip the unhealthy supplements and just eat more of what you're already eating without increasing your exercise.

1027304 tn?1333973406 My DH really enjoyed making me this shake in this morning, we just started doing it, but we use milk and ice and change the fruit up that goes in it, but we do sprinkle the vanilla protein powder in there. They taste awesome, so I hope I can continue to drink them, but I definately don't want to do anything that would risk my precious little one.

973741 tn?1342342773 I agree, Clean Label Project is not peer-reviewed, and it is difficult to actually access the raw data from this "study". They assign what appears to be an arbitrary letter grade to protein powders but do not give the actual data.
Avatar f tn So I thought I'd share cause I thought maybe this will help someone. I have had horrible sweets cravings since my second trimester. I found out at 32 weeks I had gd. So it has been hard finding sweets that I can eat on the diet that dont screw my blood sugar.
616227 tn?1251076398 I forget the name of the brand....but I have heard Ranae tell of some awesome fudgsicles that she likes that are very lo-cal...these might be a good option for 'those times'. When she pops in we'll get her to tell us what kind they are. You all had me thinking chocolate, so I had one of those protein bars I was mentioning. Good stuff...I'm telling you! Chocolate and peanut butter flavor.
